LAG w/ Philippines PLDT ISP after maintenance

I, too, a player from the Philippines, am experiencing this. In fact, I can't log in anymore...

I really hope Blizzard does something about this.

I'm having my modem replaced this week due to some related problems so hopefully there'd be some improvement.

I'm on PLDT for reference.

Hi Blizzard,

I do also have the same issue with latency. As of writing, my latency has reached 2004msec and moving the character is nearly impossible.

I'm also a PLDT customer and their customer support is not able to provide any workable solution - they can't even provide any explanation.

same here, my lag start at the date 25 ROS launched. slow log in and crappy latency about 3,400ms or long loading to create a game then 0ms totaly ghost player.

don't tell me my internet is slow. my SC2 running well fine.

I believe this wasn't region problem. because we already playing more than a year.

ROS launched without maintenance this is the 1st time I saw in a mmorpg launched new updates without an maintenance.

Apparently there is a damaged undersea cable, from way back December last year, that has not been fully repaired. Something happened during the last month or so that worsened the condition.

https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=454000931396971&set=a.323088384488227.1073741880.229162103880856&type=1&relevant_count=1

This was a recent post from PLDT Home's Facebook page, which they promptly took down after complaints rained down on their page from irate subscribers. Had I chanced upon that post, I would've said my piece too...

So worst case scenario, given PLDT's history of <sarcasm>speedy</sarcasm> resolution, we might be seeing another month, maybe two, of really slow gameplay... *sigh*

EDIT: We now have official word from PLDT coursed through one of the Philippine local news networks. Same explanation, no word if the situation will be resolved anytime soon, but they probably cracked under pressure from all the complaints that's why they had to make an official statement lol!

i got the same problem, this happened after ROS went live. since then i've been experiencing consistent lag spikes that rendered the game unplayable. i tried informing pldt via e-mail, with it, a pathping report, showing packet losses on their end. but, no reply until now. Blizz on the other hand wouldn't acknowledge that they too have issues.

Already had my modem changed. This has been happening ever since the start of RoS when I was in a different location in the Philippines due to work.

The latest pathping from my home shows packet loss starting at hop 12 which is somewhere in Quebec.

Bayantel user here.

I recently just started playing again last week after not playing since 2012. I immediately got latency issues when I got in my own private game. At first is was... manageable to say the least, it was jumping around 200ms-500ms I think? This week though it got crazy hitting up to 2400ms!

I'm no expert on these packets and stuff but I am sure that when I played back in 2012 my latency was stable at 120ms or so.

Does anybody know where the source of the problem is? Because it looks like people are giving different answers.

I've been playing on the Americas server since launch and I've also tried out Asia just to check if the latency is any different... it's not.

Bayantel user here too.

Same story, but ever since I used WTFast my problems were fixed, and I do believe the program itself just shortens or at least stabilizes hops for MMO connection.

Nowadays though, ever since the latest hotfix, there's only specific times in the noon or afternoon that I can log-in. Like now(9:38 PM +8 GMT), it gets stuck in retrieving hero list and even if I do get through, the game boots me out.

Please give us an update about this, Blizzard. :\

This is not a Blizzard issue unfortunately or they could do something about it. Another user was kind enough to post a local link on the damaged APCN2 cable affecting much of Asia/SEA.

I am getting lag spikes too and curious enough many other peeps are and then others are not experiencing any issues at all, Does anyone know if it has to do with the DDoS Attack from the Hacker Group DERP that targeted Multiple Online Servers including Blizzard... http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/12/31/hacker-group-derp-takes-down-multiple-online-gaming-servers

Cryo stop posting that.. it is false and misleading especially when the PLDT issue is a broken underseas cable.
Reply Quote
I read that the undersea cables are gonna get fixed around mid-April?

I don't know if those breaking affected people that use other ISPs though since all I've seen are reports from PLDT and no other providers.

Hi, i just want to share my experience today. Back at Cebu our ISP is Globe and I did not experience any latency issues. Now because the holy week is coming and classes are over, I have to go to my parent's house. I brought my computer with me to play Diablo and this time their ISP is PLDT, the 3mb plan. Guess what, massive latency issues. Speedtest is pretty accurate, and i am able to download movies in avg of 250-300kpbs. Only playing Diablo has online speed issues, not really sure what's going on, but I am thinking now that going to my parent's house was a bad idea. Lol.

Hi, just wanted to share. I'm from Taguig and using PLDT 5mbps plan. Latency is ranging from 250-1k msec. Checking on Speedtest, I'm getting the expected download/upload speed (5mb/2mb) but still I can't make decent run due to this fluctuating latency. =(

speedtest is a different server than the blizzard one. You're comparing apples to oranges.

Please post a pathping: https://us.battle.net/support/article/running-a-pathping-test and a traceroute and lets see if your latency is related to your network connection
