Is this 'gambling' illegal in-game?

General Discussion
So I have The Last Relic of Argus, and I decided to have a little fun with it just now.

I went in trade chat and said that I would use the artifact, and if anyone correctly predicted which zone I landed in, they would win 1000 gold (no one won lol). I got a bunch of guesses, and people generally liked my game, but then a couple people said that I could get banned for 'gambling'.

Can I seriously get banned for doing this?
I know in game "casinos" are banned, but I'm not sure of these kinds of things. Did you charge people for guesses?
I don't see how that's gambling. They weren't betting.
That's not really gambling, as no one lost any money from guessing.
Not gambling if they're not placing bets. More of a prize deal.
It's not illegal. It's only illegal to advertise it.
It's like hide and seek, but they have to find you before you get there.

Nothing wrong with that.

This. You weren't charging for guesses, you were offering a prize to the right one.

If people really consider this gambling they need to get out more. Gambling in this scenario would be if you had people betting i.e. putting down gold, on the zones they guessed and then winning the cumulative pot at the end if their guess was correct while everyone else would be out money.

All they lost with you was a few seconds of their time to type out a guess. I've actually thought of doing this with enchanting scrolls that send you to Shatt on my enchanter that she's above level for, hence the results are 'unpredictable'.

Sadly, someone probably did waste a GM's time by reporting you. People need to lighten up and remember to have some fun in this game. No one was forcing anyone to make guesses and even if they had placed money on their guesses no one was forcing them to do that either.
That would not have worked. Those scrolls always go to the user's hearthstone location. And they require inscription to use them anyway.

Like others have said, that's not gambling.
