I've played wings of liberty for ages without any issues but today on the HOTS launch I am now getting client side cache read connection failed every time I try to play a game online. Campaign works fine. I've already tried deleting all cache files and it just keeps happening.


Even after a COMPLETE re-install of the game this error is still coming up. Desperately need some help! Thanks!
Hey Yateball, can you try deleting the StarCraft II folder from the Documents folder?

C:\Users\<username>\Documents\StarCraft II
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm PST
Yes I'd done that before my complete re-install and it didn't fix the issue either

I have the same issue. Do you not know exactly what in the starcraft II folder is causing the problem. I don't want to delete my folders with all my replays
Try deleting the Variables.txt file first.

I deleted the entire folder and no change. It will say downloading item 1/5 when I search, go for awhile then give the error.
Having the same issue, at first attempt, i couldnt even see my portrait. Since i remove the folder in my documents, i can at least see my portrait, but i still cant play.
Now it says download failed
Let's power cycle your network, and flush the DNS cache.

I'm having the same issue exactly.

I deleted the folder and still....nothing,...I will try the power cycle / flush

Remember, Firewalls and other similar programs will block parts of SC2 not directly connected to the Executable... Troubleshooting GUIDE:

    Turn of all Firewalls, Anti-Virus, Peer Block, Etc.
    Disable Firewall on Router and Open Nat.
    All else fails direct connect PC to Modem and see if you get a good connection.
I flushed my DNS cache and it's working now!
DNS issue.... *facepalm

i am still unfortunate...

and yet....clientside issues.

Same issue but the flushing worked ;-) Thanks guys I would have never thought that was an issue as everything else is running fine. Glad to know I didn't have to reinstall!
