Leah's journal was good stuff. Especially toward the end where you could tell her mind was getting fatigued by the black soulstone.

Lachdanon's journal's in Tristram Cathedral were not only my favorites, but felt the most incomplete. If memory serves, he talks about how he won't be able to make it out of the cathedral without risking the well-being of Tristram so he ventures as deep as he can go into the cathedral to die. I realize that we get to see him ghostly form, but it would also be cool if there was a Lachdanon NPC, mob, or something so that we can otherwise encounter him in the Cathedral.

I'm pretty sure you kill him in Diablo or Diablo II at some point. My memory is a bit fuzzy.

didnt listen to any and tbh dont even know what the story is. all i know is you rescue cain then he gets merked then diablos friends wanna fight you then you fight them then you fight diablo then you re play everything over and over again.Biggest reward in this game is finding a item then selling it for money then once you reached the 60$ mark you made your money back and can forget about it.

Do you crave knowledge about the beasts that roam the wilds and the creatures that skitter about the darkness in the deepest reaches of the Burning Hells? Or maybe you yearn to know more about fallen heroes? Whispers and discarded texts tell of Sanctuary’s turbulent past. Scattered throughout the flooded causeways and burning embers are books of lore chronicling everything from the downfall of King Leoric to what little is known about the Archangels of the High Heavens.

For this week's community question, we want to find out: What’s your favorite piece of lore text that you’ve picked up while exploring the depths of Sanctuary?

Really like that Abdul guy with that weird accent (hope it's his name) who describes different beasts in Sanctuary.

Maggot Brood and Wood Wraith ones are my favourite.

Spider, because of al-Hazir.
"The ubiquitous spider is one of the oldest and most adaptable creatures in the world. It also seems to have acquired an unfortunate susceptibility to magic. When exposed, the arachnids will increase dramatically in size and even cast spells. Due to this hazard, I recommend staying out of dark places whenever possible."

Demonsbane: Siggard is a beast, I would like to see more about what happened to him and Sarnakyle after Siggard slaughtered Assur. That was an awesome story, people should know about this dude. Should have been a longer story but, definitely one of my favorites. Want to see more of this.

Kingdom of Shadow/Moon of the Spider: Zayl and Humbart Wessel. Awesome characters, especially Humbart. Want to see more of these two. Even the Kingdom of Ureh would be pretty cool to see in a Diablo game somewhere. Without it being an endless maze.

Sin War Series: Really good, can't find anything about what happened to Mendeln (aka Kalan) afterwards though. Although Rathma is mentioned in almost every single book though.

The Black Road: Kabraxis is truly one of a kind. This story pretty much kept me going on the rest of the Diablo lore that I have read. I still can't believe we havn't seen anything at all about what happens next to Darric Lang. Or the Vizjerei who helped him. Anyone who reads this will definitely have their brains in a wow moment off of Kabraxis's statements and arguments. This story is in the top 3 for me and all 3 are pretty much at a tie.

Legacy of Blood: Another best, this should be a movie or something. But I just want to know...(spoiler), if Norrec got with Kara. I mean like really NAILED HER. I mean Diablo has been pretty adult in my opinion, it's not exactly something an 8 year old would typically be into but...we need some good ole fashion birds and bees knowledge sometimes. Like big time. I'll put it this way, anyone who read the novel clearly knew that General Malevolyn was totally banging the living burning hell out of Galeona. We need more of that! Even a small part where Norrecs two ghoul buddies would go "Now that's how it's done" or "I remember when I did that" or "The good ole days" or "Now that's my dawg right there" or in a gentleman's manner "That's how happiness is achieved" or even "that's how babies are made". Still the whole thing was awesome. I would kind of like to see the story about Bartuc and his brother somewhere. That would be pretty damn good too!

These are pretty much all my favorites now that I actually think about it, I'm really into the old stuff, sure enough. I'll be getting into the newer stuff even though I was told to specifically to stay away from it. But I think I will give a chance and see what happens.

You do encounter him in the Cathedral in Diablo 1, he gives you a quest and rewards you with his helm, which is one of the most powerful unique helms in the game, but only obtainable in single player. Also, when you complete his quest, he is finally able to rest, which is why you don't encounter him again in subsequent sequels...I think he deserves his peace.

I always liked the Journal Fragments around the ship in the desert you get in Act II.

I just liked the vibe it gave the area. But was always a little disappointing that collecting them all didn't lead to some other lore item or a hidden dungeon or something.

But I did appreciate the flavor.

Anything that doesn't include al-Hazir reading. (There are others I dislike, but Al-Hazir is a prime example of lore books that I hate.)

I hate any lore books that take me out of the "horror" feel of the game. Particuarly since horror is not really a priority in this series anymore. Al-Hazir is supposed to be psudo-funny and he's sceptical of things you are looking right at. It's almost like the devs want you to realize that these monsters aren't real, so it's okay. They can't get you.

Luckily, in RoS, they mostly removed al-Hazir, instead focusing on readers recounting their harrowing experiences with monsters. All in all, RoS took itself WAY more seriously than D3 did. Thank goodness. Hopefully, they continue this trend.

I am interested in Mathael (angel of wisdom). waiting for him to come into the story, kick out Tyrael for taking his spot on the Angris council. ..it was pretty bold of Tyrael to think that he is the aspect of wisdom... I am sure deckard cain could have done a better job :pAlso want to know if Mathael is the enchantresses prophet/angel.Waiting for Prime Evil vs Prime Good in one of the expansions and for us nephalem to step up when the Prime Good fails..

I thought in her story for her quest, she says she met the angel but he was dying in heaven during diablos onslaught?

Abd al-Hazir should become an active NPC.
He knows Sanctuary more than everyone else, he have contact everywhere and his knowledge could be valuable for any hero.
Reported missing in action the cultists might have kidnaped him if I got it right. It should be a good thing to have an NPC like this one to take the place of Cain.
In D2 Ormus was right, the Horadrims when he said:

''Pride led that holy Order to failure''

Beside, I did really enjoy the lore and all the little stories. There's not enough novel to read.
