Just want to put this out there but bloody hell there is clearly some horrible routing in Australia, I mean look at below from Timbo2702, that's some seriously horrible ping within Australia before even hitting the server.

Part of it seems to have been caused by my router, which does this thing where it sometimes decides to go super slow and not respond when you go to it's IP address. Physically turning it off and on again seems to have given me ~150 ping.

While it's not the ~50 others are claiming to receive, it's definitely one heck of an improvement to what I was getting before. My thanks to Blizz for giving Australia some servers
I suffered from bad lag spikes and after the patch it became worse.
The test results you needed were erratic so i replaced the modem and router
The modem and router were 6 years old
All is now fixed 55ms steady thanks'
I think it was the router that was at fault but I replaced them both anyway.

You wouldn't be using a dlink router by any chance would you??

No, it's a Billion router (Supplied by my ISP) though I'm seriously considering replacing it with a Belkin or something

Which Billion is it? I'm using one of there cheap ones(granted not one an ISP issues) but still love it. Although guess everything can have a bad batch, I used to use netgear but had 3 of them die on me, went Billion and haven't looked back.

Yep logged out an hour ago it was too bad.
Melbourne/Vic

Telstra- Logged in just shy of 9pm AEST and was racking up to 1700 ms (max i've seen) but casually stays around 1300ms.

Note: When I was connecting to the USA prior to the local server/s I was getting around 100-150 ping.
Based on the d3debug thing following the instruction I've got this:
Phantom GameSession::ConnectToGameServer Joining 'Phantom' game at 103.4.114.15:1119

So it seems I've got the right server, I'm pretty much lost there.

This is defiantly an issue with blizzards servers/routing, I got sick of not being able to play on the Australian servers tonight.

I was getting 50ms off the Aussie servers, but horrible spikes that made the game unplayable, posted the info above.

Anyway I installed my vpn service from my other cpu to this one and changed my IP to make it American, now my ping is 350-400, like normal before we were moved to Sydney.

but guess what? I have no lag spikes. Please explain this? If it was my ISP I would also be having issues with other games, but I do not, playing WoW I also have no issues.

Its only when I am directed to the Aussie servers that I cannot play D3 in the nights due to Lag Spikes, the Ping is fine though.

Will this be looked at soon?

As I would like to play on the Aussie servers, but currently I cannot, but I can on the USA servers, as I dont have the issue.
Also getting huge lag spikes during peak hours. While I appreciate the thought of these new Australian servers I'd have appreciated an opt in or out option based on connection. I have no doubt it helps some of my fellow Australians but I've had nothing but trouble since they went live when I had perfect connection before.

My ISP is TPG and it runs beautifully when I try to do anything else, it's just D3 giving me the issues.

Here's my Tracert data
