LAG w/ Philippines PLDT ISP after maintenance

Same issue here with PLDT @ 3 Mbps after the Mar. 19 maintenance. It takes around THREE (3) MINUTES! To log in to account, and around another THREE MINUTES to create a PRIVATE GAME! just to be disconnected. Latency is around 600 - 1900 ms... Please, Blizz, fix this problem and a it's highly unlikely a problem with our ISP (PLDT) because my DL/UL speed are the same, and my sister who plays League of Legend doesn't lag, so that means that my ISP is doing just fine. In fact, this problem occurred after the maintenance.

I hope for a fix, soon, coz i want to take advantage of the community event buff before it runs out.

Thank you for any actions taken.

Blizzard pls check it out, my IP address is 49.144.x.x range. I tried switching to Asian region and there was no problem in the ping 141 ms. The problem lies when playing in my home region - Americas, can't bear the 500ms-2k latency.

Ok, you are from Philippines and your home region is Americas, but no problem playing on Asian region...

WOW.... I am speechless.

Since when Asean is part of Americas?

Veda, I wanted to just ignore you, but after seeing all of your post in this forum, I just can't restrain my self. So I've got THREE things to say to you:

1. If you've got nothing useful to say, shut up.

2. If you want to just troll, shut up.

3. In fact, just shut up.

To those who sees this forum, please just ignore this troll, or you'll really get annoyed.

Not just PLDT. Bayantel user here.

We also experience lag in D3 when PLDT does since everyone using non-satellite in the Philippines uses PLDT-handled undersea cables going the US.

When routing to the Blizz servers in the US becomes bad, everyone here suffers. Blizz will blame ISP routings and such other factors that are not in their hands if you try to complain.

This is what happens when you try forcing an always-online DRM in a game. The least Blizz could do is set up servers in Singapore even if the region in-game is still in the Americas, by using tunneling or their own VPN or whatever.

This topic was originally created back in March 19, 2013. But the problem has indeed returned, i am also suffering from severe lag since yesterday March 19, 2014. Is this an annual thing to happen? wtf?

This is a problem of Bayantel users since Diablo3 was released in 2012. My friend has 800-1600 latency when playing.

I agree, one of the causes of latency problems is truly that always-on server connection. What's more is that the data is on per-action basis. You communicate with the server for every single action you do in the game. Why not make it per-minute? Like a quicksave function? When playing our computer temporarily stores all the game info and progress in an encrypted file, and ever minute or so or when we press a quicksave button those progress and data stored will be transmitted to the server. Is this possible?

I know that one of the reasons of a game being always online is to prevent hacking, but seriously, the lag issues are a big fun-killer.

I don't think blizzard would actually tell us whats going on.

Same here, PLDT Cebu PH

So far I suspected and tested:
1. Because I have a clan with many members (i thought the client was requesting so much information which was causing the lag/pausing issue)

Test: Ask a friend without a clan to log his account on my computer.
Result: Same pause issue

2. Region

Test: Logged in to EU
Result: Same pause issue

3. My internet connection

Test: Speedtest.net and video streaming sites
Result: Speedtest is aroung 3.5Mbps/1Mbps (I know its not that high but I believe it is enough to play D3)

4. The recent patch (This pause/lag issue started after the recent patch)
I do not know how to test this

I'm running out of options here.

I'm having the same issue with PLDT as well. 200 > 600 > 800 MS switching. The only way I have resolved this issue is using a 3rd party software (GPN) to "Alleviate" the lag issue still getting between 200 to 300 MS tolerable. Seriously this isn't how it used to after the March 19 maintenance. BTW I have already pre purchase ROS given this type of situation, I can't imagine myself having this type of issue during launch day. To whom it may concern Blizz please help your response is greatly appreciated.

When PLDT suffers, so does everyone in the Philippines since PLDT handles the backbone of our telco infrastructure. Therefore, PLDT lag = entire country lags.

Before Blizzard or Blizz fanboys say that it's our country's fault, just no. We were okay before the recent patches (I was okay, personally, before 2.0.3). I have consistent green latency in off-peak hours, and when there's huge Internet traffic I use a VPN like WTFast. This time even with a tunnel on the lag is killing me.

Same problem here at cebu, PHL using PLDT. The lag spikes are awful and it makes the game virtually unplayable. I might just switch ISPs if this continues. What's better than PLDT? Globe? Skybroadband?

Its freaking blizz / at&t's connection. Pathping and an MTR (traceroute) shows consistent packet loss on their network(s). Nothing we can do though..

For this data sample there appears to be the issue on cogentco's backbone. 22% packet loss is VERY high! We saw the same thing with XO communications the other week...where XO had issues handing off to AT&T.
