Diablo® III

Aesthetically, What Is Your Favorite Armor Set?

Archon set on female wiz with sovereign helm, love the look of the 3 horns.

Would be cool if we could pick armor styles of the higher tier sets like ilvl 58-63 when crafting armor.

Only when crafting? No please no.

It's already hard to top great crafts, I don't want to spend my limited gold trying to reroll the same stats but this time with my desired aesthetic.
It should be changeable anytime one wants on already existing gear.

Add a new NPC - The Armorer
He takes your piece of gear + some cafting mats and changes the look of your gear to a different one of your choice.
He will be able to do this to all gear including Legendary items.

VAE... clearly, to make this question even relevant, you will have to implement a DRESSING ROOM in one of the game guides that you can use with ALL character classes... people can literally try on every set and combo and decide what they like... I've played hundreds of hours and I still can't tell you EXACTLY what I think are the best pieces in the game aesthetically... not to mention I've only played one gender the entire time.

Hell, even add a voting mechanic that can be used on pieces... the pieces with the most votes will win the "looks" contest and you can start your artists to work on pieces similar in aesthetic to those highest voted.

In the meantime, have your guys use placeholder models until the votes come in.. but don't push anything back for this feature...

Heck, just make a developer blog that has a voting system in it for each armor set... don't describe the armor, just give a name off to the side and let people vote.... allow for people to vote on as many as they want... at the end of the day, the ones with the highest votes will win... Please provide pictures of both male and female models and every class with said armor/weapons on... also, cram as MUCH in each picture as you can... there is no reason to do 1 pic per armor piece... I think we can all decide what we like by looking at the pictures and voting for that "slot"...

Remember, we need to be able to vote for single units, NOT JUST SETS...
Thoughts?

This post, in combination with the only other post in the past twenty-four hours ( http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/8704260892#1 ), really leads me to believe you have no real information pertaining to the game available outside of 1.0.8 (which we are all undoubtedly tired of seeing on the PTS ), or the interesting video post where we notice PS4 is getting an all around better game via the millions of under-appreciated game testers on PC.

I like how all my characters look exactly the same as each other, it really shows the in depth design behind the game to allow a person to feel as if they are playing the same character all the time, its fun!

The slight of hand, hey look over here, is getting old.

Just because I think it is ridiculous that you deleted the post at the above link, here is the link that replaced it a day later with exactly the same information.
Of course still no updates on 1.0.8 ever coming off the PTR. Ha!

Its good work and can be appreciated by anyone who enjoys the artistic side of life. I am merely pointing out that all of this information can be found on the homepage of the D3 website. Which is quite easily found, I might add.

Currently I think we're at about 5 feet 11.75 inches below the surface of the earth here.

Hows the resumé looking these days?

I am sorry to say that there is pretty much no armor I find really pleasing as far as the aesthetics go.

There are just some items/armor I find less ... awkward.

There is the problem that all Legendary helmets are "masks", which makes them all look very similar and very hard to recognize, particuilarly from a certain angle. The design of the Immortal King helmet is not bad, but it is also very far away from the interesting concept of Diablo 2 with the winged helmets

As far as the design of the armor in D3 goes, it is simply way to much out of this world, it looks way to impractical and there are even cliping issues in some cases. Your charcter keeps his weapon on the "back" even though you used a dye on your chest for example, which makes it look like it is hovering over your back or "glued" to it.

The choices for the base colour on most of the armor pieces is not well thought out. Many of the armor pieces dont match with each other, using an IK chest and Innas Pants which are baby blue in its base colour for example make your character look totally out of place. Most of the chest armor even though it is supposed to be a solid item moves "with" you, this gives it an very unbelievable look and feel.

As far as the look goes, I really can NOT say that there is even one piece I am satsified with. Sadly.

The armor in Diablo 3 feels more like it would be from World of Warcraft then a Diablo game. It also does a bad job of communicate the feeling the concept art created.

For example I am looking at Items like those in particularly which I really miss in the game

I mean the funny part is that there IS even great armor in Diablo 3! Its just not on the character!

The only good piece is IK chest.
Most set helms are terrible because they are eventually masks.

Diablo artstyle should be linked to Gothic, things like Visage of Giyua looks fun, but it belongs to another fantasy world that is not Sanctuary.

I loved loved loved the hellscape mask on my Witch Doctor and I actually at points was going out of my way to buy them just b/c I loved the look. I would also like to throw out there shoulders suck on the wd why ?!? they should be like skulls and fetishes etc imo. And I agree with one of the posters that the zuni set is VERY tame. I also have the MCK set as well and the chicken seems kinda lame.

Tal Rasha's armor on barb is the best you can ever get in this game. The only armor that fits the barbarian theme, along with some low level ones. I just dont know why Blizzard did those concept arts right, then, at the armors, just got crazy and messed it up.

I don't like most of it, because they make my characters look like cyborgs.

Style wise I like Natalya's, Blizzard needs to tone down the exaggerated looks and keep them clean and simply.

Also, have too many low armor tiers is useless since everyone rush to Inferno anyway, so much for spending so much time on designing them.
