Last night Diablo 3 and Starcraft "2" worked.
Today I installed the latest updates from Windows and whenever I launch either game the launcher gets stuck at about 70%, then crashes and I get a window telling me: "A communication error has occurred, please restart. If problem persist please contact support." Btw, it's persists, not persist, check your freaking grammar AAA gaming company. I followed every tip in this thread, except launching in safe mode, since I'm not going to force my computer to run with major services shut down just to play DiabloFreakingThree: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/6298041560 Sometimes if I launch directly from the folder as Administrator it works, but not always. |

Now I deleted my BattleNet folder from Application Data as suggested in another thread and I'm stuck at Updating Blizzard Update Agent instead. Wonderful.

Now I'm back at Updating Blizzard Launcher and Communication Error message again.

Same problem as mine. I've been doing some research and apparently this has been a problem since launch. The only blue post I've seen recommends a bunch of stuff that apparently doesn't even work. Figures

I think it has something to do with my latest Windows updates, since last night both games worked fine, and I didn't test them out this morning until I updated my files.
I found a crazy fix though: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/ip-release-renew-and-flush-dns Open your launcher from your normal shortcut. Click Start and type cmd. Right click the cmd icon and run as administrator. Type ipconfig /release Then type ipconfig /renew It's a retarded solution you have to do it each time but it works.

I dunno man I'm sorry to hear that I feel your frustration.
First I did all the stuff that EVERYONE said to do in the first link I posted, except the stuff about starting in safe mode. Then I opened the launcher and cmd as administrator, typed ipconfig /release, then the game goes to to the "Play" window. But before you click play, you need to type ipconfig /renew to re-establish Internet connection. Then when you click Play it should work, but for you it doesn't, it's stupid.. |

One more thing, even when I click Play on D3, it takes like a whole minute to launch, before it took like 10 seconds.
