Tales of the Unbeliever

Hardcore
With the lowering of the IAS stat on magic items I was noticing just how much the "balanced" non-magic items boost IAS (15%+). That got me thinking: how far could I get a character who didn't use a magic weapon, instead using the "balanced" weapons?

Thus, the "Unbeliever" was born. A hardcore male monk who doesn't believe in magic, thus is only using "white" items. I am using all the skills and runes available so there is still some healing and other techniques available for combat and survivability. His current main weapon is a "Balanced Staff" which gives him two-handed damage at one-handed weapon speeds.

Last night, shortly after reaching level 10, the Unbeliever vanquished the Skeleton King! For this fight he used a "Balanced Broad Axe" and a "Thick Targ Shield", the blocks from the shield helped him to absorb hits from Leoric.

Will he survive the rest of Act I and reach the Butcher? Stay tuned!
