Lots and lots of questions and a lot of answers as well, so thought I'd put together a Q&A for the console version and also if anyone has a question to add just ask and hopefully our blues will be able to find out for us.

*Remember that information on the PS4 version is not available as of yet.

First post is Questions with Answers, 2nd post is questions that don't have an answer yet(in hopes blizz can let us know).

Q: How does multiplayer work locally?
A: Up to 4 players can play on the same screen, however they cannot leave the same screen. If some players run ahead or in different directions, the camera will zoom out to accommodate everyone on the screen, but only up to a point. Once that point is reached, players who are left behind will either be forced to move (they kind of get dragged along the edge of the screen) or they will be teleported to the group automatically. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281828262#2 )

You can kind of see this in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=725joku1eAo

Q: Does the console versions have offline?
A: Yes, offline play is available on all console versions, along with local 4 player local co-op mode (same machine, same screen).

Q: Can I transfer my heros from PC version to Console version?
A: No, there is no connection between the different versions of the game and no way to transfer heroes. You can only play with other characters that are on the same network/platform as you: Battle.net (PC), PlayStation Network (PS3), or Xbox Live (Xbox 360). (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280238334#4 & https://twitter.com/Lylirra/status/344594857496555520 )

Q: I already own Diablo 3 on PC do I get it free on consoles?
A: No, you will need to rebuy the version you wish to play. The console version has been built from the ground up to be more than just a port, though – it’s a complete console game. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/8728403686#5 )

Q: What is different from the PC version to the console version?
A: A lot has changed. With controller support, Blizzard has added an 'dodge' function (called Evade), the camera has been zoomed in slightly for better views, monster density has been customised for console to make sure you have enemies on the screen, but not so many that you would be completely overwhelmed, ‘Nephalem Power Orbs’ have been added which drop randomly (like health orbs) and give a slight, but temporary boost to your character’s abilities. These are just some of the new features in the console version.

This video from PAX East covers a lot of them: http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/03/22/10-minutes-of-diablo-3-on-ps3-pax-east-2013

Q: Can I use a keyboard and mouse?
A: There is no planned keyboard and mouse support for the console versions. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/8728753562#2 )

Q: What if a friend wants to bring his hero to my house to play?
A: On the PS3 version, you have the option of downloading your hero from cloud saves or bringing your hero on a USB device. On the Xbox 360 version, you can download your heroes from the cloud, but only Gold members will be able to save when not on their home machine. If you want to save your hero’s progress while at a friend’s, but do not have a gold account, you will need a USB device. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280238334#5 & http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281758552#4 )

Q: Is there an AH or RMAH on the console version?
A: No, the console version does not have an auction house, but players can still trade as usual. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281758282#5 & http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/8729063898#4 )

Q: What patch version is the console version releasing with?
A: 1.0.7, however monster drops and density have been customised for the console version. Multiplayer experience bonuses will also be available. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9245624848?page=1#4 & http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281328586#2 )

Q: Will the console versions be patched with future patches?
A: Hopefully, Blizzard is working with Sony and Microsoft to be able to patch the game, however it is unknown how long this may take or how frequent patches will be. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281758533#4 )

Q: Can PS3 players play with Xbox 360 players or PC players?
A: No, there is no cross-play or cross-trades. All versions are limited to their own platforms. (Source: https://twitter.com/Lylirra/status/344594857496555520 & http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280238334#4 )

Q: How does looting work on the console version?
A: It’s not all that different from PC, with just a few exceptions. For example, loot is shared between local players (so ‘first come, first serve’). It’ll still work the same for online players, though – meaning if you’re being matched into an online game, your loot will be personal. You only share loot with players playing on your same machine. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9244644870#4 )

There’s also a new ‘Fast Equip’ bar that will display basic stats (health, dps, and defense) of every item you pick up. So, at a glance you can see if an item is really good for you, really bad, or can’t even be equipped by your character. You can immediately equip an item, drop it, or open your Inventory screen from the Fast Equip bar. (Source: http://www.ign.com/videos/2013/03/22/10-minutes-of-diablo-3-on-ps3-pax-east-2013 , go to about 4:04 in)

Q: Can I purchise the console version with battle.net balance?
A: No this is not available.

Q: Is there a collector's edition?
A: No, however several preorder bonus items have been added. See here for more information: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/10174614/new-diablo%C2%AE-iii-console-preorder-bonuses-and-exclusives-6-11-2013 (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9363116668#4 )

Q: How will town portals work in multiplayer? Just disabled or ports everyone to town or?
A: If someone cast town portal while you're in a multiplayer game on a single console, then everyone in the local coop party goes back to town. If you're playing a multiplayer game online, however, town portal will just send the caster back. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281828262#5 )

Q: What are the different difficulties are they the same as Monster Power?

A: Taken from here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9882328468#17

I know there is some confusion on the forums about how Easy, Normal, and Hard modes affect adventure stats, so I'm going to try and help clear that up. Those modes (Easy, Normal, and Hard) do not alter Magic Find, Gold Find, or XP Bonus in any way, and are just there so players can adjust the difficulty to their liking.

Once you're ready to handle something more challenging than Hard difficulty, however, those bonuses quickly ramp up. Here's what you can expect from Master I - Master V difficulties.

Master I: +60% Magic Find, +60% Gold Find, +120% XP Bonus
Master II: +70% Magic Find, +70% Gold Find, +140% XP Bonus
Master III: +80% Magic Find, +80% Gold Find, +160% XP Bonus
Master IV: +90% Magic Find, +90% Gold Find, +180% XP Bonus
Master V: +100% Magic Find, +100% Gold Find, +200% XP Bonus

Q: Is the Paragon System planned for us console players?
A: Yes everything up to patch 1.0.7 (brawling, paragon, monster power, infernal machine, etc) along with a few extra features are in the console version. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9245624848?page=1#4 )

Q: Loot is shared in local multi, what if I have a friend over my place and then 2 people online playing together. Is online loot shared as well? or 1/2 and 1/2?
A: Only players who are playing local co-op will share loot. Players in the party who are playing online (i.e. they were matched into your local group, but aren't playing on your same machine) will have their own loot just like on PC. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9244644870#4 )

Q: Does the console version have Elective Mode?
A: Yes Elective mode works in the console version of Diablo III just like it does in the PC version. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281829030#3 )

Q: Is there a Trade function on the console version?
A: Yes, the trade function is the same as the PC version. (Working on source)

Q: Does the game pause when my friends(local) are trying to change his skill etc?
A: If there are only local players in the game, the game will pause when the inventory or skill screens are up. If remote players are also present, the game will not pause. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9344334985#2 )

Q: Is stash shared in local?

A: If you are signed into your own profile/user for a local game, you get access to your own stash and do not have to share! (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9344334985#2 )

Q: Can I pause the game?
A: If there are only local players in the game, then yes, the game pauses when the START button is pressed or when the inventory/skill screens are up. If remote players are also present, the game will not be paused. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9344334985#2 )

Q: What are D-pad button do?
A: Pressing the D-pad up while in game will allow you to Fast Equip items. Pressing the D-pad right will cast your Town Portal, and pressing the D-pad down will allow you to access your full-screen map. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9344334985#2 )

Q: On the guest profile that plays along will it use the main profiles characters or will the guest have to make their own?
A:
How guests can play with you on same screen co-op varies between the console systems.

On the PlayStation 3, additional players will have access to any saves that any User on the system has; however, only the primary User can unlock trophies during single-system co-op.

On the Xbox 360, if additional players logs in on other profiles, they are able to load their own heroes from their own save files. They can also bring their profile and Diablo III save on a memory unit or memory stick and load it at their friend’s house, or alternatively, they can bring their save file and recover their profile from Xbox LIVE (both Silver and Gold tier accounts can do this). If the player is an Xbox LIVE Gold Tier member and they choose to use Cloud Saving from Microsoft, they can also recover both their profile and their save at their friend’s house. It's important to note that only Gold Tier members can play online with other players over Xbox LIVE, however, Silver and Gold Tier members can play locally and recover profiles.

If additional Xbox 360 players log in on a guest profiles, they cannot load their own heroes from save files. If they log in on a guest profile, they will need to create a new hero and when they quit out of the game, their hero will not be saved.

On the Xbox 360 version, each profile that is playing together can unlock achievements.

As an additional point of clarification, PS3 players that visit a friend's house for some local co-op action will be able to access their own characters from either a save on a USB stick, or by accessing their characters from cloud saves (if they have PlayStation Plus).

How this works is that at their friend’s house, the visiting player would need to create a new local User on the console, then sign into their Sony Entertainment Network (SEN) account with PS+ and pull down their save from cloud storage. They could alternatively bring over their save on a USB stick, but they will still need to create a new local User on the console in order to partake in local co-op with their character(s) from home.

Q: Will there be a beta for console versions?
A: Blizzard has no plans for a beta at this time. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281328586#2 )

Q: Will options like in the PC version be on console?(turning on damage numbers etc)
A: Yes, Options such as damage numbers, advanced tooltips, health bars, and elective mode etc are all in the console version. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9309441001#2 )

Q: What are the Hard drive requirements for PS3 and / or Xbox 360?
A:
You'll need 5mb of hard drive space to save your characters on the Xbox version, and 12mb on the PS3. The PS3 requires a bit more space due to the Trophy Pack file that needs to be included.
(Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280998875?page=3#45 )

Q: What happens to a Hardcore character if I save it to a USB then it dies on my console? Can I just reload it and bring it back to life?
A:
07/08/2013 05:56 PMPosted by Grimiku
This can be done, but it should be noted that all of the heroes are stored together with the profile, so all of your characters on the console would be overwritten with the USB version.
(Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280238334#12 )

Q: How exactly does the controls work. For someone like a DH how do you control the range of stuff like spike traps or RF bombardment?
A: Skills will automatically center on whatever monster you have targeted, or fire off in the direction your hero is facing if you don’t have a monster targeted. (Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9281268343#2 )

Q: Is Diablo3 going to be released on the Xbox One?
A: There is no current announcements or plans to bring it to the Xbox One.

Q: Will the game feature Offline LAN capabilities?
A:
08/06/2013 05:19 PMPosted by Grimiku
The Playstation 3 supports LAN, while the Xbox has a system link feature, and Diablo III will work with both of them. In short, Diablo III on console supports LAN on both systems.

(Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280998875?page=4#65 )

Q: Will the gold costs for upgrading gems and crafting items be changed at all from the PC version?
A:
08/06/2013 05:19 PMPosted by Grimiku
The gold cost for crafting on the Console version has been drastically reduced to accommodate the lack of an Auction House.

(Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280998875?page=4#65 )

Q: Is there any list available of what from 1.08 made it in to the console version?
A:
08/06/2013 05:19 PMPosted by Grimiku
Some of the changes patch 1.0.8 brought to the PC version were selected to be present in the console version as well, but not everything. Some of the things that made it over are class skill adjustments (including healing), Nekerat the Key Warden has chance to drop keys in addition to the plans, multiplayer xp/mf/gf bonuses, and improved combat notifications.

(Source: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/9280998875?page=4#65 )

Q: Will I be able to buy D3 for PS3/xbox360 from the Playstation Network Store/Xbox Store as a Digital Download? What would be the data size for the hard drive space needed to accomplish this? Also, If we are able to purchase D3 from the Playstation Network store, will Playstation Plus Members get a discount on the game?

A: D3 is now available for preorder on the PlayStation store for EU and Aus and will be added to the US store soon(in time for release) however there is no known PS+ discount.

Download size is still unknown.

Sticky Requested/ Great post Narull, I feel like I will be linking this thread quite a bit. :P

As a suggestion, perhaps with each answer you can link to the accompanying Blue post or video that directly answers the question. This is just to avoid people with their own doubts asking for sources.

Love your work mate. :)

Q: How will town portals work in multiplayer? Just disabled or ports everyone to town or?

Grimiku has confirmed that TP will port all local players back to town while working normally in regards to online players.

06/11/2013 03:37 PMPosted by Grimiku
If someone cast town portal while you're in a multiplayer game on a single console, then everyone in the local coop party goes back to town. If you're playing a multiplayer game online, however, town portal will just send the caster back.

Q: Loot is shared in local multi, what if I have a friend over my place and then 2 people online playing together. Is online loot shared as well? or 1/2 and 1/2?

It is suggested that will be the case with mixed local co-op and online play, a rule of "loot per console" or per instance if you will (much like TP's actually). But this hasn't been strictly confirmed so maybe a Blue can clear that up.

06/11/2013 11:32 AMPosted by Grimiku
"First come, first served" loot style only applies to shared screen coop play. The loot on your screen will be all yours if you're playing online, just like on the PC version.

Q: Seen in one of the e3 vids "Nightmare(Easy)" What does this mean? is there also different difficulties like Monster Power?

The difficulty in the parantheses (in this case "Easy") is indeed the console version of Monster Power, as confirmed by Lylirra here;

Difficulty levels and Monster Power operate a little differently on console. There will still be Normal, Nightmare, Hell, and Inferno, and completing one mode will unlock the next mode -- just like on PC. Also, within each of these modes players will able to select from different difficulty levels to suit their preferred level of challenge. On console, however, there are only 8 settings: Easy, Medium, Hard, Master I, Master II, Master III, Master IV, and Master V. At Medium and higher in Inferno, density does increase, but the increase won't be as significant as what you'd typically see on PC (due to performance issues). Similar to MP on PC, higher difficulty settings present more powerful enemies that will have opportunity to reward players with more powerful loot.

For perspective, here's the current scaling (note that this may change before we ship):

Easy = Monster Power 0
Medium = Monster Power 2
Hard = Monster Power 4
Master I = Monster Power 6
Master II = Monster Power 7
Master III = Monster Power 8
Master IV = Monster Power 9
Master V = Monster Power 10

As for a question I'd like to know the answer for; Will the PS3 and PS4 versions be cross compatible considering they will both be played over PSN?

Thanks Narull.

Thanks people, I was hoping someone might have seen an answer I missed(hard to keep up with everything!)

DamienJohn, I choose not to add your question cause I don't think we can expect an answer for now. PS3/PS4 crossplay etc I think will be up to Sony in some form and I know pretty much all PS4 information is not available atm. It is a question I'd love to know as well though.

It's been confirmed that everything up to 1.07 will be present in the game as well as a modified version of 1.08's monster density patch. So yes, paragon levels will be in the game.

Firesenz: as stated above there really is no way to do this as it has an offline mode and isn't linked to battle.net.

Added malikah's and Armyofvials question.

Hello!
Belong to the Brazilian Forum, however sometimes give a last Forum U.S. to enjoy your content

I have 2 questions regarding the topic and the game console
1 - If I buy my Pre Order Diablo 3 (Ps3) and catch lv 60 with my characters when I buy my Ps4, I'll have to redo it again?

2 - currently the Brazilian Forum lacking in this respect to Diablo 3 content in consoles, then would the permission of the creator of the topic so I could translate it to Portuguese and then post on the Brazilian Forum

Thank you!

Hey Narull I have a new question;

Are the Challenges as seen in the menu the same as what we have now as achievements? And will the game achievements as we know them be the same as the console trophies?

Speaking of controllers. How exactly does the controls work. I mean its obviously no longer click to move since the video shows movement through the thumbstick. But it looks like you only do stuff in the direction you are facing. It doesnt look to bad for most barb attacks (except not sure how he controls how far to leap) but for someone like a DH how do you control the range of stuff like spike traps or RF bombardment?
