Diablo® III

I just entered in six Brawling games...[PvP]

They should have made a seperate bawling quest in the lobby.

I told them that before it launched.

I'll agree that the PvE crowd shouldn't be baiting the PvPers like that. But then, I wouldn't mind a compromise for the resurgence of the D2 hostile button. I'm OK with it, but I would like to require both sides hit the hostile button, before PvP is enabled. I know it was a minority of PvPers that would jump into games to attack PvE players, but that element was out there.

It was also avoidable conflict. And with the flag system and countdown timers in this game it would be just as avoidable.

Consider this: D3 scenario

Player A (in town) goes hostile on player B (somewhere outside of town). Player A may not TP on player B's banner.

Both players outside of town...allow cool down timer for either to escape via TP or WP to town before PvP becomes activated.

PvP has always been, and always will be, a tacked on, nice-to-have-but-in-no-way-essential part of Diablo.

That's actually such a good idea. The brawling type games should have hostility enabled everywhere on the map. Of course they need to do something about the banner in those types of games if they did that. Can you imagine being able to pick the battlefield on the map anywhere in the game. There are a lot of good pvp spots in the pve map but we're limited to the chapel... Enabling 2v2 teams and open world pvp in brawling type games would go a long way for pvp even though some skills in the current system need to be fixed.

I disagree, to me pvp in d2 was the end game. I would have played d2 A LOT less if there was no pvp element to it. pvp was especially fun in organised 4v4 pvp teams (usually barb nec dru sin mirrors)

Some players are so PvE purists in their views (and yes, I can come up with terms too, just like the "PvP advocates who only want to gank and grief"), that they get extremely annoyed when PvP is mentioned. Apparently they really get aggravated at the mere reminder, that PvP is in the game.

I think there is truth to this. Maybe, they got ganked in a different game and didn't like it or one of their favorite skills was nerfed due to being overpowered in PvP. Those are legit reasons to be against it, but they need to understand that if done right PvP would be completely optional and wouldn't cause any nerfs. Then there wouldn't be any reason to be against it.

PvP can be a benefit to a game like Diablo. Not everyone likes to repeatedly kill computer AI after it becomes predictable to them. It will keep some people interested after they get bored slaying monsters. That's a good thing right.
