to eliminate gold trades you are (in my opinion) attacking the problem from the wrong angle. There is one change that needs to happen in order to permanently shut down all illicit gold trades, and that's to eliminate one sided trades. If someone wants to trade 1 million gold for example, they need to offer an item worth at or around the value of 1 mil. lets say you set this number at a 20% radius.
EXAMPLE (20% Radius)
Center point of trade value is 1 Million Gold
Auction House value of item has to be between 800,000/1,200,000
If less than 800,000 or more than 1,200,000 player gets error message
(EXAMPLE) "Sorry but the difference in item value is to high/low. Please adjust trade to continue."
Of course you could be more lenient or strict, 30% or 15%, whatever you wish.
Plain fact is if this plan is implemented, no longer can someone make an outside payment to have someone trade 1million or billion gold in game for nothing thus shutting down illicit gold businesses.
