Death due to Waller Affix Bug, Please Address. (pic)

Some birds plopped down that were waller/arcane :( got stuck in 4 walls, couldn't move... did Lingering fog 3x and walls still weren't down, got sliced :( Was tragic...
Pretty sure posting a picture of my death will just make the flames worse, but since i don't care. Here is the picture. You notice 3 walls, all the birds are facing where i am at. The templar is to the left.
You can't see my body on the ground, because i was dead, INSIDE the wall. Not sure what else I can show here...
They flew down, I lighting balled 3 times then tumbled back to kite,they laid arcane, then they place 1 wall right on top of me, then another, then another crossing it, i was immobile, couldn't tumble out, couldn't do anything. then i got sliced. It's also obvious I am INSIDE the wall because the arcane beams are slicing me right when I died, inside the wall.
Yes i "could" have been in field of slaughter in a wide open area and they might have placed the walls further apart from eachother and I would of only been stuck in one and been able to get out the second it was crumbling, however they laid them down one after another directly ontop of me. I wasn't so that is probably the reason the walls landed directly on-top of me. Like so:

I'm not crying about losing my hardcore guy. I have already made a new one and am at it again. However, this is a bogus bug.

Seems to me that it is supposed to "wall off a path of direction", But why are they spawned right on-top of me, ALL at once? Can't blizz have the walls come down at different times? Why are they spawned so close to my character, close enough to get me stuck?(like a jailer)
How about you do a search, "Waller Affix" All of these are reportings AFTER said patched fixed.

So, if I understand right, the issue is a waller's wall being placed directly on-top (not to the side, not in front of you, but directly on-top) of your hero, thus making them unable to move, period.

Here's the issue in all-caps: WALLS CAN SPAWN DIRECTLY ON-TOP OF YOUR HERO

And TLDR: walls can spawn directly on your hero

I don't know what kind of person can't see the problem by now...

I agree waller should be fixed. Impossible to move when cast on top of you nor if it's cast on stairs. Either make walls breakable or give wallers a cooldown on walls so we can have at least a tiny chance of escape.

But like most of the time, this thread will fade unseen by blizz - especially with all the comments like "you should've had higher resists" or such (coming from softcore barbs most of the time).


Physical damage can go through walls but archers cannot shoot over them.

A barb can phase shift his fist though a wall hitting enemies,yet an bow using DH cant shoot over

this problem persisted since may 15 ;)

and yes, this is one of the mannnnnnyy hundred of threads that mention the bug (most of these pioneer players would have quit by now)

guess we know that some things can never be fixed...

There is definitely a glitch with the wall affix. The wall is not suppose to come down on top of your character and stop all movement. I've had this happen to me lately and they did not fix it yet. For those who are bashing him, he has a point. The wall affix is glitched at times when the wall falls on top of you. If the wall was suppose to drop on top of you and render you useless, than its just the same as the jailer affix that stops your movements as well.

Wallers were NOT fixed like...1.0.5 patch said they would? I think it was that patch.
You can EASILY have a wall planted RIGHT on top of you preventing you from ANY movement.

You people insulting OP cuz he got stuck like this should go play in traffic. And by traffic I mean a busy highway. Blindfolded. In a wheelchair.


They don't want waller to be nerf but just fixed. A lone wall should not immobilize you. It should just block your way in a direction.

A thing I don't like when your are stuck that way is arcane sentries that can go through wall. Any wall (waller or decor). Projectile or ray of frost are stopped by wall but arcane sentry don't. I try once to protect myself from an arcane elite by using the decor. But that don't work.:(


OP was stuck inside the wall like Han Solo.
20+ Well-rounded profiles have the SAME known issue that have responded in this thread.
I made a bug report about this issue and blue has never responded.
Others have made bug reports in the past and blues just ignore it.

Yeah happened to me with my HC monk will simultaneously fighting two elite packs in the keep. I thought I was done for but luckily I had serenity to save me. Sadly Demon Hunters do not have anything like that so they are pretty much left to the luck of the gods when it happens. It sucks.

I hope Blizzard will make a fix to either give hp to walls that could be broken by 3 primary attack hits or 2 secondary attacks. Or program them so they can't drop without some kind of out.

That would be the most fair for dh.

Meaning walls could still trap you in one place but only if you are in a hallway cave etc. Otherwise they would have to let you out.

Had it happen to me a few times.

There is no escape for a DH in this case.

Needs a fix.

The problem with Waller is when they spawn overlapping each other and in a sense "jail" you. Also, character pathing needs to be addressed so that when it seems you are "jailed" by non-overlapping wall, your character auto moves around obstacles to get to the target location (see League of Legends --> Anivia ice wall). I'm sure Riot would be willing to sell samples of code if the devs don't know how to do it.

I've read many posts about this and have come to the conclusion that blizzard will never admit to this being a bug. Though, i've never seen a blue respond to a post about walls.

Doombringer is correct and so is OP along with many others in this thread, they are

Many a time have i been stunned by a single wall that arose from betwixt my thighs (in other words when a wall arises in 90o angle from my hero's sight i get suck). Other than that, i like it as an enemy property.

im pretty sure i saw u post a thread of quitting this game because you could not find upgrades/make profits

also, learn how to play, walls are one of the best affixes because it does nothing to u

if u cant handle hardcore, then dont play it


Make profits? (get your facts str8 ) I quit because of the itemization, which OH look they are patching!

Learn how to play? How do you avoid spawned walls ontop of you making you immobile? Impossible as DH,

u know when playing hc u actually have to read the affixes b4 going shotgun mode, maybe care a little bit more in corridors, or death ends locations, where vortex or waller is more dangerous.

Waller Affix - Ability to create walls that prevents players from escaping. Rare monsters in yellow will create walls with one closing end and the minions won't have this ability. Each of the champions in blues will create lines of walls.

Where in this description does it say that the "Lines of walls" from Champions are going to be ontop of you and make you stuck?

OP is correct, blizzard should fix this and make it to where the walls behave like elite walls. How many times have champions "criss-crossed" you with walls right after laying down arcane beams and you die? Probably plenty, though you probably won't admit it.

I think the problem is solved. A lone wall could not block you anymore. But with more than one they can trap you quite often. They just have to send them on you at the same time.

i think a perfect "fix" ( if blizz can not figure out how to not make them drop on ym head )
would be to make the walls able to be destroyed. give them HP, not a ton...
just enough so they "can" be brought down if you get stuck, but it would ALWAYS be a better
idea to go around if you can.

i donno maybe its a dumb idea...maybe not...just a thought.

Wall is a gimmick affix.

I'm fine with walls blocking my path, I'm not fine with walls acting like an overpowered version of Jailer. Barbs can leap through it. Wiz can teleport. Monk can still attack (and I think you can even use 7 sided strike to port away from it). WD got it bad too, but at least they got their spirit walk + 2nd life to make it through. Even pets can take some heat away from them.

The DH has most of her attack disabled, cannot escape, and most importantly, is a squishy class.

NO, you know why OP is trolling. Because the fixed it, I used to have walls landed right on top of me all the time. Not anymore.

My HC barb died at lvl 51 and almost tell my friends (ya I was disconnected), but no, it was my mistake and I know OP is just blaming the walls cause he just couldnt survive an elite.
