Out of Range Error with monitor

Technical Support
Hello, I have searched these forums but cannot find a thread about this...

Simple: My monitor is giving me an out of range error when starting sc2, but I can play other games like warcraft 3.

How do I fix this? Here is my DXDiag:

"Out of range" monitor errors typically happen when you've set your resolution to display higher than the monitor can support.
you are trying to run either a resolution your monitor doesn't support, or have the refresh rate in game set at something your monitor doesn't support.
post your variable.txt, look for monitor resolution in there, make sure it's something that your monitor actually supports.
There is no monitor resolution posted in the variable.txt, and the only time the monitor goes out of range is when I actually click to open starcraft II. I know what causes the problem, but not how to fix it. My drivers are up to date, and I really just need to find a workaround to be able to change the in-game resolution to fix this problem.
the resolution is in the variables.txt located in:

Users>"username">My Documents>StarCraft II

just look for "height" and "width" they are not together. In mine, height is towards the top, width is the last item

Yeah, I finally fixed it by changing the width and height to what my monitor was set on, but I also had to make the file a read-only file, since the variables file was being re-written over and over for some reason. Works now though.
Hi all,

Just the same case here. I need support. I can't find height and width in my variables file. Please help me.
