May 26, 2012 Downloading from internet while disc is in My installation is taking forever, and I think it's because it's downloading from the internet instead of running the install off the disc. Is there a way to insure that my game is installing off the disc?Halbird0 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 What to expect in 9400 fix? I was wondering what kind of performance upgrades we should expect once the fix happens. Are we still looking at playing with the lowest settings at 800x600 but have an improved fps or will we be able to play at higher resolutions with higher settings? I've read in a few places that the 9400 was working well in the beta up until a certain point where Blizz released a patch and it killed the framerate. What were everyone's settings in the beta and how well did it perform?jeepgun1 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Mac fixes - included in next week's patch? I saw on the main page that there's an impending patch next week, but no list of patch notes. Are the FPS optimizations for Mac included? Or will the changes mainly be seen by PC users?SgtMofo4 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Case Sensitive File System Format? I was wondering if the inability to install on a Case Sensitive File System is a bug that is intended to be fixed down the road, or will Blizzard's position be "We won't be addressing this and Case Sensitive File Systems will not be supported." Honestly, I'm fine with either answer- I'd just like to know if there is an answer available. I have to use this filesystem for some of the things I do for work. I installed Diablo via bootcamp, but would prefer it to be installed in Mac OS X if possible. There are some workarounds I can do that I am aware of, but if this may potentially be addressed, I'd rather just leave it be for now. Thanks.Diothar0 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 PC broke, how can I install on mac w/o more $ I bought d3 for my PC, which has now expired thanks to toddlers and coca-cola. How can I download the game client for mac without buying the game all over again?Book3 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Razer Naga Key Mapping I'm currently not able to map any keys to the side buttons (mouse 4 & 5) on my Razer Naga mouse. The number grid works fine, but I'd really like to map abilities to the side ones, since they're more accessible. Does anyone know how to do this? I haven't found any Razer drivers or add ons that are for D3, nor any useful info in a standard google search.Ruxe6 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Overclocking I have a 9400M. I have been playing on bootcamp, but performance isn't as good as i want it to be. getting something around 18-27 fps usually. Sometimes i got 36fps, but that's rare and dream like. What is overclocking? Can it help me play the game? How do i do it?PostCava0 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Next week's patch and the 9400m / low FPS Any word from Blizzard on whether or not next week's patch is going to include the fix to the 9400m/ low FPS issues many of us Mac users are dealing with? It seems like if it was going to be fixed soon they would tell us rather than keep us in the dark. I don't think I can wait another week not playing this game i payed $100 for. Still really excited they are fixing this issue and have posted updates for us, but I have been waiting to hear on a more exact time-frame as well as a lot of other people. Anyone else out there feel me?Sips2 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 GPU vs CPU Hey guys I was talking to my tech savy friend and he told me that sometimes if a game runs on the lowest settings and lowest resolution, the game will actually play worse. Apparently if the computer does not deem the software being used worth using the GPU, it will stick to the CPU and run the game off of that. Basically the computer needs to have a reason to use more GPU than CPU in order to fully take advantage of the GPU. Long story short, we all might be hurting ourselves by playing the game at lowest settings. I suggest trying to higher the settings a bit and see if that affects anything. This is just a hunch, so don't flame me if this is wrong. But Ill have to admit this worked when fixing a Torchlight FPS issue, so it might work here too.Longsteak0 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 NVidia 9400m TEMPORARY FIX! I am sure a lot of you have already figured this out, or this has been posted several times... but just wanted to do my part and give a difinitive answer.. I am running a macbook pro circa 2009 with the Nvidia 9400m series... Like the rest of you, the game is unplayable.. However I switched to boot camp, installed diablo 3, and it runs FINE... I am already level 35 on nightmare... It is !@#$ty I know, and none of us should "have" to... but until Blizzard releases the patch, this is a solution that works... so either play or wait, your choice.Quest20 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 9400m slow motion temporary fix I've found that playing Zoomed in (press Z) allows me to survive crowded fights that I previously couldn't due to slow motion issues, no matter how hard I tried . It still sucks, but it's better than nothing. I saw that Blizzard has acknowledged the slow motion issue for 9400m on macs and is working on a fix - which is BRILLIANT. In the meantime, hope this helps a few people.Mnv3 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Need Help, Launcher / Agent kills bandwidth Been having a problem the last 2-3 nights where when I open the Launcher it says it needs to update. If I let it update it will not ever get to 100%. While it is trying to update/install it absolutely slaughters my internet. Everything goes down. I have Century Link Prism (kinda like ATT UVerse), so my TV is also dependent on the internet and that goes down too (which makes the wife unhappy). I tried disabling P2P at the suggestion of someone else. No change I tried force quitting Agent. That will sometimes help me get into the game, but Agent usually restarts on its own while in game and kills my connection again I am currently using the public DNS work around due to my Mac client and DSL ISP. I tried disabling it and going back to my default DNS to see if that would help with the launcher issue. It did not, there was no change in behavior. I have all the recommend ports forwarding/triggering for Diablo I am basically at a loss here. I can't play the game. May 26, 2012 Random Diablo III quiting - Late 2011 MBP My wife has a late 2011 MBP, I have a nearly identical unit, but mine is US configuration and her's is EU. May 26, 2012 "Screen Freezes and gets pixelated" Error I am another of the many users with a Mac (mine is i7 15" mid-2010 version) that has the common error that few minutes in the game the whole screen freezes, gets pixelated and only a force restart is a solution making the game unplayable. I visited the apple store today and sat there for 1 hour while they run every test possible on my mac (checked everything from fans to cpu to graphics card) and everything was ok and running perfectly. Also it is worth mentioning that I use my mac to render hours of images and videos without any problem. I have really tried everything (including opening a ticket in support) but no reply yet. Is there a solution on the way or is there a way to get my money back?Hadis0 May 26, 2012

May 26, 2012 LAG HI, I was just wondering If there are going to me any maintenance on dealing with the lag? When I'm in a small cave trying fight off creatures coming from every direction, this game becomes pretty much impossible when it's consistently lagging out. I'm playing on minimal graphics settings on a Macboob pro with 4gb ram and 256mb vram (NVIDIA GeForce 320M. This is the only game that I have lag issues with. It is the servers or my machine? To be honest, having this much lag on a single player game is simply unacceptable . MattheusMATTHEUS0 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Hacked. So I just logged in and my level 38 DH is sitting bare naked in Act I on normal...I know for a fact this is not a virus or phishing problem. I'm on a mac and also run several anti malware programs. I have only played solo and never given out my password. The only way I can think my account was compromised was a security leak on Blizzard's end or someone brute-forcing passwords. I am extremely disappointed. :(SHORTcircuit5 May 26, 2012

May 26, 2012 Has anyone tried bootcamp? to see if the performance is better? I'm not saying we should all just load windows into boot camp, but I'd like to see if anyone has had any luck with improved performance on the exact same system, only using windows rather than osx.mrherg15 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 Slow motion / lag after entering game Was playing fine yesterday pre-server crash, then when it came back up it was terribly laggy. Woke up this morning, started playing for 20 mins - everythings good - then the game just slows down and I can only really see every 3rd frame. Not sure if this is my computer not handling the graphics or the server and I just need to wait it out (lets hope its blizzard.). May 26, 2012 9400m users: Bootcamp (Also: Windows 8 trial) I have heard a lot about success and failure with bootcamp for the game. It seems bootcamp works for some cards, but not for others. This thread is specifically for users of the 9400m. If you have tried the game on your OSX and then bootcamp, please fill in the following form so we can try to notice a trend. NOTE: If you want to try Windows 8, this is the Beta version of Windows 8. I haven't really heard of anyone trying it yet. I have yet to get my Bootcamp partition up, and I may try Windows 7 and 8 to see if there is a difference. It is here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/download I prefer this over the "Option" key method, but it's all good. • Hit the Apple in the top left corner, and select "About this Mac" (I prefer this over the "Option" key method) • Click "More Info . . ." • Lion users: Copy and paste each line (It's neat and concise. Has everything I think we need) • [Snow] Leopard users: Fill the information out by digging a bit more through your system report. Information is just broken into a few more pieces. • Fill the rest of the info and respond. Processor - 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Memory - 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Graphics - NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB Software - Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4 (11E53) Peak FPS and Settings - With everything on low in 800x600, I could keep about 20 FPS until I hit Wortham. At this point the game became unplayable around 13/14 FPS. Other Mac notes - None Bootcamp: Windows Edition Used - Windows 7 Ultimate Method Used to Download Windows - CD copy Peak FPS and Settings - With everything on low at 800x600, it's entirely playable! 25-40 in a lot of areas, and 20+ for big battles. Dips below 20 last only for milliseconds and don't affect the game. Other Windows notes - I went back to Wortham and didn't dip below 20 FPS. Ran Belial with no problems. Even kept 20+ for a 50 monster massacre at the start of Act III. I'd really love to play a high resolution, and I could in less intense areas, but this is completely playable. 800x600 is much easier to read and look at in Win7, too. I recommend it! If you attempt more than one version of windows, please repeat the last four questions. I think the varied success with bootcamp could have to do with the graphics card used, and/or the method of downloading Windows (someone else mentioned it). This thread removes the variable of the graphics card to see how Bootcamp is working out for 9400m users. Other graphics cards: Please feel free to cut and paste anything from here you like to make your own thread, but I think this would be helpful to remain a results page for 9400m strictly. Input on format, and discussion, is as welcome as results.kfm13 May 26, 2012

May 26, 2012 Update on my personal 9400m and playing I'm running on a 13-inch mid 2009 macbook pro. I have the 9400m card, and in mac, I cannot play it on lowest resolution with everything down to lowest. I recently fired up bootcamp and installed the free (until the full complete version comes out) consumer version of windows 8. I have played at nothing below 20 fps through all acts. There is one spot (can't remember where) where it dips down to like 15 or so, but it's not constantly 15, and I can still actually KNOW what I'm doing. This is all done with lowest resolution and everything off. It might not be pretty, but it is playable My friend has a mid 2011 macbook air in which he did the same thing after hearing my success with such, and he had a 10 fps increase, though he had better results to start off with than i did. It's not a perfect fix, but I'm holding hopes that something can be done on the mac end to make it run like that by the time windows releases their full os. (Should probably mention I'm on Lion 10.7.4. Not sure if that matters. Just want to be sure if anyone can be helped by this, they know what I was running on in case it didn't work)Joegernaut1 May 26, 2012
May 26, 2012 2009 Macbook Pro (256Vram) performance issues I have made a few posts about having some FPS problems, and I know those problems are mirrored by other users. Unfortunately, I have a 2009 MBP, and I don't have the money to afford a new computer. The problem is that at times, I get some nasty slowdown and FPS problems, which some people say is my 2.66Ghz Intel 2 Duo Core. That does make some sense, considering the minimum is apparently 2.8. However, it doesn't make much sense that it would be the problem, considering how it has been happening. What I really want, or actually, what I really need at this point, is a way to test my gameplay without an internet connection. If it continues to chug and slowdown, I will know it is my rig (depressing as that would be). if I find I have very few problems, then I will know that it is the online server, and I can rejoice. I have put almost 18 hours into this game, and I am absolutely addicted. The last thing I want is to have to stop because the game is unplayable on my comp. But there is another reason I made this post. For those of you with older rigs, that may have trouble running the game, what did you do to improve performance? Right now I have everything on lowest settings, except reso which I have at 1400/900. I close all my background apps, and obviously I do all the basic stuff, but I just want the best possible experience. Would lowering my reso (despite how ugly it makes the game), make it run considerably better? Thanks guys... for the record, I absolutely love this game... I just wish I could know definitively what the problem is. Also, the reason I am re-posting this here from the General Discussion forum is I am hoping that someone here can shed some light, or may have a similar system to mine. Any advice/help/explanation would be much appreciated.Alvas13374 May 26, 2012

May 25, 2012 Possible fix For frame rate issues on IMacs? I've noticed that after rebooting and changing my resolution in d3 several times that my game actually became playable at my iMacs native resolution of 2560x1440 when before the reboot and resolution cycling it was barely playable at 1080. Note that just rebooting didn't seem to improve frame rates/stuttering, it was only after dropping my res all the way down and then setting at highest native res that I saw a difference. May 25, 2012 Freezing within 30 seconds of gameplay Hey I'm running a 15in MBP 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Dual Processor 9400M graphics card 4 gig RAM The game starts fine and I can be in the character menu and auction house for however long I want. As soon as I enter the game I can play for about 30 seconds before the game locks up. The sound replays a loop and it will not unfreeze if left. I have to force quit the application which takes about 3-5 minutes. I cannot command-tab out of it either for the same time. Any insight into this problem? It worked reasonably well for about a day before this problem started. I have tried all different kinds of settings along with reboots.Billiam0 May 25, 2012
May 25, 2012 [Mac] Fps Lag/ Having to reinstall game First up the fps is horrible but if you put it on a tiny screen in window mode it isn't that bad I have to reinstall game each time i want to play it isn't as long as the initial installation but it is very annoying No sound i have followed all blizzard procedures to fix it NOTHING WORKS I pay $60 for a game that is half broken and barley playable YOU NEED TO FIX THIS. These problems should be your first priority. The game should have pushed back (released later). The Mac version of D3 is terrible and needs to be fixed ASAPSatisfaction4 May 25, 2012
May 25, 2012 After Update 9400M Below Minimum Requirements I just updated the launcher and to the new NVIDIA video drivers on both my Mac and my Windows 7 Bootcamp and now the game tells me at launch that my video card is below system requirements. And yes I rebooted them both after the installs. So, your new solution is to just tell everyone with a 9400 to screw off?Havoc6 May 25, 2012
May 25, 2012 DOWNLOADER DON'T WORK :( Please help, I've been trying to download diablo 3 for about four days now, and have not been able to figure it out. Im on a macbook pro 15 inch 2011.... I go to the diablo 3 homepage, go to the installer and do the little 10 second install so I can start the real thing. I save it to my desktop, and start my 7 gb download. EVERY time, it will download for about 2-3 hours and then, it literally just vanishes. My folder has- Diablo III Setup.exe.part external_resources.rcc.part Installer Tome 1.MPQE.part Installer Tome 2.MPQE.part Installer Tome 3.MPQE.part Launcher.db.part SetupOSX.mpq.part SetupWin.mpq.part I can't reopen the downloader, it says "You can't open the application Diablo III Setup because it may be damaged or incomplete" I have to restart it every time and it always vanishes. Last night I started it again around 5 pm. And it went untill 11 pm today, was about 1/3 done with the download and it was gone when I got home from school. Please help me... :( P.S. The diablo 3 beta had never worked either, those downloads did the same thing during open beta. :(Nanook30 May 25, 2012
May 25, 2012 Depressing Holiday Weekend About to start a depressing 3 day weekend in which I still can't play Diablo 3 thanks to being a Mac owner. I know your working on the patch for next week Blizzard but really, couldn't you have shot for today so we at least could enjoy our holiday? Now I have to go outside and BBQ instead, ugh!agarber1 May 25, 2012
May 25, 2012 Wow, it's weird reading all of these threads I installed D3 on my 3 year old MacBook Pro with a core 2 duo processor and 2GB's of RAM and it is working flawlessly. I have had zero crashes. I wonder what I am doing right?Nhuvasarim11 May 25, 2012

May 25, 2012 Question for Blizzard Developers. I would be very interested in seeing the Auction House be ported to apple iDevices such as iPad, iPhone, iPod Touch. Is there any way that you would be able to eventually release something like that for times when players are away from the computer but would still like to search for and buy items?StimpyB0 May 25, 2012

May 25, 2012 Mac / 9400 I know its been posted, but to add to the numbers, I am another Mac user with a NVIDIA 9400 graphics card who is experiencing extreme lag. It is unbearable: I can only play with other people and have them carry me, otherwise the lag lets everything kill me. This needs to be resolved soon. May 25, 2012 Peculiar problem with Mac OS X My Mac OS X is identical in almost every way to my friends besides the size of the macbook itself. They both have an 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processors, the same amount of memory, and the same graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB). I checked the computer for viruses using methods found on the internet and nothing came up. The difference between my friend's computer and mine, is that his runs Diablo 3, on the lowest settings, at a solid, smooth framerate. Mine is abysmal, even when the graphics settings are the exact same as his. Would anyone know what is happening here? Thanks.Pigma7 May 25, 2012
