Picked up where I left off at the outpost. Entered the Stinging Winds and got another Crumbling Vault. Already did that one before the outpost, so I rebooted. I don't really have hard and fast rules, and getting as much different content in my run as possible is really more in line with what I'm trying t o do.
Played all the way through and cleared the Oasis. Got a key, which is always a bonus for doing mid MP runs. Another bonus of full game runs: you get to do some of those little side quests and mini-events that just never come up otherwise:
...Hey, you know what I forgot? Fallen maniacs aren't just in Act 3!
...I know I mentioned it before, but Backlash is awesome:
The most intense fight was probably a double pack that just kind of "appeared". At the time, too much was going on that I wasn't even really able to register all the affixes. At those times, it usually just pays to keep swinging.
Looks like the snakes were Fire Chain/Waller/Vortex/something and the dervishes were Extra Health/Arcane/Fast/Reflect Damage. Not the worst combo, and in the open field, so really not too bad.
Should hopefully have ZK and Belial stories in the near future. I'm pretty sure I'm just going to keep my farming build for ZK. For Belial I'm thinking of ditch my less useful skills (Backlash/Dashing Strike) in exchange for something with a little more DPS (Overawe/WoL) to minimize the fight time.

See Kormac. See Kormac die. Die Kormac, die.
See Demiwraith. See Demiwraith run. Run Demiwraith, run.
The story behind that picture: I was assaulted by a bunch of Mortar/Molten/Electrified/Horde dervishes. They threw about 50 mortars on me, then surrounded me. And started spinning and piling up the fire damage. I red-screened, hit Serenity, hit my potion and ran out of there. I kept running. The picture above, where Serenity is from more than 15 seconds later finally off cooldown again. So that's with me having gained about 8K Life from Serenity, 12K from my potion, and another 20K-ish from running for 20 seconds (minus the mortars that hit me).
This really shows why I like having a variety of healing forms on my Monk. When you're fleeing for your life having 800+ Life Regen (1100+ with the Templar) means that while running away, your situation is actually improving. I ran in circles and then half way around the vault with those guys chasing me.
OK. This picture is happier. Apparently you can get a Sun Keeper by punching a rock. Only netted me 1.5m, but that's more than half way to another 20 gloves crafted.
A decent double pack with tons of crowd control. Vampiric/Plagued/Waller/Jailer and Frozen/Electric/Molten/Nightmare. Not for the first time I realize that some of the difficulty in this game comes from the fact that Frozen counts as an elemental affix and not a crowd-control one, and so it can appear on elites that already have a crow control affix. Pretty sneaky, Blizzard.
So I made it to the archives with minimal fuss in Act 2. Crafted another 20 gloves. Currently at 240 crafted thus far. Got another Wizard trifecta, but a weak one. When I make my next Wizard, these will be the back-up gloves for when I kill that Wizard off. I'm really good at killing Wizards, so there's a good chance they'll see some action. Still looking for that miracle glove craft, but these gloves are starting to cost me about 2m to 2.5m per batch of 20, depending on how many tomes I have to buy.
Next up: Archives then hopefully ZK and the Big B.
( P.S. thanks for all the support everyone! )
( P.P.S. "Die Kormac, die" is not intended to be read as German )
WTF did I just watch?
For the record, I was going more for:

Ding! Level 63!
Act 3, Keeps 2 gets a bad rap for fallen maniacs. I think there may actually be more of these guys in Act 2. Here there were about a dozen, and I was all like, "Hey. That's right, they're in ZK's archives, too."
So ZK when down real fast with my typical high MP solo build, which is:
I was so worried about Belial and his enrage timer that I just went and converted to a full, more aggressive combo-cookie build:
I'm very glad I made the switch. Took him down just before he went into his second round of exploding the ground with pools. Backlash and Dashing Strike are nearly useless against Blelial, so I'm pretty sure that going with almost doubling my DPS was probably the right call here.
In case you're wondering what scares the bejeebus out of me, it's getting caught by a double pack like this one, but on one of the stairs. If this fight was a quarter screen to the left, its gg-4-me.
Yes, I just had to open that chest and get the gold from it.
After all this, Ghom was easy and went down faster than something on a something with a something something something then something something something went to pay her but she gave the me money back. This being a family forum, that last bit is censored a tad. The point is, Ghom wasn't difficult at all.
Onward to the battlefield!
Teckno, man, just get yourself some LoH or so and you'll be able to play anywhere in Inferno you want.
Anyway, Azmo has fallen. The whole of Act 3 was more or less a blur. Before 1.0.8, that was all you could find people running, and so I think it's gotten to the point where I can do most of it with little attention. Gotta keep yourself from getting complacent, though. Not many more highlights.
Took this picture a bit late, but there was no real place to stand, Phase Beasts and Succubi originally. I guess because I don't have an SSD or anything, my screen sort of freezes and studders for a second when I take screen captures. So I don't always have time or feel comfortable getting the best screenshots.
This is a neat little thing I do in Act 3. Stand in the furnace and let it shoot fire. They do practically no damage but generate lots of little dodges. Have I ever mentioned how much I like Backlash+LS ?
I've crafted 300 gloves so far and these new ones are the best yet. Had to craft a bunch of emeralds and switch gems around, but I'm loving these. If the CD% was a bit higher, I think I'd move on to crafting something else, but I'm not quite sure. It may be another 300 pairs until I see ones this good again. I've got 350 more DEs or so, and I'm open to suggestions.
Yeah. This is where things start getting scary...
Ding! Level 64!
Double drop! (Already have the plans, but still a cool sight.)
This may have been my toughest fight up until that point in the run. For the first time I wasn't able to isolate Nekarat. Had to fight him, a Mallet Lord, a Mounted Armadon, some succubi, and one or two Morlu Incinerators all at once. Serenity is a must this fight, and a large EHP pool really pays off. Being terrorized the whole fight means you almost don't heal.
Now this actually WAS the toughest fight in the whole run. I was nervous about it before it started. Because with those affixes, once the fight begins, I'm not getting away. They just suddenly appear next to you and whack you. The whole fight involved a lot of running, 3 Serenities, and 4 potions but...
I got 'em.
This is what happens when you get a little complacent. I wasn't even fighting elites. Just 3 regular Mallet Lords and a whole bunch of other white trash enemies mixed together. Red screened.
After all that, I forgot to save the screenshot of me killing Diablo. Typical. No a big deal, though. We all know Diablo is a pale challenge compared to the rest of Act 4. One of the things that genuinely surprised me was that I didn't proc NDE once during the whole run. I red screened in every single Act, often multiple times. But no NDEs. So WTG, me.
I'm certain I'm not ready for MP-7, though. Frankly, I'm not sure if I was ready for all of this run if I hadn't crafted upgrades along the way. The best of 300 pairs of gloves crafted gave me about +170K EHP which ultimately made a huge difference. I just felt more solid than when I started in Act 1.
So thanks to everyone for following along with me. And thanks to especially to everyone who posted in my thread. It took two weeks, but I probably would have taken longer (or never finished) if I didn't have the motivation of this thread to keep me going.
Stats at the end of the run
102K DPS (+4% to elites) [-700 from starting stats]
1.18m EHP [+170K from starting stats]
1.637 APS [ -.126, actually a little noticeable]
6,255 armor [+93]
879 AR [+19]
73K Life [+9K]
722 Life regen
Great job, Demi. I'd bulk up a bit before taking on MP7. It's not the extra 9.6% damage that will get you--it's slogging through the extra 40% health that will give you more opportunities to slip up. I can get through long stretches of MP6 without dying at about that DPS, although I'm not playing with Serenity or NDE, either. I think MP7 might be doable with those skills in play, but I'd still bulk up the DPS a bit.
Yeah, it's likely "doable" on MP-7. Not something I'm likely to try, though. Act 4 can get pretty hairy and random stuff just happens. With NDE I figure I could maybe get through Act 4 MP-7 with no deaths 90% of the time? 80%? I don't know. Certainly not with the level of confidence I'd need to run this.
As I've gone through these runs on increasing MP, I've noticed just what you said. That you're just slogging through more monster health. And at a certain point, increasing your DPS by 40% each level is just no longer an option. So you have to accept that you'll be slogging through them more slowly and maybe get more than a 10% EHP increase to make up for it.
Additionally, I just kinda except that my stats won't quite be as good (relatively) as the previous run and that each MP run will be a little more dangerous than the last one.
My current targets would roughly be 125K DPS, 1.3m EHP for playing through the whole game on MP-7. I don't think I'm going to make it there anytime soon, if at all. I'll need some insane crafts or drops to get there.
Anyway, it took me two weeks to do just this run, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to have significantly less D3 time going forward. I think this may be the peak for this particular character for the foreseeable future.
I don't really have any special reductions on my gear right now, but I'd probably be going with the vs elites if it came up (if I got a Litany or something). I wouldn't put too much stock in the exact target numbers, though. Those are just numbers that look about right. After that it's mostly a combination of how MP-7 feels in "safe" areas and in pubs, as well as how tired I am of waiting to get better gear, that determines whether I'm ready for the next MP run.
Congrats Demi! I know you were a little hesitant to tackle MP6, but looks like you had everything well in hand. I really appreciate all the updates. Your screenshot of a teleporting mallet lord made me break out in a sweat.
Congrats once again. If you ever decide to push on to MP7 please consider tracking your progress again. Fun read.
Okay. So you're not accounting for dodge, is what you're saying.
