Self-found supporters please echo your ideas, thoughts, criticism, and support in the EU general forum threads. There are many players on EU that want a self-found implementation added to D3. I started a request for new self-found only servers thread in the EU general forum.

Below is the text of my EU self-found servers request thread:
Title: New Self-found ONLY server Please
Glad you asked. The whole idea is to be able to play on SF multiplayer games where you know everyone is under the exact same restrictions. It takes cheating, botting, and twinking almost completely out of the game and it gives you satisfaction that you can beat the game using only items that you make yourself or find yourself, and to play with like-minded individuals.
What we have right now is player choice in ignoring the auction houses and not trading. What we want in self-found is a server supported rule set the prohibits buying, selling, trading, auction house activities and more. Having a choice to ignore is not the same as a restriction.
The account creation stuff makes little sense and seems to be regression from the current account system towards Diablo II.
Also many of the restrictions make no sense. There is no reason to Account Bound all items if all forms of item transfer are disabled as there would be no way to transfer items in any case (the flag serves no purpose).
The no carrying restrictions make no sense as well. As long as there is any form of coop player there will be people carrying other people. You could introduce level restrictions but even then there is nothing to stop a top range character from playing with a under geared character and killing all the monsters for him.
Why separate servers? It could just be introduced with a single character slot (why multiple self-found characters since that defeats the purpose?) that can only join solo games. Deleting that character resets all progress (truly self found). No trade, no AH, no help, no previous stuff, the core of self found.
Trade being disabled and the server preventing one from picking up another players drops is what makes gold, gear, gems, etc. account bound. As long as items/gold can NOT be bought, sold, traded, and cannot be dropped by A and picked up by B everything is basically account bound through restrictions.
Blizzard could limit the level range on games joined. Restricting max level characters would be a bit more difficult, but is doable. A single character slot would allow for mixing self-found and non-self-found characters which is a violation of the rule set and leads to polluting the self-found project.
For example, I play softcore and have a maxed out Blacksmith with Death metalworking achievement. It would be a violation of the rule set I described to have a supposed fresh self found character use that blacksmith. My blacksmith was leveled up and trained through non-self-found sources known as the G-AH and player trading.
The account creation is the same like we have on the live D3 servers. A player logs in, creates characters, plays the game. The US and EU servers have a rule set that has the RMAH enabled, while the Asia live D3 server rule set has the RMAH disabled permanently. A separate servers means:
- separate friends list
- separate achievement record (I have US and EU achievement records)
- separate character profile
- hardcore self found
- softcore self-found
Why more than one character? How many characters do you have on your account?
*checks the EU server profile*
WoW you've been a busy little worker bee. :0)
How does Blizzard pay for the current Asia live D3 server since that server has RMAH permanently disabled and it was disabled at game release. I did propose a banner ad idea, in another thread, to cover the cost of server up-keep, etc.
The current live D3 servers would remain untouched if new self-found only servers were deployed. Having players spread across 2 or more servers would actually lower lag. Its called load balancing.
Keep the good fight going! You are providing excellent answers for some pretty tough, but also excellent, questions.
I'm guessing that the blues are trying to remain neutral so are not providing their feedback to our threads.
P.S. Someone posted some questions to you in my thread.

I agree with everything the OP has stated except the bigger stash size. In my opinion it should essentially be the exact same game as Softcore except of course for the restriction on trading. So if additional stash pages are unlocked then everyone should receive them across all leagues, not just self-found players.
Regardless, it's a great post BossDog! :)
The difference is it creates a legitimized culture and community that is endorsed officially. Think of it as a challenge mode alike Hardcore. Hardcore = challenges the player to stay alive, Self-found = challenges the player to only use drops they find.
While I'm at it;
"Why do you need a "gold star" next to your name and special recognition? No one cares!"
-A self-found mode =/= a reward, and it's not intended to be any type of special recognition. Look at hardcore characters on someones profile and notice how they have a red border and text. Do you think that's a reward? No. It's a distinction. There's a big difference.
"This doesn't fix itemization/ when itemization is fixed no-one will play self-found"
-Indeed it doesn't. Self-found is intended as a fun playstyle not a solution to the games flaws. As long as trading exists, there will always be a self-found niche, it's not an answer to the games perceived shortcomings.
"The developer's shouldn't spend time and resources on this when there are still concerns with the core game."
-Agreed! We are not demanding SF implementation be the no.1 priority of the dev, we understand there are important issues that have precedence and they should receive attention first. We are simply discussing the mechanics of the mode and how it would be implemented if and when that ever happens.
The following excerpt comes from my post here:
With self-found we are removing the efficiency that the auction houses and player to player trading provide. One is going to need more space because crafting will be much more important to progression, thus way more crafting mats being amassed. One might save several crafts as they might not be usable at the time of craft but when combined with other future upgrades the crafted items becomes usable and may enable specific builds.
