I'm not honestly sure if this hot fix is going to be a client side patch.

It's listed on a hotfixes board yes. But it lists a new patch version (4.0.6a)

It's possible there may be a patch pushed out on the launcher but I'm at work atm so I can't confirm that.

I believe it is Client side as I am being asked to get a patch before playing. Would love another wonderful mirror if you enjoy doing that when not at work=) Last one was excellent, really helps military and college campus users!
Yes, there was a new patch about 5 am this morning. It should be 4.0.6a (4.0.6.13623).

do u have the 4.06a patch mirror up i need to download it wont let me upgrade the new patch plz help
i have 4.06 already it wont let me upgrade to 4.06a though
It's in the works, but may take 24-48 hours from release to package up and verifications from our party and the mirror sites party. Blu is working to try to get one up later on. no ETA yet.

Watch for bluspacecow's unofficial patch (if he can make one) thread later today/tomorrow. In a couple days or so there should be an official one.
is there a reason why i cant download the patch my firewall is down for wow but it wont update it goes to login screen i enter my password it goes to for a min than say i need to download patch?
Could be a number of factors.

Do you get any error messages?
Any security software like PeerGuardian, LittleSnitch, Norton, etc?
How are you connected to the internet (wireless, wired directly to modem, or wired directly to router)?

no error messages it just say i need to download patch than exits wow and does nothing im on a mac with wireless internet no security programs installed
You need to use the launcher. You shouldn't be opening WoW.app directly.

my installer doesnt work i click it and it opens and closes i tried to repair it but still doesnt work?
Try this.

Delete the following folders:
-Blizzard folder found under Mac HD/Users/Shared/
-Interface, WTF and Cache folder located in /Applications/World of Warcraft/
-Cache folder located in /Applications/World of Warcraft/Data

Run the Repair Tool located in Applications/World of Warcraft

Anything?

no still wont let me open blizzard launcher?
i reinstalled wow on my computer but had to install the patch mirrors cause the blizzards launcher didnt work?

Let's try permissions as well.

Please use the steps below to repair file permission settings on the hard drive.

1. Navigate to /Applications/Utilities/ and open Disk Utility
2. Select the hard drive the game is installed on
3. Select the First Aid option
4. Click on the Repair Disk Permissions button

Reset the permissions on your WoW folder:
1. Select the World of Warcraft folder
2. Press Command + I
3. In the Info box, go to the Sharing & Permissions section and click on the lock and unlock it, entering your admin password when prompted.
4. make sure you have Read & Write permissions
5. Click on the Burst icon (cog wheel) and select Apply to enclosed items

ok i got to reset permissions on ur wow folder section where do i go for step 1-2?
nvm i did everything and it was on read and write permissions still no luck?
should i reinstall wow again and try to see if launcher works to download patchs without mirrors?
Having similar problems. Installed this mornings patch just fine, even played for a bit. The next time I tried to log in it stayed at "Connecting". When I attempted to run the repair I'm told that I cannot connect to blizzard and to disable firewalls, etc. I haven't changed my settings since I played this morning. I attempted to redownload the game client and get the same message.
