Best rune for Rapid Fire 1.08

Bombardment.
Right now my setup (in my profile) is what I use for paragon farming. I personally feel like MY aim with bombardment as my only hatred spender to clear trash and elites is horrible. That's why I still use BL to wipe out trash quickly and Bombardment on Elites only (instead of Echoing Blast).

Definitely for Ubers and other boss encounters, Fire Support is the best. I use MfD - Mortal Enemy and Bat to essentially get an endless supply of Hatred. I just stand in one spot pop gloom before channeling and just go at the boss and use Gloom anytime I am in danger.

High Velocity because of it's chance to pierce therefore causing AOE. Goes really good with Bola Shot Thunderball and Spike Traps for maximum damage
If you use shadow power, you have to recast rapid fire for it to apply lifesteal, weird yes but that's how I found an easy way around it.
High Velocity, serious back line machine gun for the group.
simple, lower mps first 4, higher mps Bombardment.
as for me mp0 to mp9 first 4, mp10 Bombardment
All the runes are designed really well.

Its really dependent on what exactly you are using RF for.
Is fire support calculated critical dmg 728% from weapon dmg count for 1 hit target or 438% weapon dmg + 2x145 anothers target? It is summed up separately or its 1 hit target per tick?

And another question from d3up : what does Proc Coefficient: 16.7% mean in description of skill?

No, its calculated as ApS= Break Point Tick Range, each tick = 73% Weapon Damage as Physical. Then 2 rockets that shoot every second, for 145.

The d3up value is Versus a single target, @1 ApS and assuming all arrows and rockets have made contact. 438% + (145% * 2) = 728%

His damage calculation for Rapid fire reallllly off right now because it doesn't take into consideration breakpoints. I've contacted him and he will be fixing his damage calculation though.

This is the chance to proc things like Knockback, Life on Hit and Night Stalker. Each arrow or rocket fired from RF has a 16.7% chance of your chance to knockback/stun/freeze/ect. So if you had a 50% KB windforce, each tick/rocket from rapid fire would have an 8.35% chance to Knockback. If you had 1000 LoH you would recover 167 life per arrow/rocket

Personally I like Web Shot and Fire Support the most. I really like Web Shot because the slowing unlocks CtW and keeps the enemies at bay and making it really easy to lead the shot, I find this provides the most consistent damage. I really like Fire Support as well, but since the rockets don't always hit the intended target it makes the main spray of FS a little weaker then WS at times. The 2 free ticks from FS is awesome as well, lots of life steal and potential Discipline from night stalker.
Fire support for me. I found bombardment difficult to aim and the delay before it finds the target is a big minus. FS is great for fast moving single target like goblin, bees and some elites. Right now I'm using it with echoing blast and caltrops jagged spikes, works really well.

Could you explain where 73% came from?

You shoot at:
ApS = 1.65 * 1.60 * 1.11
= 2.9304 ApS

No, all 6 ticks + 2 rockets = 728% dmg for an initial 20 Hatred from starting and 6 Hatred per channeled second. You would do 728% weapon damage per click if all arrows/rockets connect with one target, but will do 1750% weapon damage per second while channeling.

Not a problem!

Basically I said it doesn't improve rapid fire damage because even though your inventory says your damage increased, you don't actually shoot anymore arrows with rapid fire. As I mentioned, you're in the 2.501 - 3.333 BP, meaning that ANY ApS value between 2.501 - 3.333 will always shoot 20 arrows. Rapid Fire damage is actually calculated as:
RF DPS = S * C * A * M * T
S = 1 + (dexterity * 0.01)
C = 1 + (crit chance + RF crit chance * 0.01) * (crit damage * 0.01)
A = MH Avg + Elemental Damage
M = 1 + (Bonus Damage *0.01) bonus damage is: SA, CtW, Skill specific bonuses like DML
T = (Tick Rate * Tick Rate Damage + Rocket Damage * 2 ) * 0.01

lets use your char as an example:
S = 1 + (dexterity * 0.01)
S = 1 + (3406 * 0.01)
S = 35.06

C = 1 + (crit chance + rf crit chance * 0.01) * (crit damage * 0.01)
C = 1 + (63% +4% * 0.01) * (372% * 0.01)
C = 3.4924

MH Avg = (708.1 + 1163.62) / 2 = 935.86

A = 935.86 + 0 Ele Damage
A = 935.86

@ApS = 1.65 * 1.60 * 1.11
= 2.9304 ApS

As you can see the damage calculation only used IAS to determine your breakpoint. Now lets say you replaced your DML with one that had 350dext/10cc/8cc to rf/ 10IAS.

S = 1 + (3445 * 0.01)
S = 35.45

C = 1 + (crit chance + rf crit chance * 0.01) * (crit damage * 0.01)
C = 1 + (63% +8% * 0.01) * (372% * 0.01)
C = 3.6412

MH Avg = (708.1 + 1163.62) / 2 = 935.86

A = 935.86 + 0 Ele Damage
A = 935.86

@ApS = 1.57 * 1.60 * 1.11
= 2.78832 ApS

So by replacing some unnecessary IAS with CHC/CHD/Dexterity/Average Damage, you'll increase the damage of rapid fire, but you will now shoot Bola's at slower rate and refill hatred slightly slower.
Bola/echoing blast for normal mobs to thin the herd.

Fire support for 1 to 2 elites or 2 elites and that occassional champion.

Smoke screen/special recipe to break those annoying freeze and fear elites so u can keep dishing the pain.
