"Nirvana" is a play style that uses Way of the Hundred Fists: Fists of Fury + Breath of Heaven: Infused with Light to create infinite spirit for a period of time, which allows you to spam high cost spirit spenders such as Wave of Light for this duration.

bravo, good job Fitz. and thank you for the credits.
I had foreseen the day where it would have to be released from silence. I've kept the holy grail long enough, we knew it would have to surface eventually. It's a good thing too, because if it is not openly spoken, many will still mistake it for a bug, as they wouldn't understand how it works.
I hope it will be used responsibly and not abused like the snapshot incident, where a lot of monks were ego tripping over their gear swap, until it was forced to be nerfed. I hope we've learned from the past arrogance of the monks.
this was designed to match lore, and is working as intended, because
1/ if you cast a standard wave of light (75 spirit) and then activate this technique (from 2 targets), it takes exactly 1 second for it to refill to max again.
The initial spirit regen proc is 77 per second. Which I tested by casting Wall of Light while having 148 spirit, in 1 second, timed, it was filled to 150, therefore we have coined that it is 77 spirit regen.
2/ against 1 single target, you do not gain the regen, but you gain bonus generation,
- each individual hit of Fists of Fury, will grant you 8 spirit generation.
first hit : 8+8,
2nd hit : 8 + (8x7),
third hit : 8+8
for a total of 16+64+16 = 96 spirit generated (96 is the yin/yang symbol)
3/ it is based off of the mythos of Buddhism and Christianity, meaning they designed it on purpose, that is why there was a buff to Infused With Light during 1.0.5 to accommodate this technique, which has been around since Launch. (1.0.0)
if I explained it with Lore, it would be sacrilege to some people,
so I'll keep its mystery and let you figure it out based on those 2 keywords.
4/ Infused with Light and Fists of Fury both have a 5-second duration of effect, In the JM Academy thread, we called it "Darkside of the Moon", because your spirit pool looks like the fullmoon, and when you activate this, it fills the whole spirit pool completely, thus the 'dark' side, of the 'moon', cannot be seen. :] And also it's so underground that it's like.. using the Darkside knowledge, hahaha!
5/ This requires at least 2 monsters to activate, you can cast IWL before, or after the monsters are afflicted with FoF, it does not matter as long as 2 monsters are taking the DoT damage. (that which causes the spirit regen to proc)
6/ When all affected monsters die, you stop gaining the regen, it only works when there are 2 monsters being affected, granting you 77 spirit regen per sec. Each additional monster affected (3..), gives you ~38 extra spirit regen each. meaning the more monsters are affected by Fists of Fury, the more regen you will gain.
7/ In the past I have kept this hidden and then slowly revealing it, to catch up the community so when it is out officially, it's not a shocking matter. We've also used redirecting tactics to keep it hidden, for example, spreading propaganda that FoF sucks, and IWL is the worst rune, so that noone could discover this, hehehe.. ;D
Now that it's out, good luck have fun, keep it lowkey, and don't talk about Fight Club. >:)
(thanks again Fitz, the Force is strong in you. :p)
and here's the ancient video for it, which is ep8 in my old build series,
video was hidden but I might as well make it listed now,
this was uploaded in January, its first appearance
was in the JM Academy thread, which predates November and beyond.
technique was first sighted in May, buffed in September.
p.s. I'm also LordRaahl, for those who didn't know,

Currently I try a variant to max out bursts:
DR:F for the lame 10s. You'll get:
- safe positioning
- 18% from itself
- 8% for 3s during Nirvana
Your Teammates will love you for Cyclon Strike...NOT...They'll be jealous anytime you enter Nirvana;)
I, too, am glad that this is finally being released, and being wrote about in this way and also glad that LordRaahl/Countfury has given his stamp of approval on this. I was using this synergy (also after Raahl showed it to me) for quite some time before 1.0.7 released but, like Fitz, felt that the spirit spenders weren't strong enough to gimp cyclone production in the cookie cutter. But with 1.0.7, I think it has changed things and have made builds based on this synergy to be much more viable.
Glad that it's finally time that this synergy becomes publicized in this manner. Well done, Fitz... thanks for putting this together. I truly hope that this inspires fellow monks to get creative with other spirit spenders & runes to see what we can do for the 5s you have infinite access to spirit. When I have a chance, I'll start posting some of my builds too. :)
P.S. Sorry to hear about your cat, Fitz. RIP.

Thx for adding. One more CS/WoL Varaint, which i like the most so far, because its easy to handle, i.e. the opposite of the other variant (or let me say it this way: Braindead Bombing):

Could you help a brother understand how this build should be played
1 - Overawe and Sweeping Wind already activated
2 - cast Breath of Heaven
3 - hold down the right mouse button aka Fists of fury
4 - start spamming Wave of light and you keep using FoF
am I missing something? thanks in advance
You only attack with FoF to get the 2nd part of the animation going. That is the part with the flurry of punches. At the same time you should be activating Breath of Heaven: Infused with Light.
Then you stop attacking with FoF and just spam the bells. The DoT effect will generate spirit for you automatically.
