Unstable Magma is unreasonable now

The Unstable Magma are obtaining their energy WAY too fast now compared to before. We kill the Flamewaker Subjugator and this guy's already at 90. What are we supposed to do about that? the amount of AOE they release is too much.
Having this trouble as well, the magma is getting to 100 energy before the subjugator is even dead.
Same with us... can't get by them.
It's a very annoying change. You have to kill the channelers as their shields drop before killing the subjugator.
We ran into this issue, too. Ended up wiping whenever the fire elemental broke free. The way we previously did this was to kill the Subjugator, then kill the four casters, then the Magma, and he was generally at middle to lower energy levels. We're not a terrible raid group and have the first five on farm status so it's not a case of poor dps or coordination.
Keep in mind that this may be a deliberate change. Blizzard has done something of a tweaking sweep over the Firelands raid in the last few days - it's possible this was the speed he was meant to go at all along. Firelands trash does seem to have a common theme of killing the "little ones" first, and this particular pack always felt abnormally easy.

Sometimes bugs make things harder than they should be, sometimes they make things easier. Sometimes, though, Blizzard just changes their mind about how difficult something should be.

Blizz needs to pick it up with hotfix notes, they've been steadily falling behind.
Had no problem killing this. Pop a raid cd if it's that detrimental to your health.
Amen...as a former Scyer player, its got to be double rough to get smacked in the face with this sort of thing, raider's good, bad or otherwise don't grow on trees and I can see having some of them not able to cope well with this, especially in 10mans.

Can we at least get a confirmation as to whether this is a bug or not? ;_;
I really hope this is a bug. those stacks really go up way to fast.
Ouch! The fire, it burns!! >=(

Not cool, blizz... at least either confirm whether its intentional or bug
It's not a bug. Whenever he casts Motivate, your raid needs to stop DPS and swap to the channeler he cast it on. It drops their damage reduction shield so that you can nuke them down ASAP. It's kinda like the packs with the big elemental and 3 small ones that ignite when the big one gets to a certain percentage. The difference is you're going to see a lot more raid pain if you don't react to the %-based events on the Subjugator packs.
They basically fixed the trash to work the way it was supposed to. Kill the mob he casts motivate on (it drops their 80% damage reduction shield). With motivate on that cast, it causes the fire elemental to gain mana quick.
Thanks for the tips on how to do it 'properly' now, Thecheat. It just would've been much appreciated if Blizzard announced the change rather than wiping once really fast, doing the next pack and trying it again how we've done it many times, dying and just left wondering what the heck happened. =/
This change is the result of a hotfix that got left out of the standard documentation. I apologize for that.

Previously energy generation for the Unstable Magma packs in front of Baleroc was bugged, resulting in really inconsistent functionality of the encounter. This fix ends up making the encounter more difficult given most players are accustomed to just burning down everything, which was not the intended functionality. Here is what changed:

Flamewaker Subjugator and Animator packs in the Firelands will now behave as intended. As Flamewaker Subjugators become damaged, Flamewaker Animators will be attackable, and must be killed quickly to prevent a significant buildup of Unstable Magma.

Seeing as you guys are nerfing the content next week, this seems like a really bad change to make. Particularly the fact that whatever was intended, you allowed players to do it one way for over 2 months, then suddenly put them on the rollercoaster of wiping over and over again to this trash.

If you're going to fix a bug like this on trash that is going to significantly increase the difficulty, you should have done it within at least a couple weeks of releasing 4.2, not 2.5 months later. At this point, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
