TL;DR: I want to set-up a new network of "A Unique Collection" achievement seekers based on facebook notifications that a player would receive only for the monsters they're still looking for.
I know there are still players out there struggling to earn the "A Unique Collection" achievement. Some purple monsters are so rare and others "so frequent", that I suspect every player gets assigned with certain unique monster spawn chances. If you want to tick all of them you need to join other people's games. (it's just a theory though)
There other similar threads out there that have probably worked very well for its purpose. But the main drawback is that you either have to constantly go on the topic webpage to check if any new purple monster was found or be logged in to Diablo and hope that you notice purple monster announcements via chat. (at least that's what I think; please correct me if I'm wrong)
Most people that are home (or even close to or due to arrive home in a couple of minutes), like to do other things, not just play Diablo. But they will most certainly interrupt whatever they were currently doing and log in if they knew a unique monster has been found and the finder is currently waiting for searchers to join the game.
Facebook could work quite well for a number of reasons:
*the admin can create a special page where he can post an album containing the name of every unique monster in the achievement as inidvidual photos;
*the players who are still looking for that monster can tag themselves on the photos that they need; they will get notified on their smartphones only for the monsters that they want.
*tagging yourself will ensure that you get notified of any posts on that photo\monster;
I would set this up straight away, but I'm not sure if Blizz allows people to post their "monster names" on facebook. Anyone knows the answer to this, or anyone willing to set a facebook account\page up?
Any comments\feedback\suggestions are more than welcome.

I suggest using a voice chat program. You can leave yourself logged into that all day with the speakers turned up. I belive some even have phone apps, but the one I'm thinking of costs money for the phone app while it's free for the PC program.
Leave yourself idle in the 'waiting for unique' sub group. People in the game can still view your profile even when you are logged out, as long as they have you as a firned.
I'd suggest not placing your email here. Spammers parse these forums for info and they'll use those emails for sell you gold.
Thanks for the feedback. I'm not sure what to say about the voice chat program idea. First of all, as you said, it's not free for smartphones which would have been the main point. You carry a phone with you all day, and the "signals" aren't as uncomfortable as constant sounds from your PC speakers. Also, I want to minimise the amount of notifications. (so you that you get notified only for the monsters you want)
I believe that the facebook idea will work great appart from the fact that I'm not sure how a points\priority system would fit in. This way people don't really have to look up other people's achievements to see if they need a monster or not.
I'll probably steam ahead with the facebook idea, ignoring for now the idea of a points system.
I agree with keeping emails out of this.
I liked your suggestions but I think they might sound too complicated to some of the players and also
- Sharing email will invite spammers (as correctly suggested by Hamiltonz)
- Voice chat program (as suggested by Hamiltonz) seems not a good idea, as even if u leave your computer's speaker ON it’s not necessary you will be available around your computer all the time.
I liked the idea which ninjax has suggested in the thread http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/8568990913 (post #10) to use twitter but he is not sure how to set it up.
I think many streamers are using twitter to post their activities.
I will try to figure this out and post an update here and as well as the other threads where ppl can simply join that on twitter and can get instant alert on their smart phones as well.
If anyone of you know already how to setup twitter, lets post that and get suggestion from community if they are willing for this kind of setup…. post which we can start something on twitter.

Thanks for the input HB.
I've cleaned up the text as it had too many ideas and I've made it focus on only 1.
I'm not sure if tweeter would work better than fb. But to be honest, I only used tweeter for 2 hours. Does it have a similar album\photo and tagging\notification system?
I am also not that frequent user of Twitter, but I guess we can upload a video / photos on a different website like YouTube and just paste link on twitter, as I feel we basically need photo or video just for reference.
One problem which I foresee (may or may not be true) in FB is that whoever is the owner of the FB account of this type of group will receive many friend request before players can start posting about unique... which may prove to be very annoying to both owner and players.
But on Twitter on other hand just player needs to follow that group / account, and whenever anyone post in that... whoever is following that may get the notification... still need to figure out the best channel... FB or twitter.
As of now what I can think of is both are viable option.
Anyway let’s get more inputs from community.
For facebook it should work in the following way:
*someone creates the fb page\album with all the purple monster name images of the achievement;
*if the permissions are set correctly anyone, even a non-friend can post comments on the images of the monsters their still looking for; (so no waiting around for friend requests confirmations)
*if someone who's found a purple monster wants to announce it, they find the appropriate photo and announce it via comment;
*I believe that once the finder makes the announcement, everyone that previously commented on the photo will get notified; (only notifications you're interested in)
Please let me know if you still see some drawbacks on the facebook option.
Threats of violence. We take these seriously and will alert the proper authorities.
Posts containing personal information about other players. This includes physical addresses, e-mail addresses, phone numbers, and inappropriate photos and/or videos.
Harassing or discriminatory language. This will not be tolerated.
