Hey, I just made this account,
And this is crazy,
But I've got hacked and lost 100 bees,
So rollback me, maybe?

Gold prices will skyrocket now that the main gold source is getting removed. If you want to buy gold anytime soon, better do it now than later.
To everyone saying "just protect your account", I protected my account with an authenticator. Then my phone dies (twice) requiring me to reset my authenticator. Now I am banned from the RMAH, which is funny seeing as how Blizz seems to be pushing people towards using it. So I ended up losing from having an authenticator instead of benefiting.

Write down the code that you are told to write down and restore it on another phone if yours die. You don't need to reset any authenticator.
Radiant Star – 10

Gold restored will be limited to 10 million.
\

10 mil also makes no sense because that is $0.25 worth of gold lol. At least make it $2 worth. No one is going to fake the nightmare of a hacked account for 2 bucks imo.

Using your last sentence, looks to me that Blizzard accomplished what they intend to do then.

If you're that rich, and don't want to secure your account, you know now ahead of time what the restoration process will give you.

I like it.
So we get 1 radiant gem per character if we have a full roster?
This change doesnt impact me at all...because like....I dont cheat :>
Gold:Gold restored will be limited to 10 million.

Yikes.
Imagine a legit billionaires account becoming compromised and all of a sudden...

not much of a big deal, cause he would get the gear back. the gear is what matters. you can just go out and farm and make the gold back eventually, as long as your characters are still godly.
Yikes.

I'm sorry, but if you are "rich" and you don't protect yourself accordingly, it's kind of looking for trouble.

Common sense does dictate that if your account has a higher value, you would better protect it.

Makes you wonder why so many HIGH VALUED accounts got compromised eh?

Oh, maybe because it was their buddy doing the 'hacking'? :)

About time these policies got introduced..
Stupid amateurs.
This change should have been made before launch so maybe today the prices would be a couple of digits shorter.

It boggles my mind that up until now blizzard just sticked their fingers in their database and duplicated items for you if you said you were hacked - in a game which linked with money, I might add.

If only banks would work like this...
Just want to make sure I am reading this correctly. With the gem rollback you will be allowed

Radiant Star

10 amethyst
10 topaz
10 ruby
10 emerald

10 of each is more or less what I am asking.
For the people saying or implying that the lack of full restoration of commodities such as gems and gold is unfair, think about it this way.

If you care about your account, if you care about what you have on the account, be it gear, gold, excess crafting materials and gems, wouldn't you protect it? Much like you would protect things you hold onto in real life? No security measure is 100% foolproof, but just by having a good password supplemented with an authenticator can go far in preventing account compromises. Without a doubt, it'll be much better than having no security measures.

Key words here are: Protect. Your. Account.

How do you protect your account if someone call's customer service, impersonates you, and manages to convince the rep take the authenticator off your account? Unless you mean there's a level above an authenticator.

Exactly, that's the point of doing all this. To prevent false claims of account compromise just to dupe items/gold. Get it?

Listen to this man, it doesn't require a PhD in order to figure out why they changed it.

These restrictions are ridiculous. Why do you restrict the number of crafting materials if they are cheap? And 10 million is very little considering the ongoing inflation. This number should be 100 million.

"Ridiculous"?

All people do here is complain about "duping". Which is really just greedy little jerks whom abuse the rollback service.

Protect your account. Learn how not to get hacked and I say....good on them. This will hurt the "duping" practice tremendously.
To Lylirra (Urgent):

  • Please personally control that developers will handle removal of gems already socketed into items. If gems socketed into items won’t be removed, the possibility of huge dupes will remain.
  • Please control that non socketed gems are also removed from AH Completed, Auctions listings.

Maximum gems socketed into items per account (each chest/character slot could be filled with 3 socket armor with a Radiant Star gem):
10 Characters slots = 900
3 Chest pages = 315
10 Characters items gems = 140 (Updated. Thanks to Darlynn)
30 Mercenaries = 4*30 + 10 (Templar shields) = 130
Allowed gems to keep = 40 - 6 (used slots) = 34
GAH/RMAH Auction Completed window = 50 * 3 (Socketed chest armors) * 2 (add 1 for each national currency RMAH) = 300 (Updated. Thanks to Grave)
Total = 1819 Radiant Stars per account.

It is still about 40 billion gold.
10mil ?

What kind of dirty troll like joke is this.

I had everything on my account, even an authenticator. The person that hacked me somehow convinced some clearly not all that bright Blizzard employee to take it off...

Forgive me if my faith in Blizzard's security is not exactly anywhere near 100%. You can do everything right and still get hacked.

Yikes.

If someone has billions of gold and no authenticator they were asking to lose it all.

And again the authenticator is NOT full proof.

Further it emphasizes Blizzard wants you to use RMAH for all funds.

Agreed...
I'm not even rich.........
People trade bil of gold like np...
I have 200m and I think I cant further improve my chars...

I'm glad I never lost anything except, at one point, the a.h. nom nom'd one of my item's transaction. Never saw the gold of it (75m I think). Which was also my biggest. Thought it would come through one day but it never did.
I could easily upgrade at least 2-3 pieces of ur gear with 200 mil hell maybe even a 4th if i get lucky.
