I never understand this line,
how objectively speaking, is D2's system out of date?
Just seems like a catch phrase thrown around to justify care bear settings.
Well all the breakpoints in D2
Faster Block Rate (FBR)
Faster Cast Rate (FCR)
Faster Hit Recovery (FHR)
Increased Attack Speed (IAS)
Were required to to compensate for how the graphics and animation played in the game. They were not there to add depth they were there because the restrictions of the graphics system.
D3 uses real 3d animations So they did not need to use FBR to account for the shield block animations and such.
it is sad how the tinfoil hat wearers in this post are so quick to jump on the Blizzard hate wagon with the lazy, don't care ect remarks , based on the fact that they know next to nothing about the games design.
D2 was outdated an D3 is a vast improvement.
You may or may not be wrong. Your words imply one thing, that D3's game design was unable to accommodate D2 features. Thats like having a Blue Ray player that cant play DVD, when all the good movies are still on DVD. That makes me very sad :(
