The scan shows nothing major beneath the ground, just the tectonic plates moving around. Something metallic was also down there beneath the earth, but it was easy to assume that it was an ore of some kind.

Over at the mineral clusters, as the Construction Drone collects the mineral shards, three of them rise up on their own, with two of them aiming at the Shade, and one at the Drone. They fly forward toward their targets, something guiding them toward their targets.

[Scylla's Swarm]
Several sections around each base had tunnels, possibly from natural burrowing predators. Although the Protoss and the Ser'vanar would not be able to make use of such tunnels, the Zerg creatures would be able make use of them.
Thanks to being fully automated, the Ser'vanar constructs react almost instantly to the threat, the Shade's twin plasma lances blowing the two shards aimed at it to dust before they have a chance to hit. The drone's electrical attack is ineffective against the flying piece of mineral, and it pierces the hull of the drone, damaging the electronics and causing it to fall to the ground, the shard still embedded in the hull.

The mineral cluster was now tagged with both [threat] and [anomaly]. The Archive Ship's processors took in this information, before coming to a conclusion a few seconds later. Because of the limited forces currently available, the [threat] must be destroyed, even if it was an [anomaly] which otherwise would have taken to further study. The Shade picks up the damaged construction drone and returns to the base to have it repaired, while the stationary beam cannons aim at the mineral cluster and blast it to pieces, not stopping until the cluster and everything within a five meter radius of it was little more than dust.

The metallic object below the ground was tagged with [object of interest] and [useful?], and it's position marked on the map of the planet contained within the Archive Ship's data banks, but disregarded as not being of high importance in comparison to other tasks.
Mecha, overconfidence kills. Remember that.

Oh Scylla knows to watch for the underdogs, your Lorians are not safe.

IC: Nagg quickly led his pack into the tunnels below the Servnar and started to patrol the tunnels, waiting for an unlucky Servnar to move unwittingly ontop of the tunnels.
"Imperator, our scouts are finished with their job! Here is the map you requested."

"Hm...that's quite a contentious force. If it were just us, we would probably number the smallest. We will need to use the Slave Broods. Subjugator Ramadar!"

"You called Imperator?"

"We are ready to bring in the Slave Broods."

"Very well. Beginning warp in sequence."
We were about halfway up the mountain when I stopped to look back down. Seems whatever it was that called us all here was well hidden and that someone didn't want it to be found. That was fine with me. Just gave me an excuse to leave the other factions alone until it was found. Surveying the work of the unknown fleet, I can't help but whistle to myself. Sure do work fast... Looking over my escort, I glance back up the mountain. We were about halfway to the SCVs. "Let's go, breaks over." The Spartans nod and we resume climbing, weapons at the ready to retaliate against sneak attacks.
[Lorian]
More boulders rolled down, some coming very close to hitting the Cayl and the Spartans. Another SCV rolls down the mountain, a boulder falling behind it.
I bring my halberd to bear and motion for the Spartans to pick a lane of fire. That wasn't natural falling.
More boulders continue to fall and roll down the mountains. A particularly large one, almost twice the size of a thor, seemed to be jammed up the mountain.
I raise an eyebrow at the boulder. "That's...odd." A Spartan approaches me.

"Want us to clear it?" I shake my head and move towards it.
A boulder rolls down directly into the path of Cayl. Another boulder looks as though it would hit an SCV.

Cursing to myself, I slam a pillar of earth into the boulder bound for the SCV and send it flying off the mountain before stopping the boulder in front of me, just inches from crushing me. Too close...
(Owl, your post was not swallowed. I just haven't had a reason to post on it yet. Plus, its on this same page. Kinda hard to miss, you know.)

[Lorain]
More boulders began rolling down the mountain. Strangely, something black hovered into view, moving down toward the large boulder.

The mineral cluster was destroyed, but the ground began to shake again. The metal object below the base disappeared from scanners.
Focusing my energy on the boulders, I redirect them in other directions. "James, fire on the black thing, see what happens." The Spartan who had approached me earlier nods and all of them fire on the strange black object, but only a single burst.

OOC: Kay. Wasn't sure if the forums ate it or not, they were bugging out a fair bit when I posted it. I've had things previously appear but be invisible to everyone else, so it wouldn't have been the first time.

IC: The beam cannons are readied again, following the same procedures as before. The location of the metallic object is now also marked with [anomaly] and [threat?].
Through the thick white snowy fog, the scarlet light of five warped khaydarin crystal housed safely within a control hub dimly lit the outskirts of the Tal'darim base. A pair of controllers were situated at each hub, protected by photon cannons and guards. Probes began to warp in monolithic looking device at each location.

The controller focused their psionic energy within the crystal.

"Control of the warp khaydarin crystal established. We still have two more crystals not in place but we are ready. We shall begin the warp sequence at your mark Imperator."

"Do it now," Telnis replied.

"Abbadon Brood warp sequence initiating."

"Abalan Brood warp sequence initiating."

"Carabia Brood warp sequence initiating."

"Bune Brood warp sequence initiating."

"Sitri Brood warp sequence initiating."

From each the warp beacons, mutated Zerg began to pour fourth. First came the overlord, the drones, and then the warriors of the brood. The drones began to morph themselves into hatcheries while the overlords began to spew creep.
[Lorian]
The object stops moving after the Spartan fired. Soon afterward, a orange beam came flying back to the Spartan, destroying his weapon. The object then went back to what it was doing, moving once again toward the large boulder.
James is quick to draw his side arm, about to fire it as well when I shake my head no. "Let it be. Clearly we can't engage it safely." He grimaces behind his helmet and lowers the weapon, waiting.
The black object approaches the boulder, and appears to be doing something with it. It is joined by a second black object, and soon, the boulder begins to move.....
.....straight down the mountain. The black objects disappear from sight as the boulder rolls down.
