Jan 30, 2015 Important Notice: Patch 2.1.2 & Season Rollover As we prepare for patch 2.1.2 and the Season rollover, we wanted to share some important information regarding the timing of these two milestones. Patch 2.1.2 And Season 1: With respect to Seasons, our goal is to avoid implementing major balance changes towards the end of a Season. Ideally, patches and significant hotfixes will occur between Seasons or early enough in the Season that players have ample time to adjust to the new environment. However, we discovered some technical risks in executing a simultaneous launch of patch 2.1.2 and the upcoming Season rollover, and it’s clear that trying to do both in tandem or close proximity would jeopardize both processes. This left us with two options: A) We launch patch 2.1.2 after the Season rollover. In this scenario, Seasonal players wouldn’t have access to any new 2.1.2 items including updated Set items, updated Legendary items, and the new Seasonal items for at least a couple of weeks after the Season went live. B) We could launch patch 2.1.2 before the Season rollover. In this scenario, this would impact Seasonal Leaderboard progression. Not giving Seasonal players access to new items right away in Season 2 would take a lot of the excitement out of the start of that new Season. With this, we believe that by giving players a few weeks to adjust to patch 2.1.2 changes, and by allowing them to test existing changes on the PTR, the impact on the existing Leaderboards can be minimized. After weighing both options carefully, we have decided to launch patch 2.1.2 three weeks prior to the Season rollover. This should provide players enough time to adjust to the patch changes before the Season ends as well as ensure that Season 1 is not prolonged further for those looking forward to Season 2. Future Season Rollovers: Season 1 has been a great learning experience for us and we aim to provide a smoother transition at the end of Season 2. In fact, our intent for future Seasons is to have the current Season end, the corresponding patch deployed, and then the following Season start—in that order. While we will not be able to do that for this inaugural Season rollover, this will be our plan for all rollovers moving forward. For more information about the upcoming Season rollover, click here. To get a sneak-peek at upcoming patch 2.1.2 changes, click here. Thank you for your patience and support. We hope to see you in Sanctuary and Season 2!Tyvalir329 Jan 30, 2015

Jan 13, 2015 Upcoming: End of Era 1 The end of Season 1 is fast approaching, and with it, the end of our very first Era. In Diablo III, an “Era” refers to a specific period of time in which non-Seasonal leaderboards are active. At the end of an Era, all current non-Seasonal leaderboard standings will be wiped and players will be unable to attain new leaderboard ranks until a new Era begins. Similar to Seasons, players will be able to view previous rankings in-game and as well as on our website. Our first Era will be ending alongside our first Season. We currently anticipate the earliest date for the end of Era 1 (and Season 1) to be Tuesday, February 3. Era 2 will begin immediately after the end of Era 1, while Season 2 will begin sometime after the end of Season 1. At the end of Season 1, all heroes created during the Season will become non-Seasonal and will be immediately able to compete on the Era 2 leaderboards. For more information on the end of the Season and upcoming Season rollover, click here. Thank you for participating in our first Era! We look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary.Nevalistis0 Jan 13, 2015
Jan 13, 2015 Patch 2.1.2 Now Live on PS4 and Xbox One Greetings, nephalem! Patch 2.1.2 is now live for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. This patch includes a variety of new features and content updates, including (but not limited to): Ancient Items Ancient items have been added to the game. These items are more powerful versions of existing Legendary items and can be found in Torment I difficulty or higher by slaying monsters, spending Blood Shards with Kadala, and crafting. The drop chance for Ancient items increases with each Torment level. For more information about Ancient items, click here. New and Updated Legendary Items Over 20 new Legendary items have been added to the game! For more information about these items, click here and here. Several Set bonuses have been updated, including The Legacy of Raekor, Embodiment of the Marauder, Monkey King’s Garb, and Firebird’s Finery. These changes will be retroactive, which means players will not need to find new Set items in order to benefit from these adjustments. For more information on updated Set bonuses, click here. Treasure Goblins New Treasure Goblins have been added to the game! Be on the lookout for the Gem Hoarder, Blood Thief, Odious Collector, and Malevolent Tormentor. These additions to our growing goblin family can only be found in Adventure Mode. All Treasure Goblins now appear standing next to a portal and have been given a special mini-map icon in order to increase their visibility. Nephalem and Greater Rift Updates Players can now use the "Revive at Corpse" option while in Nephalem and Greater Rifts, but the associated respawn timer will increment with every death. In addition, and a result of this change, the "Revive at Checkpoint" option has been removed. Several improvements have been made to monster density, monster damage, and Rift Guardian abilities in both Nephalem and Greater Rifts. Many maps have also received changes to the way their layouts can be generated. Pylons found in Rifts and Greater Rifts have received several improvements, and are now less likely to spawn next to each other. For more information about changes to Nephalem and Greater Rifts, click here. "Healing" Changed to "Recovery" The "Healing" stat on the character sheet has been replaced with "Recovery". Recovery is an estimate of how much Toughness you are expected to be able to recover in combat and is calculated using a combination of your Healing, Life, and Toughness. Good hunting, heroes. Glory and fortune are yours for the taking if you are brave enough to claim them from their dark resting places in Sanctuary. To update your game, please make sure you are signed in to either your PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account. PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions are not required to access this newest update.Grimiku0 Jan 13, 2015

Monster distribution in Greater and Nephalem Rifts Nephalem Rifts Monster density has been increased in several Greater and Nephalem Rifts Rift Guardian Tuning The following Rift Guardians have received several changes. As a result, they should be less frustrating, but still dangerous. Bloodmaw Bloodmaw presented an unchallenging and unfair fight due to a combination of one-shot damaging abilities, stuns, and AoE damage. His Leap attack has been modified to address these concerns, but will trigger more often to make the fight feel more dynamic. Erethon Erethon has received minor changes to his dash attack. The AoE element has been replaced with a ranged attack to give more challenge to ranged characters. Rime Rime was an unfair opponent for melee players. The fight has been restructured so that this AoE can no longer overlap and the duration of each has been reduced. In addition, his ranged attack should be more threatening to ranged characters. Nov 20, 2014 Missing items on Xbox One? Please read! [Update October 10, 2014] We believe we have identified the cause of this bug and are working on a forthcoming patch to implement a fix. Although we do not have an ETA to provide at this time as to when this patch will be available, the followings steps should correct the issue in the meantime: Delete either instance of the duplicated hero in the Hero list Back out to Press Start Proceed back to Main Menu Please note that these steps will prevent further instances of this bug occurring, but will not restore any items that were lost as a result. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you all for time, patience, and reports. -------------------------- Greetings everyone, Since the release of patch 2.1.0 on Xbox One, we’ve received several reports from players noting that their Hero saves have been lost. From these reports, it appears that the issue is only affecting certain heroes’ inventories. Some players have also reported seeing a duplicate of their hero with newer items on the Hero selection screen, but cannot enter a game with that specific character. If you have experienced, or continue to experience, this issue please let us know the following: For those of you who can 100% reproduce the issue with a given character, if you quit out to the Main Menu (by pressing the Menu button and selecting Quit), and then go back into game, have you lost anything? What console are you playing on? What are your Language/Location settings set to? What language are you playing the game in? Is your console connected to the internet? Have you recently moved your account or save data between consoles? Are you playing in multiplayer games, single player or some of both? If multiplayer, are you playing same-screen or multi-system multiplayer? What type of in game activities were you doing previous to quitting/leaving the game? (Adventure mode, greater rift, Nephalem rift, etc) What class/level are you? What gear are you using? (A screenshot would be great!) When you leave the game, are you turning off the console? If you are turning off the Xbox One, do you have the “Instant On” and/or “Resume Games Quickly” settings enabled? Where are you in game when you turn off the console? (Main Menu, “press any button” screen, In Game, etc.) If you are not turning off the console, are you quitting the application fully? Where are you in the game when you are quitting the application? (Main Menu, “press any button” screen, In Game, etc.) Additionally, it would help us to have your Gamertag/PSN ID. Please note this is optional, and we will be able to continue the investigation without this information. If you do not want to share that info here, please contribute what information you can. Thank you!Araxom37 Nov 20, 2014

Oct 21, 2014 Enchanting Hotfix [Updated, October 31] [UPDATE – Friday, October 31] Thank you for your patience! To address the outstanding issue of de-ranked Legendary Gems, we are distributing replacement gems to the affected group of players via in-game mail. The replacement gems will be ranked higher than those that were previously lost. To those who experienced this issue and are sent replacement gem(s), please make sure you have enough space in your hero’s inventory before opening the mail. With this, an Internet connection is required to claim the mail and you will need to be signed into your SEN or XBL account, as appropriate. Be aware that for PlayStation 4, your own user name will appear in the sender field. For Xbox One, no name will be associated with the mail and the sender field will be blank. We will still be proceeding with the original change to the Mystic’s enchanting cost, reducing the required quality from Flawless Imperial to Imperial. However, this change will be made in a forthcoming patch. We want to say thank you again to everyone who was affected, for your patience and understanding. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue caused and hope that this resolution helps you get back into the fight as soon as possible! ----------------------- [UPDATE] – We are currently investigating issues affecting Ultimate Evil Edition games in which this hotfix was applied. One of these of these issues includes, but is not limited to, a reported loss of Legendary Gem progress. Until further notice, this particular hotfix has been reverted across all the console platforms. To help ensure the hotfix has been removed and will not impact your gameplay, power cycle your console platform (turn it off and then back on) before starting a game. Additionally, please note that joining an online game which was created with the hotfix active may cause players within the party to be affected by the reported issues. As a result, we advise using caution when playing online for the next 24 – 48 hours. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and will be sure to provide updates as they become available. Thank you for your patience! Greetings everyone, A hotfix has been issued for Ultimate Evil Edition which affects the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. This hotfix makes an adjustment to the materials needed to enchant Amulets and Rings at the Mystic, reducing the quality of required gems from Flawless Imperial to Imperial. Please note that since this is a console hotfix, as opposed to a full client patch, there are some key differences of which players should be aware. Parental Controls: PS3 and PS4 users who are Parentally Restricted will not receive the hotfix. In order to modify Parental Control settings for these consoles, please refer to Sony’s Support Sites for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. New Gaming Sessions: On the PS3, Xbox 360, and Xbox One, users may be required to play online* in order for the hotfix to be saved between gaming sessions. Ultimate Evil Edition games created on one of these consoles while offline may not have the hotfix enabled. On the PS4, users will only need to download and install the hotfix once while signed into their PlayStation Network account. After the hotfix has been downloaded and installed, no additional steps will be required. The hotfix will remain active, even if subsequent games are created offline. Users on all four platforms must be signed into their respective PlayStation Network or Xbox Live accounts to be eligible for hotfix (PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions are not required, however). The hotfix will automatically download in the background when you progress to Ultimate Evil Edition’s Main Menu. *This is not a change to Ultimate Evil Edition’s optional offline play mode. Ultimate Evil Edition games created on PS3, Xbox 360, or Xbox One which were previously hotfixed, but are no longer connected online can still be played as normal; however, the hotfix may not be active.Araxom0 Oct 21, 2014

Oct 6, 2014 Patch 2.1.0 Now Live on PS4 and Xbox One Greetings heroes! Patch 2.1.0 is now live for Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. New features in Patch 2.1.0 include: "What's New" Screen A "What's New" screen will now appear whenever a player logs into the game after a new patch has been installed (and pressing "Start" at the Main Menu). As the name suggests, this screen will provide a quick overview of new features included in the patch. The Cesspools When adventuring in Nephalem Rifts and Greater Rifts, players will have a chance to encounter a new randomized environment: The Cesspools. Originally designed as the sewers of Westmarch, this festering, dank underworld is now ready to explore and plunder! The Vault Whenever Treasure Goblins are defeated, there's now a chance they will spawn a new type of portal through which players can enter. Inside this mysterious new realm known as "The Vault," mighty treasures await…along with Sanctuary's newest boss: the Baroness Greed. Please note that portals to The Vault can only be accessed in Adventure Mode, and that they will not appear inside Nephalem Rifts or Greater Rifts. For more information about The Vault, click here. Greater Rifts Greater Rifts are a special type of timed Nephalem Rift. There are an infinite number of Greater Rift levels, and each level will be progressively more difficult than the last. Upon completing a Greater Rift, players will be able to choose between one of two rewards: a chance to upgrade their Legendary Gems or (if they complete the Greater Rift level within its allotted time) the opportunity to move on to the next Greater Rift level. Players can continue progressing through Greater Rift levels so along as they complete the current Rift level before its timer expires. Please note that Greater Rifts can only be accessed in Adventure Mode. For more information about Greater Rifts, click here. Legendary Gems Legendary Gems are a new type of gem that can drop in Greater Rifts and The Vault and will offer powerful abilities when socketed into Rings and Amulets. Players will have the opportunity to upgrade their Legendary Gems over time by completing Greater Rifts. For more information about Legendary Gems, click here. Ramaladni's Gift Ramalandni’s Gift is a new Legendary item that will allow players to add a socket to any weapon that does not already have one. This item can drop randomly in the game world and will be consumed on use. For more information on Ramaladni’s Gift, click here. Good luck, nephalem. We wish you fortune and glory in your continued adventures across Sanctuary! To update your game, please make sure you are signed in to either your PlayStation Network or Xbox Live account. PlayStation Plus and Xbox Live Gold subscriptions are not required to access this newest update. Edit: We are aware that some players are reporting that they have not seen a notification for the 2.1.0 update on console. Please be aware that although the patch is technically live, it may take some time for users in some areas to receive the patch update notification. We do expect that all players on PS4 and Xbox One will have received the notice to update by around 6PM PDT. To those who have not received the update notice yet, we thank you for your patience! Sep 30, 2014 Stormshield Displaying Incorrect Affixes in 2.1.0 Hello everyone, As a quick FYI, we wanted to make you all aware of a bug going live in patch 2.1.0 that will cause the Legendary shield, Stormshield, to display incorrect affix rolls. For those of you who have a Stormshield and update the game to patch 2.1.0, the shield will appear as though its stats have been rerolled, even though the stats themselves have not actually changed. (Exception: Any affixes which are enchanted will not be affected and will display as normal.) While this is a display issue only, we have temporarily disabled Stormshield from dropping until the bug can be fixed. With this, when the bug is fixed, your Stormshield will again show the correct stats as they were before patch 2.1.0 launched. We will be correcting this bug in a future client patch (unfortunately it cannot be hotfixed), but do not have an ETA to share at this time. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused and thank you for your patience!Tyvalir1 Sep 30, 2014
Sep 18, 2014 Commonly Asked Questions - Check Here First! Greetings Adventurers, Since the release of the Ultimate Evil Edition, we've seen some recurring questions pop up across the forums. We encourage you to read through the following in case these apply to you: Why can't I connect online to Ultimate Evil Edition games through the PS4? We are currently investigating this issue and are collecting information from affected players in this thread. Why can't I connect to the Diablo III server on Xbox Live? [UPDATE] 9/3 – The corrective patch for Ultimate Evil Edition on the Xbox One (26590) is now live. This patch should resolve any difficulties Xbox One users were experiencing when multiple consoles were attempting to connect to online UEE games through the same router. If anyone continues to experience further Xbox One connection issues, please refer to the following Xbox One network support page or contact Microsoft directly for specific console assistance. ------------- [UPDATE] 8/21 - We believe we've identified the cause of the issue affecting Xbox One users (as noted below), and the resolution will require a forthcoming patch that we are currently working on. We don’t expect it to be too long before this corrective patch goes live, however we do not have an exact ETA to share as of this update. We will be sure to provide more information here as soon as we can. Thank you for your continued patience, we appreciate it! ------------- We are currently aware of an issue that is causing players to receive the following message when attempting to play Ultimate Evil Edition on the Xbox 360 and Xbox One: "The Diablo III server is not available at this time. Please try again later." To be clear, many Xbox players are able to connect online to Ultimate Evil Edition at this time. A common factor linking affected players is having two Xbox One system connecting through the same router. This scenario doesn't comprise all the reports we've received, however, only the majority of them. Although we do not have a resolution to offer at this time, we are continuing to investigate and will be sure to update this thread as soon as more information becomes available. Thanks to everyone who is affected for your continued patience! What happened to my Infernal Pauldrons? We've received a few reports from PS4 players noting that they have been unable to claim their Infernal Pauldrons. This issue appears to be related to a license not properly being applied to some players' SEN accounts after entering the item code. Luckily, we have identified a workaround that should help most of you get past this issue: 1. Navigate to the Settings option on the PS4 Dynamic Menu 2. Select "PSN" 3. Select "Restore Licenses" 4. Re-launch Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition and you should find your preorder item in your inventory Additionally, please ensure that your console is connected to the internet, as downloading the available patch over PSN is required to collect the item. I linked my XBL and SEN accounts, so where is my Signet Ring of the Blizzard? After you've successfully linked your Sony Entertainment Network and Xbox Live accounts via Battle.net, launch Ultimate Evil Edition and create a new game. Once you're in game, visit your newest town hub and open your Shared Stash. Under the "Ring" category, you should see your Signet Ring of the Blizzard. If you do not see the ring, try relogging into the game after waiting a few minutes. For more information on account linking, click here.Araxom241 Sep 18, 2014

Sep 10, 2014 Upcoming Hotfixes: Disabled Event Bounties Update: Friday, September 5 This hotfix is now live. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Greetings, nephalem! One of our ongoing goals for Diablo III (and Seasons in particular) is to promote diversity in play styles and encourage a variety of experience whenever possible. In line with this goal, and as a direct result of your feedback from Season 1, we're in the process of implementing a series of hotfixes that will temporarily disable the following events as eligible bounties: The Matriarch's Bones The Jar of Souls The Miser's Will A Miner's Gold This change will apply to both Seasonal and non-Seasonal games. Additionally, please note that these hotfixes will only remove the above events from the active bounty pool, not the game itself. The events can still spawn in-game and will provide rewards as normal. We don't have an ETA at this time for when these events will be re-added to the bounty pool, but are working to have them available for Season 2. Looking Forward: In Season 1, many players were able to quickly level their heroes and earn a coveted rank on the "Race to the Top" leaderboard exclusively by running the bounties in question. While we won't be removing any Conquest credit or ranking from players who chose to use this particular technique, we will be making changes to these bounties for future Seasons. The desire here is to help promote an environment where the most efficient way to play is also the most varied (and ideally the most fun too). With this, one of our goals for Seasonal Conquests is to encourage players to try out different tactics and explore different play styles, so we will be evaluating all Season 1 Conquests with that goal in mind and making changes for Season 2 as needed. Once again, thank you for your feedback. We'll continue to grow and improve Diablo III with your support, so please keep posting! In the meantime, we wish you glory and good fortune in Season 1, and good luck to those still racing for a spot on our current Conquest leaderboards. See you in Sanctuary!Lylirra230 Sep 10, 2014
Sep 3, 2014 Achievement Display Bug Just a heads-up: We’ve received some reports from players who are currently unable to view their achievements in-game after updating to patch 2.1.0. If you experience this issue, please exit Diablo III completely and re-launch the game from the Battle.net desktop app. The issue should disappear. If this issue persists after re-launching the game client, or if you experience any other game-related issues while playing Diablo III, please report them in the Bug Report forum so that we can investigate further. If you’re experiencing technical issues with the patching process, connecting to Battle.net after installing the patch, or errors while playing a newly-patched game, please visit our support site or post in the Technical Support forum for assistance. Thanks, and welcome to patch 2.1.0!Tyvalir4 Sep 3, 2014

Aug 25, 2014 Patch 2.1.0 Philosophy Hey all! With the release of patch 2.1.0 drawing near, we wanted to take some time to share the balance goals of this patch. There were two major goals: Reduce the number of extreme outliers in class balance in order to set us up for ongoing improvements Provide ourselves a new metric (Greater Rifts) by which we can more easily identify future outliers The changes we've made so far to our six classes exemplify these goals. For example, the retuning of Exploding Palm, The Furnace, and Rimeheart weren't specifically made to nerf Monks—it was to remove a clear, standalone issue from interfering with other changes aimed at giving Monks the tools they need to survive and compete in Greater Rifts. The implementation of Greater Rifts allows us to rate classes much more quantitatively. Ideally, each class should be within a couple Greater Rift tiers of one another. Our latest internal testing, where we often copy actual characters from players in the PTR and run them through Greater Rifts, shows that we're pretty close. Inevitably, there will always be room for improvement, and now we have clear, tangible data for us to check in on what's going on and re-evaluate. Here's what we're not aiming to do (at least, not yet): Expand class diversity This is a design goal for us, and we've touched a little on it (see below). However, we want each class performing similarly and with fewer outliers before we introduce new play styles. Buff every class through the roof While power creep is somewhat inevitable with new content (Legendary Gems, I'm looking at you!), you need to sand down the rough edges before you primer them! We want to reign some things in, buff some things up, and ensure each class has comparable (if different) tools available to them. The overarching philosophies for this patch are as follows and apply to most, if not all, the classes: Provide elemental diversity among a class' available skills This is an ongoing process, and while we've partially addressed elemental diversity for most classes, there's still more to go (such as addressing Poison and Cold for Demon Hunters and Crusaders respectively). Buff significantly underused skills by increasing numbers or redesigning runes with more interesting or useful mechanics. Channeling spells for Wizards or Furious Charge for Barbarians are great examples of these changes. There's still some skills out there that need work, we just may not get to them for 2.1. Buff Healing This can apply to every class. We want players to use healing on their gear, especially in higher level Greater Rifts, and it should feel much more reliable and on-demand (depending on which type of healing you prefer to stack). Ensure that the elemental types and skill mechanics fulfill the fantasy of the class We talk about class fantasy a lot, and making sure your class feels the way it should. The addition of the Crusader set, Roland’s Legacy, is a prime example of this. Crusaders should feel like they have options in melee, and we feel this set helps satisfy that need. Phases of the PTR can be a little trying, because what you end up seeing from the outside looking in is what our iterative process looks like — except with none of the context. It's like trying to tell what the entire picture is from a few unmatched puzzle pieces, because some bits of our larger, overarching goals just can’t (for one reason or another) be crammed into a build before it goes out. What can be frustrating is that our iterative process on a subject can be much longer term than the cycle of a single patch. Class balance is a perfect example of this, particularly because it’s an aspect of the game that’s never really "done." It's fairly inevitable that there will always be work to do on this front, especially as we add new content in the future (and even more so where Legendaries and Sets are concerned). Class balance is the sum of several wholes, including Skills, Set Items, and Legendaries that have been added or adjusted. That's a ton of stuff to look at, and sometimes there's simply not enough time to fit everything into a single patch (even if it's in our plans). This is an ongoing process for us. There's a lot of new toys and quality of life changes in this patch, but that doesn't mean it launching closes the doors on additional tweaks or changes for the future. If a class falls behind, we might put out a 2.1.1 or 2.1.2 to address the clear outliers. Some of our plans have immediate implementation goals while others stretch on for 6 months or even a year. There's a lot of spinning wheels and fiddly bits in this Infernal Machine, and a quick glance won't ever be sufficient to explain it all. Some plans are harder to explain than others, but we hope this lends at least a bit of transparency to the bigger picture.Nevalistis332 Aug 25, 2014
Aug 25, 2014 Patch 2.1.0 Size and Estimated Download Time Hey everyone! Patch 2.1.0 is on its way, and we wanted to give you all a quick heads up about the size of this patch and the anticipated time required to fully apply it. While the patch itself is not very large (300 MB), it will be making several changes to the game files stored on your computer. As a result, the patch installation phase may take up to 30 minutes to finish once the patch has been downloaded. Please note that, during this process, your Battle.net Desktop Application will note that it's "installing 12.4GB." This message is simply referencing the unpacking of the new patch file and the re-configuration of existing Diablo III files on your computer. The actual amount of new data on your computer will be significantly smaller. We apologize for any inconvenience, and look forward to seeing you in Sanctuary soon!Tyvalir0 Aug 25, 2014
Aug 25, 2014 [Heads Up] PTR Shutting Down In preparation for the launch of Patch 2.1.0, the PTR servers will be brought offline this afternoon at 3:00 p.m. PT. At that time, players will no longer be able to log in to the PTR client, all PTR accounts (including character information) will be reset, and our PTR forums will be marked as read-only. We'd like to thank everyone who participated in the Patch 2.1.0 PTR. You've done an awesome job of testing the new content, and we greatly appreciate the feedback you provided during this phase of the game’s development. We look forward to releasing Patch 2.1.0 to the public shortly. We hope you all enjoy Greater Rifts, Seasons, and all the other content included in this update. We’ll see you in Sanctuary soon!Tyvalir0 Aug 25, 2014
Aug 25, 2014 Welcome Tyvalir! Hey everyone, Please join me in welcoming Tyvalir to the North American Diablo III Community Team! As with many of you here, Tyvalir possesses a strong passion for Diablo III and is incredibly excited to be joining us on our many adventures throughout Sanctuary. Random Facts About Tyvalir: He hails from south Texas, so is naturally attuned to heat of the Burning Hells He previously worked as a contributing author over at Diablo III IncGamers (where you may have known him as "Waterfiend") He loves the Witch Doctor, but will be rolling a Demon Hunter (SC) and Crusader (HC) when Seasons hit He first played Diablo on a netbook and he's been hooked on the series ever since He is the newest community manager at Blizzard, and is therefore burdened with the task of carrying around an adorable pirate octopus plush toy, referred to as the "FNG Pirate" (lol) So, without further ado: Welcome, Tyvalir!Lylirra156 Aug 25, 2014
Aug 20, 2014 Ultimate Evil Edition –Language Issue (PS EU) Greetings adventurers, We’ve received several reports from PlayStation users in Europe who digitally purchased Ultimate Evil Edition and had the client downloaded in a language different from that of their console’s default language. If you’re experiencing this, we encourage you to proceed with the following steps to correct the issue. Step 1: Remove the existing version of Diablo III: Reaper of Souls - Ultimate Evil Edition from your console system. The executable for the game is separate from the saved data, and if you’ve played Ultimate Evil Edition at all, you will only want to remove the game data, not the save file. To do this: On PlayStation 3 Navigate to the GAME column in the PlayStation 3 menu > Game Data Utility > select Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition > select OPTIONS > DELETE On PlayStation 4 Navigate to SETTINGS in PlayStation 4 menu > System Storage Management > Applications > select Diablo III: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Evil Edition > select OPTIONS > DELETE Step 2: Once the Ultimate Evil Edition game data has been deleted from your system, navigate back into the PlayStation Store and look for it there (you will not have to repurchase the game, the record of your previous purchase is not lost). Select the game, and you will see that there are two different downloads available. The larger of the two is the English/French/Italian/German/Spanish (EFIGS) version, the smaller of the two is the Polish/Russian (POL/RUS) pack. PS3 EFIGS 21.8 GB POL/RUS 11.5 GB PS4 EFIGS 37.8 GB POL/RUS 20.5 GB Step 3: Choose the appropriate download and the game will then reinstall. If you haven't deleted the saved game data (which is approximately 13 MB), then the new language version will pick right up where you left off. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we’ll have the different packs labelled appropriately in the near future. Good luck, nephalem. We wish you fortune and glory in your continuing adventures across Sanctuary!Araxom0 Aug 20, 2014
Aug 12, 2014 Issues with Updating PS3 Greetings adventurers, [UPDATE] (8/11) - Patch 1.0.4 is now available in all regions. ---------------------- [UPDATE] 1:20 PM PDT (8/7) – Patch 1.0.4 is now available for PlayStation in the Americas region, which addresses the console freezes that have been affecting some players. SCEE (Europe) and SCEJ (Japan) will also be patched; however, the patches for those regions will be rolled out at a later time. Please note that Xbox will not be receiving this patch, as the issue only affects PlayStation users. Thank you! ---------------------- [UPDATE] 11 a.m. PDT (8/6) - Thanks everyone for your continued patience and for helping submit the requested information! With your assistance we were able to track down the issue more quickly, and believe that we have now established the cause of the issue. As such, we are currently working to resolve this with a minor patch - although we don’t yet have the exact ETA for when this patch will be pushed, we don’t expect it will be too much longer from now. We’ll return to the post with further updates as soon as they become available. ---------------------- [UPDATE] 3:45 p.m. PDT - If you are continuing to experience issues with Diablo III freezing up after having installed the latest patch, please respond below with the following information: Make/Model of router Is UPnP enabled on the router: To determine this, please refer to the instruction manual included with the router for specific instructions. Is port 3074 forwarded? - To check this, please visit the following page and select your router and then Diablo III for your appropriate console. Please also let us know whether there are any other game consoles on the same network. Thank you for contributing this information! We will continue to update the thread with more info as it becomes available. ---------------------- Today a new patch was released for both PlayStation 3 (25601) and Xbox 360 (25238), which lays the groundwork for us to allow character exports between current-gen and next-gen console platforms. Although some players have been able to update just fine, there are reports from others that the game is locking up on the PS3. We are currently investigating the issue, and will be sure to update you as soon as more information becomes available. In the meantime, you may want to try the following troubleshooting step which was offered here. ... Thanks to Regor for the assist, and to everyone else who is currently affected for hanging in there.Araxom60 Aug 12, 2014
Jul 19, 2014 Seasons Now Available on PTR Our first Seasons test begins today! To create a Seasonal hero, simply check the "Seasonal Hero" box located below the class selection list. For more information about Seasons, click here. Multiple Season Testing: Please note that over the course of the patch 2.1.0 PTR, we may periodically "end" a Season to test the rollover process and ensure that Seasonal character data migrates correctly. To get the most out of this PTR, we will likely start and end a Season several times before our public test phase concludes. Season Feedback: If you have any feedback to share regarding Seasons (including, but not limited to Conquests, Leaderboards, Seasonal Legendary items, character creation, and data roll over), be sure to post in this forum. Any and all feedback is welcome. :) Thanks for your support and participation, and good luck with those Conquests!Lylirra1 Jul 19, 2014
Jul 18, 2014 Message from Rob Pardo Every ending is a beginning and today marks a new beginning for me. After 17 years at Blizzard, with long and careful contemplation, I have made a difficult and bittersweet but ultimately exciting decision to pursue the next chapter in my life and career. Before I even joined Blizzard, I was already a huge fan of the company and its games. In particular, I was extremely passionate about the emerging genre of real-time strategy games. It was a dream come true when I was given the opportunity to work on StarCraft, which at the time was being created by a very small team by today’s standards. It was tremendously fulfilling to get to know everyone on the team personally and to contribute our energies toward a shared goal in such a creative and engaging environment. Blizzard Entertainment has been simply the best place in the world to be a game designer. The best aspect of designing games at Blizzard is that the entire company is passionate about the gameplay within each and every product. From the executive team to customer service to our global offices, every single person is a player and contributes to making the best possible games. It's for very good reason that the first credit on every Blizzard game is "Game Design by Blizzard Entertainment." I’m really proud of the contributions I was able to make to Blizzard’s accomplishments. From building lasting games, to supporting the growth of eSports, to extending the Warcraft world into a feature film, and of course to being able to celebrate our shared passions with the Blizzard community online and at BlizzCon. The Blizzard community is ultimately the reason why we come to work every day and pour our souls into every world and experience we create. Blizzard’s players are the most passionate in the world and your commitment and dedication are truly awesome to behold. Creating entertainment for you has been an incredible opportunity, and I know that you will continue to grow and become even stronger as a community over the years to come. It has been so meaningful on a personal level to help create joy for all of you. I'm looking forward to new challenges in my career, but I will always cherish the time I spent with you all and the amazing and collaborative teams at Blizzard. It was both satisfying and humbling, and it made me a better developer and a better person. I look forward to playing Blizzard games as a player for many years to come. Most important, now I have plenty of time to learn how to build a competitive Hearthstone deck. As to what I will be doing next, I don’t have an answer for you yet . . . but I will "when it's ready." My priorities are to enjoy the summer with my family, play plenty of games, and think about what’s next. The game industry is such an exciting place right now with PC gaming thriving, the new consoles, mobile games, and virtual reality becoming an actual reality. It’s like having an empty quest log and going into a new zone for the first time. In the past, I haven't been the most avid Twitter user, but I'll strive to do better and keep you updated there—@Rob_Pardo. Please stay in touch! RobRob Pardo201 Jul 18, 2014

Jun 10, 2014 Anniversary Buff Update Hello folks, I come bearing exciting news. Due to the overwhelming popularity of our Anniversary buff we have decided to keep the increased Legendary drop rate once the two-year anniversary celebration ends. Once the buff is disabled tomorrow morning, you will find that the new base line drop rates for Legendary items will be the same as those you have all enjoyed for the last week. Happy hunting and link the loot! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Additional details: This buff was implemented in all regions on 5/21. For more info, click here. The double Rift Keystone Fragment buff will end at 5:00 a.m. PT on 5/22. We may bring this fun, but temporary buff back again at some point in the future! The increased Legendary drop rate does not affect Act-specific Legendary items from Horadric Caches.Travis Day2409 Jun 10, 2014

Apr 20, 2014 Upcoming Hotfix - Shard of Hate (4/15) As with other recent hotfixes, we’ve got one coming up shortly that we wanted to give the community a heads up about, this time regarding the legendary Shard of Hate. We’ve been closely observing our internal reports as well as player feedback on the Shard of Hate and the general consensus is that this item feels wildly out of line compared to other items. After digging in behind the scenes, we discovered a couple of bugs with this item that we believe is the ultimate culprit. First, the internal cooldown of this item’s power was being reset each time a dual-wielding character attacked with a weapon in their other hand. This meant the effect was occurring twice as often for dual-wielding characters, and with particular skills such as Whirlwind or Tempest Rush that also carry attack speed multipliers, this effect was even more frequent. Secondly, the proc rate of the item was ignoring the proc scalar of the skill it was used with, which in simple terms caused Shard of Hate’s affix to apply every time a skill was used. Combined with the above issue, this resulted in this Legendary vastly over performing, and even more so with particular builds. The hotfixes we’re applying correct both of these unintended behaviors and have been added to our 2.0.4 Hotfixes thread. As with all major changes, we hope to provide insight as to why we felt these changes were necessary as well as give context to the decisions we ultimately make.Nevalistis1429 Apr 20, 2014
Apr 9, 2014 [UPDATED] Disconnection Issues in Nephalem Rifts Hi all, we're continuing to monitor reports of disconnections when in Nephalem Rifts. If you're continuing to experience disconnects while playing, you may want to attempt deleting the following folders inside the Diablo III game folder: > Diablo III\Data_D3\PC\MPQs\Cache\ > Diablo III\Data_D3\PC\MPQs\enUS\ (this may have a different name based on your language and region) Users report being able to play multiple Rifts without disconnecting whereas they could not before deleting the folders. -From Omrakos' post.Araxom1 Apr 9, 2014
Mar 30, 2014 Upcoming Hotfixes to Legendary Items Update 3/28 @ 5:20 p.m. PT: These hotfixes have been implemented and should now be live in all regions. Please note that you may need to restart your game in order for them to go into effect. ------------------------------------------------------------ Hey everyone, As a quick heads up, we have two buffs to Legendary item drop rates coming down the pipeline. First change: We're increasing the drop rate for Legendary items (this includes Set items) in Torment 1-6. Second change: We're significantly increasing the chance for an item purchased from Kadala to be a Legendary. Both of these hotfixes are somewhat proactive, but are aimed to help improve the reward curve for players as they start to reach higher Torment difficulties. We look forward to hearing your feedback as a result of these changes! Please note that these hotfixes have not yet been implemented. Once the hotfixes are live, they will be added and updated here. Mar 29, 2014 Recent Hotfix to Monk Passive Unity Hey everyone, We’ve recently implemented a major hotfix for the Monk passive, Unity. With this hotfix, we’ve capped the number bonus damage stacks provided by the passive to 4. This means the maximum amount of bonus damage that can be achieved with Unity by the casting player is 20%, which is still fairly powerful compared to most class passive abilities. Unity’s design intent is to make players feel powerful when fighting side by side with their allies. The fantasy behind the passive is based on the idea that travelling with your Mystic Ally, follower, and other players can make you stronger and more adept at fighting your foes—which is great! At the moment, however, depending on your group make-up, the returns from Unity are vastly over-performing compared to other passives as well as other classes. We know nerfs never feel particularly great, but with a singular passive standing so far above other abilities, we hope you understand why this was the appropriate action to take. We’re aiming to provide as much transparency and clarity on these kinds of changes as possible, and we’re thankful for your patience and understanding!Nevalistis45 Mar 29, 2014
Mar 25, 2014 Loading Issues with Items, Stash Tabs, and Gold Update 3/25 @ 11:40 a.m. PT: Hey all! We've restored missing gold and items for players we were able to verify over the weekend. If you still have missing gold or items on one of characters that you believe as related to this issue, please contact Customer Support so we can continue to investigate on a case-by-case basis. Thank you so much for your patience and your reports! ------------------------------------------------------------ Update 3/20 @ 8:13 p.m. PT: Thanks to your reports and D3debug.tx files, we've been able to identify a very isolated number of players who did experience gold loss as a result of the missing gold/equipment/stash tab bug. We've developed a fix for this issue and are working to test and implement it by the end of the weekend. This fix should restore the full amount of gold lost as a result of the bug without any work required by the affected players. (Note that you need not have reported the issue in this thread to be eligible for the fix.) We sincerely apologize for any trouble this bug caused. The missing gold/equipment/stash tab should now be resolved and we hope to address any lingering issues associated with it before the launch of Reaper of Souls. :) Thank you again for your reports, and your patience! ------------------------------------------------------------ Update 3/18 @ 7:34 p.m. PT: If you continue to experience issues with missing gear that is not resolved by simple logging out and back in, we recommend attempting this player workaround: ... In addition, we are also investigating the possibility of providing a special one-time exception for Hardcore heroes specifically affected by this issue to allow for a rollback of the account, and subsequent restoration of the fallen heroes. More information is available here: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/12162756204 ------------------------------------------------------------ Update 3/18 @ 10:40 a.m. PT: Thanks to everyone who provided D3debug.txt files. These are no longer needed at this time. We're continuing to investigate your reports of missing gold, items, and stash tabs and will provide updates in this thread as they become available. ------------------------------------------------------------ Hey everyone! Earlier this evening, some players experienced an issue where, upon logging into the game, their heroes failed to load equipped and they were unable to access or view the hero's inventory, stash tabs, or gold. This issue that caused this to happen initially has been resolved and, overall, only a small number of players were affected. In addition, there shouldn't be any permanent loss of hero data (including items, stash tabs, and gold) from our database. Players affected by this issue, however, may need to log out of the game and then back into the game in order for everything to reappear. Note that several relogs may be required for all items, stash tabs, and gold to display correctly. While this issue is considered resolved on our end, we are continuing to monitor incoming reports--particularly those on this forum! If you are still experiencing problems related to this issue, please let us know in this thread. We'd also greatly appreciate if you could provide your D3debug.txt file and bracket it in ["code"][/"code"] tags (without the quotations). This file is located in the main Diablo III game folder. Thank you in advance for your posts! We are sincerely sorry that this issue occurred and for any inconvenience it's caused. We will continue to investigate your reports as they are received. --------------------------------------------------------------- [EDITED TO ADD] If you share a D3debug.txt file, please also note what kind of issue you're still experiencing. This contextual information is very important. If needed, feel free to edit your existing post that includes the d3debug.txt file. Thank you!Lylirra285 Mar 25, 2014

Mar 24, 2014 Wings of Valor Delivery Update - // Updated // Update 3/21 @ 4:40 p.m. PT - We've received multiple reports from players who didn't think they had the wings but hadn't checked the mail/message icon that is visible in game in the lower left-hand corner. The Message will be titled, "RoS Preorder: Wings of Valor". Please keep in mind that you should be able to acquire the Wings as soon as the upgrade has been processed - with that said digital transactions can take upwards of 72 hours to complete. It doesn't usually always take that long for a transaction to process, but it can. If you upgraded over 72 hours ago, and are still not seeing the notification for the Wings in the mail/message icon - please try one or all of the following: Create a new character Close the game down, and restart the Battle.net Desktop App Reset the Password If these steps do not do the trick for you, please reach out to us via our Support Portal. Thank you! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Update 3/21 @ 11:00 a.m. PT - For players who prepurchased early, your Wings of Valor are now in transit and should be delivered to everyone soon. Some of you may have already received your wings, for others it may take a bit more time. Once your Wings of Valor have been delivered, claiming them is easy. Simply log into the game on any one of your heroes and look for a small mail icon in the lower left of the screen (if you're already in the game, you may need to log out and then back in). Click the mail icon to open the delivery window, select the Wings of Valor, and then click "Claim." The wings will appear in your hero's inventory and can be equipped immediately by right-clicking on the item's icon. If you've purchased the game and have not received your Wings of Valor in the next hour or so, please respond here so that we can continue to troubleshoot. Thank you so much for your patience! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hey everyone! Quick update on the Wings of Valor delivery. Early this afternoon, we ran a special script to award eligible players who have digitally prepurchased Reaper of Souls their Wings of Valor. This script completed this afternoon around approximately 5:00 pm PT. Shortly after this script was run, we uncovered an issue that affected the delivery of the Wings of Valor for certain players. As a result, depending on when you digitally prepurchased the game, you may or may not have already received your wings. Here's how everything breaks down: Players who prepurchased Reaper of Souls before the script completed this afternoon will experience a delay in the delivery of their Wings of Valor. We’ve already developed a fix for this delay; however, we anticipate that the secondary script we’ll need to run to get the wings delivered to everyone will not complete until tomorrow morning (Pacific Time) at the earliest. We don’ t yet have an exact ETA to share for when the wings for this groups of players will be delivered, but we’ll be sure to provide an update in this thread as soon as we do. Players who digitally prepurchased Reaper of Souls after the script completed should experience no delay in the delivery of their Wings of Valor and can immediately redeem the item in-game. Similarly, any player who prepurchases Reaper of Souls going forward or claims a retail game key on or before March 31, 2014 will also be able to redeem the wings right away. We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience and will be sure to keep everyone updated as we work to get you your sparkly spoils. Thank you to all those who submitted reports!Lylirra850 Mar 24, 2014
Mar 24, 2014 Upcoming Hotfixes - 3/21/14 Some of you may have noticed I recently updated the Patch 2.0.3 Hotfixes to include a couple new upcoming changes. These hotfixes should be live later this afternoon, and we wanted to offer some clarification regarding these changes in advance (as well as to keep the Hotfix list clean of lengthy explanations). ... We've been listening to player feedback on difficulty rewards, and one of the most frequent comments we receive is that Torment difficulty isn't rewarding enough. As a result, we've reached the decision to make class-specific sets, specifically Natalya’s, Immortal Kings, Tal Rasha's, Inna's, and Zunimassa's, drop only in Torment I or above from this point forward. The class sets weren't designed as a progression, but rather as a lateral choice between different play styles. It makes sense for all of them to be obtained at the same difficulty level, alongside the other sets that will be available at 70 in Torment I+. This should also make these very strong items a little bit more rare, and when you reach level 70 and you see someone wearing a full set, you’ll know the level of play they needed to reach in order to acquire those items. The reward level of each difficulty setting and how they feel is very important to us, and it’s something we’ll continue to observe and tweak as we enter the expansion. ... It took us some time to evaluate whether or not we wanted to alter some of the current most popular runs. Our baseline for comparison for these alternative runs is to see how they stack up versus Adventure Mode and Bounty runs, and these different types of play should be on par (or at least fairly close). After extensive testing, we were finding this wasn't the case and came to the decision to make these changes. It’s a decision we wrestled with for a while, but ultimately, we want to avoid situations where the most efficient game play isn't necessarily the most engaging and our investigations revealed this to be that kind of situation. We want a larger variety, rather than only one or two particular routes, to be the most rewarding way to play. On a related note, we know a lot of you are still preparing for the launch of Reaper of Souls, so we’re also upping the ante on the Community bonus experience event. Starting right now and for this weekend only, the bonus experience provided will be upped from 50% to 100%. This should help you get all your nephalem heroes leveled and geared up for the battle against Malthael!Nevalistis978 Mar 24, 2014
Mar 19, 2014 Assistance w/HC Death Due to Missing Gear Greetings Adventurers, We’re currently investigating an issue that’s affecting some characters, causing their items, armor, and weapons to go missing upon login. Although this issue is in most situations temporary and can be corrected with repeated login attempts, there are reports that some Hardcore heroes were lost as a result of this. For accounts which were specifically impacted by this issue, our Support team is investigating the possibility of providing a special one-time exception to allow for a rollback of the account, and subsequent restoration of the fallen heroes. To contact our support with the request for this specific rollback exception, we encourage you to create a ticket through the following support portal with ‘MISSING GEAR DEATH’ in the body of the ticket: https://us.battle.net/support/en/help/ticket/d3/297 Please know that the decision to allow such an exception is not an easy one to make, and that this is not a guarantee that we will offer the rollback to all accounts that petition us with this request. Only accounts which we can verify were affected by this missing gear issue leading to the death of a Hardcore character will be considered for these rollbacks. With that said, we do want you to know that we are continuing to address this issue, and ask for all players to be aware that the issue is currently ongoing. Your deeds of valor will be remembered.Araxom0 Mar 19, 2014
