Lag spikes, dropped connections

Hi, looking for some help, I'm not too tech savvy but I've been having lots of problems with lag spikes and disconnecting issues. Here's the results my pathping and tracert tests. I can't tell what they mean. What is the issue and is it fixable from my end?

thanks

Yep, those look great. A few more questions then.

Are you, or anyone else on your network running streaming software or torrents? Could another program on your PC be interfering? We can try the following which, while time consuming, should be done once in a while anyway.

Scan for Malware/Virus software:

1. Download, install, and update Malwarebytes (free version is fine). Boot into safe mode and run a FULL (not quick version) scan with the game up and gibberish in the login fields. Some malware only activates under those conditions.
2. When that scan is done, run a FULL virus scan with an updated virus scanner. Microsoft Security Essentials is free and decent these days. Some others will recommend Avast. Better than Nortons, MacAffee, etc.

Once that is done, you can try running it in safe mode with networking on. This will rule out other software interfering. Your virus/malware will be off during this time, which is another reason I had you make sure the PC is clean.

if this were the case you would see higher latency throughout the entire trace starting with the user side. i know this from personal experience. when torrenting my ping will jump up a lot and i have to limit the bandwidth on it to be able to play D3 because the torrent will hog all the bandwidth otherwise.

other then that very sound advice to proceed with looking for viruses/spyware. some of those like to brodcast a lot of outgoing traffic or limit program use :(
