Diablo® III

PS3 Frame rate?

I've come across a few articles from PAX East showing where the PS3 framerate was barely 30 fps and suffered with multiple enemies on the screen. Now I get that this was an early version and there was still plenty of time to optimize, but what is the current goal for PS3? Will it be consistently 30 fps (or 60?) Thanks!

Where are these videos of framerate drops? Everything I've seen has looked incredibly smooth so far. Keep in mind the monster density and skill effects have been scaled to get the best performance from the hardware.

same... E3 was the multiplayer demo on stage right? There didn't seem to be any framerate hiccups:

"Unfortunately, Diablo 3's performance on PS3 currently isn't up to snuff, with a frame rate that seems to average at below 30 frames per second. This doesn't bode well for when extra players and online play will be added to the mix - but this is also a work in progress, so here's hoping it gets tightened up prior to release."

Again, I know this is probably from a very EARLY build and I'm show they can and have tighten things up. But coming from this current generation it seems that some developers have always had a harder time getting the PS3 up to snuff compared to the Xbox 360. I'm excited for the game and I have already pre-ordered (considering I've played Diablo 3 on less than ideal laptop and PC). Just wanting the best experience.

Again, for people who don't have high-end PC's or haven't played Diablo 3, I think it's going to look great. But these little thing I worry about being a PS3 user as we've always gotten shafted with games (unless it's a Naught Dog game, of course).

"Housing four players on one screen equals four times the fiddling in menus, after all. It’s not local only – you can mix online and off, with two or three players on a sofa and the rest recruited over PSN – but that’s the PS3 version’s headline feature, despite the fact that it hasn’t made it into this first playable demo. Blizzard says this is because it wants the focus to fall on the work it has done on Diablo III’s controls and interface, but we suspect the framerate, seemingly capped at 30fps and tanking to half that when the screen gets busy, also played a part in ensuring this first hands-on was a solitary experience."

Again, hope these issues are fixed before final release (though I've already pre-ordered it so what do I care!)

Ya because all the games in E3 run on high end PC. even xbox/PS versions demo ran on high end PC.

That's rubbish, we ran our game on Xbox at E3,

Ehm, that's wholly expected as the PS3 is 2006 technology, of course the game isn't going to look as pretty. If you want a game that looks on par if not better than the PC version then you should wait for the PS4 version.

I've watched literally every gameplay video I can find for the console version and am still yet to see any noticeable drops in FPS. As soon as I do I will have some concerns but I'm not going to base my opinion off a written article.
