Developer Journal: Multiplayer Improvements

Surely you havent compared the grinding efficiency in solo vs multi. Even with players that match your DPS by +-10% it takes approximately 25-30% longer to complete the same route

Again, I would respond "To each his/her own." Meaning, that everyone will have their opinion. Opinions are like armpits, everyone has them and they all stink. But, I would repeat myself by saying we don’t know until PTR comes out and all my considerations are really just speculations. Don’t get me wrong I love to farm key and do ubers with friends but when it comes to going in to act 3/ VOTA to grind XP I prefer to do it on my own. I am much faster grinding on my own, then with other people in my party. And when I grind I need to be fast because it get old doing the same thing really fast, so the more runs I can do before I get bored the better.

I love the suggested improvements. I must admit there have been times when I would prefer to play solo because of the efficiency in gaining exp but I play with friends a lot, simply because I love the social aspect of a multi player game, so the improvements in exp will be a real bonus for me.

I can't claim to be among those of you asking for more difficulty in multi player games. When I get wallers/jailers plus plague or arcane on high MP games, that usually means just plain unpleasantness and lots of deaths. A slight reduction of the extra difficulty which is introduced into the game when another player enters, will be much appreciated.

Very upset about the scorps being nerfed.

New tags for game types = woopee, about time. An extra one which says farming would be much appreciated.

Raised gold and magic find levels, bring it on.

All in all, Good Job Guys.

Just a quick note, remember that the Multiplayer Improvements are not all that is coming in 1.08 is a lot more to the patch that blizz have hinted on just not told us yet.

and they do seem to be moving towards social improvements just not yet. it took SC2 2 years to get chat rooms, so yeah =/ Blizz is known for taking there time.

I tend to agree with people about the monster HP thing, but I can see why it has been done to make multi more playable for the average player so I'm on the fence I guess.

It's likely to be another "new feature" as part of the D3 expac.

Seriously, who in their right mind would think such a terribly designed chat interface would equate to a "great social experience" as I can recall Blizzard once said about Battle.net 2.0.

Yeah Bnet 2.0 was a let down in comparison to the original but at least they have acknowledged that now and are working on it(SC2 social stuff is 1000x better now then it was a year ago)

I predict expansion news at Blizzcon, but that's just me assuming, blizz won't tell me anything on that one.

It seems the chat interface in D3 was designed to discourage chatting. That's how bad it is.

It's not really a predication anymore - it's an expectation. D3 expac and WoW expac 5 are almost certainties, Project Titan is probable.
