I've been playing this game on and off for over a year and a half now. Throughout the progression I have made on my toons, I realized that I can't get the gear that I wanted from drops like legendaries and what not. So I figured,I stopped wasting my time to farmed as many millions or billions of gold just to get the "high-end" drops from the auction house. My conclusion was crafting my own.
Now crafting your own items is a 50-50 chance, granted the fact that I have made a couple items that boost up alot of damage and stats. Plus on the good note they are not in the millions or billions on crafting them. Yes folks they are not, but don't take it the wrong way, although it may take you 10-100 tries before you get the item that would surely like and yes that would be roughly up to the millions of gold by trying out your luck. I won't go through all the details about that. I assumed alot of players know about that.
My major question is... (drum roll),,,,, CAN I TEACH/LEARN HOW TO SOCKET ITEMS? I don't know if this type of question was raised or not but I think it's about time if we can teach/learn this ability.
I have seen/gotten items from mobs that have nice stats but the one that I currently wear is a bit better because mine has a socket whereas the one that dropped don't. sure it sounds overkill but it serves a purpose. If that ability can be obtain an item that has already a socket can still add another socket slot. And yes One is enough for each item that can be socketed except shoulders and bracers. I haven;t seen any items that have socket on those. Anyways, what I'm saying here Dear Blizzard team, is how to learn/teach socket items.
This is just a random guess of how much it cost, This are just random numbers that came out of my head so bare with me.
Head - 300k
Chest - 500k
Legs - 350k
Feet - 200k
1 Hand weapons and Offhands - 750k - 1 mill
2 hand weapons 1.5 mill
Ammy - 500k
Rings - 400k
And the kick off to is "BIND ON ACCOUNT", so anything that gets socketed is a BOA, not tradable no more. or if not if you sell it on the auction house that socketed item will lose the socket slot . just for fairness. I know alot of people will go crazy and start socketing random items and charge other players for huge and I mean huge amount of unbelievable prices.
Anyways this is just me rambling but hopefully this will be reach in the wonderful hands of our GM's here.
I see where you getting at, that would be helpful with those scale prices and at the appropriate levels.
For sure with a 5 mill for a lvl 63 weapon socket slot would be a piece of cake for most players. I think that would be appropriate for that price.
Sockets add a huge increase to value in most cases of a good item, makes it worth ten times more at least. Either adding a socket would have to be in the 200 to 1000 million coins range or when you added a skill to an item like + 6 Crit chance, it would need to be the same price. Since the item is BoA then I think the price should be lower, but to add a socket to an item should be more than to just walk up and put one in anything.
My idea posted here was to salvage a number of matching items before the jeweler/blacksmith/mystic could do such a feat. So rather than get a socket for an absurd amount of money from a gold farm botter, you would have to salvage 25? 50? 100? socket items of the same type first. This requires play time not gold, which is a way better way to monitor peoples crafts.
The same method could be done for all changes to an item. You want life steal on that one handed weapon, then you have to bring the mystic 50 weapons which have life steal on them. They all are stored in the shop, kind of like how our stash is, when it if full, you would now see the option to add life steal to an item.
This should replace one of the skills already in the item, or be an "add on" depending..... on what the goal of editing and the vision is.
But it really makes no difference guys, check the posts, " Blizzard has no plans for the immediate future to fix anything."
So i think it is almost time to sell our accounts and get out, it could be years before we see anything like this.
I mean, all of the people who for to Para 100 have now reason to play now anyway, they do not even give you a reward item or anything and the achievements are insulting? you get a picture on your banner?
That would be great addition to what I've posted. and yes I do feel your frustration. I may not have a Para 100, but worth of reward for getting to that para level would atleast sate your accomplishment for such items.
Hopefully Blizzard wont take a blind eye on this game yet. So much potential on this game. It's just that wish they could hear the players plea for that matter.
