scouting

Protoss Discussion
guys i have this thinking that if you know everything what your opponent is doing (like playing without fog) you can win like 95% because you know how why and when to react. In hots hallucination no longer requires research with that do you think its safe to say that getting early sentry for scouting would help alot? before of course getting a real observer.

PS: im just in gold league btw
Having even partial info on what your opponent is doing is essential to playing. Although at higher levels it'd be rare to be able to ever have complete info on your enemy, learning to get info from the small things that you scout - gas timing, expo, unit comp/size - will really benefit you.

having early sentry purely for halluc might be hard. sentries are needed in many cases for the force fields, and to have enough sentires to be making hallucinations consistently can be a huge investment. Learning to get a lot of general info from little scouting is probably more important than having a ton of obs/halluc to always see what they're doing.

btw for a tip on scouting, scout for what they can't be doing rather than what they are doing. IE if you see them getting 2 gases in the early game they can't be doing an expand build (unless it's really bad in which case you should win anyways). If they're expanding they wont have a huge army. etc etc.

this really helps ! thanks !
Will be useful in pvt for sure. Losing 1 FF will rarely hurt you very much. The other matchups are easy to scout with probes and you'll have obs out soon enough to see what you need to see in any matchup.
