Free account for WoW veterens

This morning I got up to find an email from Blizzard that said:
As a thank you for being a veteran World of Warcraft® subscriber, we're giving you a FREE copy of World of Warcraft to share with a friend.

I'm wondering if I can use that key with RAF. Has anyone tried yet?

Edit: I've found out that yes, this is possible. The issue I'm having is that the 30 day account key did not give me 30 days, it still only has the 10 days from the trial account. But it's a full account.
You can already sent wow for free to friends.
That email is not from Blizzard.
No, it's legit. It's from Newsletter@email.blizzard.com (And not masked to appear as such when it's really a different email), and there are no links. Just a CD key for a full vanilla account w/ 30 days. It came to the email I use solely for my Bnet. Said email has never gotten any spam of any sort, much less all the fake WoW emails.
Scam. Don't do it.

If it doesn't cost $10 or $25, it isn't from Blizzard! <3
It's without a doubt a scam. You can already do that.

Scammers are getting REALLY good, to the point where they can easily fake e-mail addresses. And I mean these guys are getting scary good.

Whatever you do, do NOT do it. Blizzard has not announced anything for it.
As a point of reference, here is a screencap (with the key blurred of course)

Edit: The link goes directly to Bnet too. I'm serious, this is legit. I have -never- received a scam WoW email to this address.
You know what? If you aren't gonna listen to us, go ahead. Click it and give the link to all your friends. Good luck with that.

This is when I knew that the OP was trolling.

Not trolling at all. I am genuinely curious if I can RAF with this.

And there is no link I have to click

Seriously. Look at the screenshot I posted.

Its a scam. But go ahead and do it if you want your WoW account/computer to be hacked. Blizz would NEVER do something like this.
Okay. So I recruited myself and entered the key.
Guess what guys, it worked.

You're all dumb. Not a scam at all.
