It is as I feared. The tech will only check the router and the first hop after. Your issue is higher than that on hop 4. This does indeed need to be escalated....and is why I warned you. Follow what Morogoth suggested :) He is usually correct.

please i need some help. I've been playing since launch with no problems, until about 2 weeks ago. Now it's unplayable, with latency spikes of 1000 ms, and with no less than 350-400ms. I play from chile, usually my ping to US servers is between 150 and 200.

Problems seem to be related to att servers. Here is a trace to a random Battlefield3 US server, wich shows it is not a simple distance to server problem.

this seems like part of the problem on the second trace. i dunno though.
it just seems odd you would be routed to italy.

as far as the first one though. ya its that att.net server that seems to be doing something.

I have the exactly the same problem from HK. It's been like that since the last maintenance.

Morogoth, I am not doubting your technical knowledge at all, but are you certain that it is ISP related? I have contacted some IRL friends this morning and the problem seems to affect all HK, SG players, and thus since the last maintenance as well. Seems like one heck of a coincidence that it happened simultaneously to all of us, with different ISPs and even different countries (SG) ...

This is really annoying. Sometimes it works for an hour or so (latency at 150-160) and then, bam, it starts getting messed up and the latency goes from 400 to 1200 which makes the game unplayable.

To Lordnuke: SG, HK, New Zealand and Australia do play on US server and when you buy the game at the store, it is the US version of it, you moron. And we don't have access to the RMAH from HK, no matter what client we use (at least from HK, don't know about SG and the others). Get your fact straight before polluting a discussion with your half backed theories .... imbecile
