So there are TWO games.
Diablo III - This is a game where you kill monsters and TRY to have fun. But there is one flaw, when you're insanely lucky you MAY get something valuable but it happens rarely.
Auction House - This is a game where you do business and get geared up much faster and easier than through playing the game called Diablo III. But there is one flaw, there are no monsters to kill.

Fix itemization - Why for example thorns are useless and Crit DMG and Crit chance so much wanted? Make all the item features equally or nearly equally powerful and wanted by everybody. Then things which we can find in-game won't be useless when they don't have high crit dmg/crit chance/stat features. There are so many item features and only few of them are useful. That is why most of the time you can't find something nice in-game but only in AH.
and when itemization is fixed...
Fix skills - Why some skills are simply useless or just too weak? Make all the passive and active skills useful and equally or almost equally powerful. That will make other than standard builds viable. So people will no longer seek only for atk speed/crit dmg/crit chance.
