Goblins portals

This expansion writes itself:

With a vacancy in the hierarchy of hell, Mammon the Lord of Greed has begun his invasion of Sanctuary. His minions run rampant through the land, generating chaos and discord as they pillage across the land. Seeking revenge for his fallen brother, Ghom the Lord of Gluttony, Mammon has set his sights on the brave heroes who dared to insult the Lord of Greed.

New Companion: Treasure Goblin
Not all those in the employ of the Lord of Greed are happy with their tenure. A growing number of the lesser minions have grown dissatisfied with their increasingly marginalized role in Mammon's new order. The Lord of Greed has supplemented his own forces with agents in the service of the fallen Prime Evils and these new soldiers do not look kindly upon the Goblinkin. One such creature has boldly stepped forward with an offer of an alliance, for the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Passive Gold and Magic Find Ability.
Increased Pick Up Radius.
Passive Movement Bonus.

New Realm: The Domain of Greed
The chaotic lands of Greed are teeming with the minions of the fallen Prime Evils. The forces of the Burning Hells are vying for position in the newly formed Army of Greed. The landscape of the twisted Domain of Greed shows influence from both the coveted realm of Sanctuary and the ungainly wildness of the Burning Hells themselves. Portals to the realm are becoming more stable, allowing transport between realms, but none have returned from the Domain of Greed unscathed.

New Enemy: Lillith, Queen of the Succubi
The First Daughter of Cydea has pledged her forces to the Lord of Greed for revenge against the heroes who slew her mother and have been wreaking havoc with her succubi brethren. Considered the Chief Lieutenant among Mammon's forces her imposing stature and wicked cruelty are legendary even among the devils of the Burning Hells. Her combat ability is unquestioned, even among the angelic hierarchy as Lilith fought many campaigns against the light during the Sin War.

Increased Stash Capacity:
Not all those opposed to Mammon's war are there for ideals or morals. Some see it as a waste of opportunity. One such creature is Helix, the Treasure Pygmy. Knowing his prowess in battles could not hope to match those of Sanctuary's Champions, Helix has instead offered to keep safe the possessions of the heroes...for some modest compensation.

I mean seriously. I just writes itself.

i like this, i know what type of direction the game would be going...it sounds fun

I wonder if there is a portal that exists in the game from a particular goblin thats different from the others in which instead of killing him we wait for him to open the portal and jump in with him.

That would be fun.

the problem with the companion is that he would the most efficient companion to farm with. Therefore all other companions become obsolete.

I mean it is so obvious that the secret level should have been Greed's land. Who in their right mind truly thought unicorns were the right creation for a secret level? I mean how stupid!!! It is a disgrac to the game and series. It should really be fixed!

If you killed a goblin while his portal was up and it stayed open; where would it lead to?

I think where it leads is only available in the console version.

Same place Morrigan went to in 'Witch Hunt', most likely. Buy Dragon Age 3 and find out? O.o

When I first started d3, I remember trying to get in those portals, was disappointed when I realized it was impossible. I thought it would be something like phase beast challenges in Torchlight.

No one knows for sure, but Abd al-Hazir had this to say on the matter:

"Some devious little goblins have been robbing our merchants! When pursued, they simply open portals and disappear with a most aggravating chuckle. The peasantry seem to believe that the goblins serve a great demon lord known as Greed and furthermore, that their portals lead to Greed's domain! A ludicrous notion, truly."

blizzard, idc when u do it rather its expansion or sooner, but make greeds domain. a instance that has a low chance of opening whenever u kill a goblin. greeds domain will have the most epic gold drops/loot in the game.

pls do it.

It would be cool if there were 100s of random dungeons that could randomly spawn from the goblins portal, including Greed's domain. It could add a whole new level of play to an ordinary run.

Are you suggesting you've seriously never been through the goblin portal?

It leads to a dark room. You can't really see anything around you, but it smells horrible. Musty and Dank. You pull out your Burning Axe of Sankis that you haven't had a chance to brim yet, hoping it's flames will illuminate this dark dungeon.

Now that you can see, you take a look around and see about 15 treasure goblins. Something isn't right. They have malice in their eyes and evil in their hearts. You start to realize, they've armed themselves with various weapons they've found around Sanctuary: Baseball bats, tire irons, and chains.

Crack! Lights out.

You awaken hours later, with a splitting headache. You feel the back of your head, it's warm and sticky. Blood. You find they've tossed you in a ditch in the Fields of Misery. The bleating cries of the goat men echo across the battlefield, and they're coming your way.

You reach for your trusty sword and/or board, only to find that they're gone! In fact, as you look yourself over, you soon realize all your gear is gone. Gone! Some of you have also had your AmEx taken, and the statement isn't going to be pretty.

And what's worse, those little devils have replaced it with duct tape, cardboard, and a football helmet.

The time has come to fight your way out, and hunt down those little thieves!

The developers could balance it themselves. Like for instance this particular goblin does not share magic find % items equipped on him. And the abilities are not ALL on. The player would have to choose which ones they wanted and prioritize, like you do with current companions. You could get 20% Gold Find or 20% Magic Find, but not both. You could get 7 yard pickup radius or 10% movement speed, but not both. I think for his final skill he should have some kind of AoE confuse/stun or an AoE slow/snare. I mean as it stands now I think a lot of people use the scoundrel exclusively for his 3% passive critical bonus.

I mean I am sure other options could be given as well, ditching one or all of the suggestions in favor of less "thematic" choices and more "practical" abilities, but really just spitballing options here. I would really like to see some new companions, the game should be geared for the multiplayer experience but there are times I want to solo stuff (especially when I start a new character) and a new companion would be a nice change.
