Updating setup files... / Launcher Agent

Mac Technical Support
Hello everyone and happy patch day!

I know a few people have been experiencing issues this morning, myself included. Hopefully with our help Blizzard can get the info they need to get us up and running!

After the patch process completed, I have been facing two (probably related) obstacles. The first is upon launching the game a window titled "StarCraft II Setup" pops up with a progress bar and message saying "Updating setup files..." Nothing progresses. I let it run for about two hours.

A few other times when I have launched the game I get a dialogue box saying "Agent wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this."

When I enter my password, the splash screen that reads "Launcher connecting to patch server..." just sits there. If I try to quit, the launcher becomes unresponsive and I have to force quit which generates a crash report.

Additional info:
MacBook Pro 15-inch Mid 2012
Processor 2.3 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
OS X 10.8
One account on computer with full Admin privileges.

If a blue needs any more information please let me know, I'll keep an eye on this thread.

Thanks!
I am in the process of completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game. Hopefully that works...

-=EDIT=-

I completed the reinstall and it's still broken. Different issue now though, now when I launch SC2 it displays the updating screen and immediately jumps from 0% to 100% and then prompts me with a message stating "Starcraft II Migration Setup wants to make changes. Type your password to allow this."

I type my password, click OK and then am immediately given the error "Failed to extract required files from an archive. Please try again. Gives me the link of BLZPTS00008 which essentially says uninstall and reinstall.

I have been spending all day troubleshooting and I frankly don't have the patience to deal with this anymore. I've done all the troubleshooting I can think of, and I don't have time to download 7GB and then wait for the patch data over my crappy internet connection over and over again.

I hate to say it, but I was a dedicated WoW player, and quit because of these types recurring problems. I bought Diablo III and my account never unlocked from a trial account despite being told to "just wait". I ended up getting a refund for D3 and I don't plan on buying it again.

I love the games, but I think I've reached the tipping point and have lost faith in Blizzard.

I have the exact same problem on my macbook air 13 inch running on latest snow leopard. I have another macbook pro and mac mini on lion without this problem. This is REALLY irritating. I can't believe Blizzard screws this one up so bad
Same problem, too. I didn't see this thread actually, and made my own. But yep, same problem. It's just... stuck.
So I quit being a whiny man baby, and reinstalled the game a second time. All my issues were resolved!

Hope this helps!
If this Starcraft II setup doesn't work , you will need to run it in compatability mode, find the path of your
"StarCraft-II-Setup-enUS.exe" file and set compatability mode for windows XP and run as administrator.
I would recommend disabling your firewall or enabling this file through your firewall in order to let this download with no problems

optimal download size is 7.85GB

http://dist.blizzard.com/downloads/sc2-installers/full/StarCraft-II-Setup-enUS.exe
.exe files won't work on Macs :(
