300+%MF with No Legendaries for over 2 weeks

General Discussion
The thing is that MF% don't really matter if you stack NV and do the ELITE thing.
You get rares, legendaries anyways with 0 MF%. I suppose MF% adds a few extra rare here and there but with the random stats being so trashy 99% of the time who cares.

Conclusion is D3 is a waste of time nowadays. It's become that way if you farmed like I have and have found so many rares and useless Legendaries.
The argument that "half the forum says drops are good, half says drops are bad" is not any kind of evidence at all. Just wanted to point this out. In no way does it support the theory of locally-generated RNG (which is definitely interesting). It speaks much more to things such as Murphy's law, a wide variance in skill level, attitudes, expectations, "clearability" of the individual, and many other confounding factors.
2x 63 legendarys in a3 inferno this morning over 2 hour span. keep killing and !@#$

this amazes me. I checked out his gear and his MF is really non existant but, 2 lvl 63 legendaries today alone.

then there's me. 0 legendaries for 2 weeks.
i'm no expert on farming legs but here's my bit of advice.

try the alkaizer run, kill as much elites as you can as quick as you can. keep your games under 25 minutes.

edit: don't worry about having so much MF.
what is an alkaizer run?
Same here , this game is friggin whacked and stupid. Doesnt matter how fast , how many , MF gear or not. Act 1 ,2 ,3 or whatever

I have all but given up , cant even find a piece to use let alone try and sell.

Siegebreaker run , 5 stack , 314 % MF and a level 55 pos drops , screw you blizzard and your stupid Auction House 3 game.
Running with 0% mf

Had 2x natalyas boots drop within 10 mins of eachother at the same spot ( diffrent games though )

Had an OS andys helm with 165 int drop the other day aswell.

Besides that I have had 0 good legendarys and set items drop ever.

How I could have gotten 2x natalys boots within such a short timespan and at the same place is beyond me. My only exponation is that the games drop system is much more broken and fubared then in even our wildest dreams.
Random loot is ____________

Fill in blanks and you have your answer. Or were you just looking to complain?
My advice...focus on gold find because chances are better you getting hit by lightning 3 times in row than finding a GOOD legendary/set drop for your character, much less one you can put on the AH. The end game is the RMAH after all.

Random troll is _____________
I'm kind of curious if they "fixed" the follower-MF bug silently. I can get a reported 402% MF w/ my templar and 5 stacks (paragon 39) and see my personal MF cap at 300 sans templar. I also notice when I go full-on 402% MF I find very little in any act, but when I drop it back to "under 375 after valor + templar" (which is allegedly the "real" cap they intended) I start seeing frequent ilvl63s + legendaries again.

It is impossible for me to run < 115MF based on paragon alone. Or did you mean to suggest that there is some correlation between MF _gear_ and probability of set drops? Because that would be exactly the opposite of what we've been told.
OP I don't see anything wrong. You're meant to find a legendary every few months. Two weeks just isn't enough time. Just keep grinding, and grinding, and grinding, and eventually, you'll find that awesome legendary you've always wanted! Keep up the good work!

I was going to say that that sort of evidence actually points to RNG working as intended. If you went into a casino and saw half the people winning and half the people losing, you'd actually declare that the casino was super !@#$ing lucky (or more logically, that it was run by someone with no business sense).
At one point, I felt the same frustration. From my experience, this is what I found. MF does matter. I noticed more rares from 150%+ MF and more legedaries afte 200%+ MF. But, it's benefit seems to be slight. Killing faster seems to be a better option. So, I gave up on MF (unless it happened to be on some gear I was using and I do stack follower MF just in case). I just try to maxmize my DPS and grind out the Paragon levels.

It's not raining legendaries for me, and I haven't seen a set in weeks. But, I do get decent drops here and there, although I agree drop rates are pretty frustrating. Sometimes, I won't see a legendary for a week. Then, suddenly I get like 3-5 in 1 day.

If you grind it out, drops will come. Will the reward be worth the time spent? That part is debatable.
BTW, thanks guys ... to all who responded. It's been a pretty cool thing to see the different points of view. I've posted other things on this forum and just been railed. But, I just like that there are some people who haven't quit yet, so that we can talk openly about all this.

I just did yet another act 3 clear ... but this time with more dps gear (I removed around 100%MF) and nothing legendary dropped. I'm starting to wonder if maybe they meant to call these items: Imaginaries?

Anyway, If you all are feeling really generous with your time please check out my other post. I'm really hoping to get some of my PVP ideas heard by Blizzard at some point and the only way to do that is to get you all involved, requesting a sticky or a bump for this thread:

I've had MANY similar experiences. I'll hit a dry spell that lasts anywhere from 5-15 days, I used to tough it out and just keep playing for paragon, now if I haven't gotten a drop in 2 days I just go play something else and come back to D3 when I'm bored. Not really a solution but it seems as if when I haven't played for a while and come back I'll get a drop within 3-5 hrs of play. Haven't thoroughly tested this but it's held true for the last 4-5 boring cycles.

I do this all the time
I've found probably 200+ set items/legendaries since 1.04 with close to max MF. The set ring and offhand I am wearing are both worth probably 300M each http://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Freudian-2775/hero/18590 , at least two each of of Immortal King's/Inna's/Zunimassa's that sold for at least 30M each, an Oculus that I sold for ~75M and five Vile Wards (sold for 300-350M combined) are the highlights.

MF seems to work for me.

RMAH is the root cause of all that is evil in this world, including your lousy loot.

This.

I don't doubt it. What i'm starting to think is that some people get great drops and some don't. Even though my mf is high and I'm killing pretty quickly ... clearing those act 3s. I'm just not getting the items. Meanwhile, people on here are telling me that theyr'e doing great. I dont' know man
