Can't log onto battle.net on digital D2:LOD?

I recently installed D2 and D2:LOD to play with a buddy. I loaded it up and clicked battle.net and after 'checking versions' it refers me to http://www.battle.net/support/errormessages/ After searching through the classic games and adding D2 to my account I still get the same message. I'm sure the game patched because it says 1.12 in the bottom left.

My Questions is: Can I play D2:LOD on battle.net from the digital version I received from my D3:CE?
Are there any additional steps I need to take?

How did you install them? From the CD or did you add the keys to your account and download from there?

I remember some sort of issue with mixing versions of the game. I added my game keys to the website, downloaded both, installed both, and was able to play LoD.

The downloaded digital copy d2 and d2lod is patch 1.13d (latest patch). Two downloads. One might be corrupted so perhaps download new copy.
