Self-found playstyle - big in US and EU forum

Would you like Blizzard to implement a checkbox Self-found mode when creating a softcore or hardcore character?

In a nutshell, SF is no trading, no dropping of items for others, no access to auction houses, but instead playing with items that you can buy from vendors (big whoop!), find yourself or make yourself.

It would be a separate server, just like hardcore is, so that you know everyone in a SF public game is legit and under the same restrictions.

Please start threads here to discuss and check out this thread for all of the fine tuning that we have come up with:

If they implemented this with a ladder system would be fun, everything found is BOA.

I'd play that

I believe forum MVP MissCheetah proposed some details on exactly that.

Please also take a look at my thread in US general forum where I propose the idea of a self-found server separate from the live D3 servers:

There is a growing community on the EU side that would like a self-found implementation. Please echo your support there as well.

@BossDog, they seem to be locking/deleting your threads in the EU forums but are not giving a reason why. At least the blues in the US forum will post a reason why.

The ladder idea is a great idea and it has been kicked around. Our intention is to not take too many resources away from the itemization patch they are working on. I would like to see the basics of SF implemented now and then later they could put in the fine touches such as a separate forum for Selfies, Ladders, etc.

Self-found is a separate playstyle and NOT a fix for itemization issues.

P.S. I see posts here that complain of excessive lag:

Rubberbanding? Create a new server for Self-found and move the Hardcore also to this server. Because there are fewer players that play both styles, everyone benefits from less lag and rubberbanding. Also, this implementation will make it easy to select SF softcore and SF hardcore play. Win, win.
