lol are you serious^^, even with cm 3aps and 50cc you dont teleport(wormhole) that fast throu map, in a race you'd lose against barb and tr-monk, probably even dh and speeddoc
wizards teleport is bad, just bad, even stuck at some stupid objects... butthurt nk'd d2 alltime noobs cried about telesorc before d3 released so this is what we get.
All classes have the same basic movement speed. If you are upset because Wizards do not have a skill to increase their movement speed then take a look at teleport as it is the skill designed to supplement a wizards ability to move. In addition wizards have more skills/runes that slow or stop enemies than any other class (Blizzard-Grasping Chill, Ray of Frost, Wave of Force, Slow Time, Temporal Flux, etc.).
If these are not good enough for you then stack movement speed on your gear.
The hell you don't. You cover a lot of ground with Teleport, and you can get items that reduce the cooldown.
Wizard's Teleport is not only just fine, it's a great defensive skill.
Stuns and freezes are useful but...
I'm going to assume you are joking about the snares because snares are pretty much useless vs. most elite packs because you are either already confined to close quarters; they have any of the following affixes: teleporter, knockback, nightmarish, fast or vortex; or they are any of the following enemy types: soul lasher, phase beast, corrupted angel, leaper, spiderling, tremor, reviled, lacuni, oppressor, phantom, terror demon. As long as none of that stuff is present, snares are useful, otherwise, no--just no.
Wizards indeed have a lot of mitigation skills and runes to use that play around with the enemies ability to reach and deal damage. The problem is that with each class, there are certain builds that are far and above superior to anything you could create yourself.
When we look at the wizard as an example, you are either SNS/WW, or you are Archon. If you are running anything else, you are severely handicapping your ability to play the game on the higher MP's in an efficient manner. The problem arises because these builds require a strict set of skills.
SNS/WW: In no particular order
1)Frost Nova Xx rune
2)Energy twister WW rune
3)Energy Armor Xx rune
4)Explosive Blast Xx rune
5)Diamond Skin Xx rune
6) Option Slot ie Teleport, Slow Time, ect.....
7) Critical Mass
The above build has a specific set of skills that all interact with each other and provide the best possible situations for a wizard with the right gear set.
Archon: In no particular order
1) Archon Xx rune
2) Diamond Skin or Frost Nova w/ Xx rune
3) Energy Armor Xx rune
4) Magic Weapon Xx rune
5) Familiar Xx rune
6) Energy Twister w/ WW or Shock Pulse w/ Living Lightning
7) Critical Mass
Again, the above build has skill synergy that all work together to provide a fair amount of added mitigation, raw dps, and the ability to sustain Archon indefinitely. The only limiting factor is the buffs which only last 4-5 minutes at a time.
If you compare those two builds with anything that is not remotely close to those builds, you will not be able to produce a character that can farm efficiently, farm on higher MP's 7 and up, or provide the skill synergy that the above builds provide.
People want to run Meteor based builds.....back in the day, there was the Poison Hydra build that got nerfed. Then you have the long list of jank builds that people put together just to tinker on the Low Mp levels 0-3.
The point is this: Each character class needs to have a suite of viable builds that can reasonably complete all the content in Diablo 3 including the ability to farm up to MP10. When you are creating a character and you say to yourself "Should I make an SNS wizard or an Archon" something is wrong. You feel like you are forced into something you may not want to do. I believe the developers intended for Diablo 3 to have hundreds of viable builds covering all the classes; however, that idea never panned out. Each class needs more truly viable build diversity.
LOL, do you mean you would like be this?
This is the fastest i meet.
By right, ...wizard should be the fastest in mobility.
I recalled from LoTR movie, ...Gandalf said "Run, Shadowfax. Show us the meaning of haste!" that means wizards are always in a hurry!
