In-realm pugs only?

That isn't just a coincidence. Many players have stated since the release of the Dungeon Finder that they like the convenience of being matched for a group automatically, but they miss the feeling of community when they're paired with strangers from other realms with whom they might never speak again. So we made a slight change in the way the Dungeon Finder sorts through the queue matching players for a dungeon.

This was a late addition to the patch notes made yesterday evening:

The Dungeon Finder will attempt to place players from the same realm in a party together.

O wow nice, a step in a good direction. Thank you!

I don't entirely care for it. Give me an option to select outside my realm. There are two guilds on my server with whom I want no contact.

The only thing i dont like about this, is that there comes with this a harrashment issue, if you somehow get paired with someone that you are in the same realm with and you happen to not get along with that person then it makes for a bad group as they will try to ridicule you and mess with the group the whole time.

If they would mess with the group, put them on your ignore list. You won't be paired with people on your ignore list.
FINALLY! This change is amazing! Seriously anyone who feels like this is a bad thing has completely forgotten what an MMORPG should be. This is a multiplayer game where we play with each other in our worlds and should be concerned about the community on that world.

It has been nice to find dungeon groups easily with the dungeon finder but at the cost of the server communities. It makes very little sense anymore for guilds to converse with anyone outside of their own guild anymore. This is a good compromise.

I'm getting sick of seeing this game become more and more like some online Xbox 360/PS3 game where you just sign on to dungeon finder and get your short little game with random people you have no relation to and will never see again who don't even care to act like civilized players when it comes to etiquette in addition to never seeing anyone's name being used because everyone just calls each other by their role or class.

That is not how an MMORPG should play out and this is just another one of those stupid Wrath carry-overs that the "me-now" players got used to and now have something more to cry about when a part of the game that never should have been there to begin with gets taken away.

This is further proven by looking at most of your responses which are simply the likes of "I don't like the people on my server so this should be removed from the game and/or changed so that it works for me". Yes because you are the only person who plays this game, furthering my point that you should just go play your console games on Xbox Live which is obviously the style of gaming you prefer instead of ruining this game and how great it is and still can be.
If I wanted to group with players from my own realm, I would find a group in trade. As someone else said, would be really nice if we had the option.

(yes stranded... $250 to xfer is a ludicrous proposition)

I know what you mean, wtb discounted rate for multiple toon transfer.
This is an improvement certainly, but when are you going to allow cross realm grouping via RealID? Most of us have friends on other servers and don't have the time or inclination to set up separate toons on all of them. If this were possible, a lot of the whining about the Dungeon Finder would likely go away and you might not have to bribe tanks and healers to use it.

I like the change, means you will more likely get the same people to PuG with. Can be good, learn how each other works. Can be bad, oh no not 'him' again.
My realm has a lot of good players.

I like this change.

ITT: very bad players wanting no consequence for doing terrible in their group

Oh I like that! Its true that sometimes you make a friend but then never see them again :( It also helps you get to know your server better!
Overall a good change, not so good for people from niche servers like the op, or me, from an rp realm. I was happy when the lfd came out that the success rate of a pug went up compared to one made through trade. Yes WA is that bad if you randomly pick people from the general population.

I haven't noticed alot of people from my realm when I do heroics on shadow council.. Is it really supposed to pair you up with your server?

The operative word is 'attempt'...it will attempt to include players from your server.

MOST people saying no to this seem to say their realm is fail, do what a great deal of players do. Suck it up, tell them mechanics, wipe, re explain mechanics and what went wrong. Its only gonna help the next peeps that they go with. That or guild group it up.

I suppose it's really too much to expect everyone on bad servers (apparently most everyone is on a bad server <ha ha>) to grab the opportunity to raise the level of play on their server, even if only the tiniest amount.

Generally, I think this is a very great thing and long overdue.

But really, the one thing that is a concern to me, and to perhaps a few here that won't own up to it, is that I don't play all the time and due to real life stuff sometimes I'm away for a week or more at a time. The effect of that is that some nights I'm good, some nights I'm average and once in a while I'm a little slow on the uptake and outright suck (at least until I get back into the swing of things). I suspect this happens to everyone but the nights when I'm less than good will now possibly have consequences for me on my realm. I can't say I'm wild about that idea but I'll survive.

There, I said what no one will say. Flame away and call me bad if you must.
My suggestion would be to move to another server that has more english speaking players. There's nothing wrong with a different language, but if it's interfering with your game play, I'd pack up and move. It's only $25 and if it helps then go for it. I play on Terokkar and I rarely come across non-english speaking players. Even when I was a horde toon on Terokkar I didn't come across a non-english speaking player. So good luck with whatever you choose. :)
