Dunno if anyone else noticed it but not only is it an obvious reference to Wrath of the Lich King it may also be a reference to Lord of the Rings. The appearance is similar to the mace used by Sauron in the beginning of Fellowship of the Ring.

@Orimos: What? It's the EXACT mace that the skeleton king uses in Diablo 3. Look him up on youtube, he's the mini boss we fight and the last part of the beta. It even says skeleton king in the flavor text. Nothing to do with WOTLK or LOTR

@Sariva: Ok....but in diablo three there literally is the bone king he is the dead king of tristram from diablo 1 and is in diablo 3 as your first real boss fight. Thats is relevance not an outside source.
