Dressing room not working when using Command

Mac Technical Support
Post Limit:
Hi everyone,

I wanted to know if anyone is experiencing this issue. I clicked the option in the mac menu that allows the Command key to be used instead of the Control key. Everything seems to work fine except when I try to Command+Click items to see them in the Dressing room (just like I would if I pressed Control+click). It's just not working.

When I press Command over an item, I see that my cursor changes into a magnifying glass. However when I click, nothing happens.

Is anyone having that issue as well?
I am bumping this up as I would really like to know if others are experiencing this.
Thanks for reporting this Asiris. Does this work when you do not have Command swapped for Control?

Can we also see some additional information about your Mac?

Obtaining System Information
    1. Hold the "Option" Key and choose "System Profiler/Information" from the Apple Menu.

    2. Copy the information from the following sections:
  • Hardware (remove the Serial Number line)
  • Graphics/Displays
  • Software (remove the Computer Name and User Name lines)

Thanks!

Hi Tony,

Thank you very much for replying to this issue.

To answer your first question, yes this works all the time when Command is not swapped for Control. Actually, when I want to see how some gear would look, I have to go in Mac menu and check it off, do it with Control, and then click it back.

I also played a bit with the issue last night and noticed a thing. The Command+Click seems to work on items that are linked in the chat, but not items that I would see in my inventory, from a vendor or from a player.

As for my System information, I will provide it to you as soon as I have access to my Mac, which should be a bit later today. Currently my job computer.

Stay tuned and thanks again.
Np. We'll send this feedback up to the team, but having some specs added would be nice. Also, do you use a standard Apple Keyboard?

Here you go. I also removed the UUID from Hardware. Wasn't sure what it is. Tell me if you need it.

I am using a standard Apple keyboard. The wireless one that came with it. No numpad.

Thanks!
I just wanted to mention that I am also experiencing this issue. iMac 11,2 (i5), same Apple Wireless keyboard. Unfortunately I don't have another keyboard handy to test on.
Same issue here, with a corded / non-wireless USB keyboard from apple.

== Steps to reproduce ==
1. Prepared a Mac and ran WoW.
2. Opened Mac options menu. (<ESC>)
3. Enabled "Use Command instead of Control for key bindings".
4. Opened inventory, found my Lava Bolt Crossbow. (item 71366)
5. Command-Clicked Lava Bolt Crossbow in the inventory.

RESULTS: Preview window did not pop up when clicking items in your inventory, if you had enabled the "use Command instead of Control" option.

Expected results: Preview windows should have popped up.

== Additional info ==
When this Mac option is disabled, the Control key works for previews as intended.

When this Mac option is enabled, neither Control nor Command will work for previews.

The mouse cursor turns in to the magnifying glass as intended, but clicking will not create a preview window.

I have a standard US keyboard, and I can confirm this bug, when the "Mac Options" menu is opened and the option "Use Command instead of Control for key bindings" is selected, neither command nor control will result in the preview window opening.

It will work with control if you uncheck the option.

It's good to lurk the Mac technical support once in a while. Some things we forget to mention cause they are almost irrelevant are mentioned by others and - boom! - we remember it's happening with us.

I found a weird workaroud for that. If I can, I link the item I want to see on a chat with someone, and it sometimes work from the chatbox. But it never works from the items directly.

Idk If I made myself clear here.

If it'a a message with [Bla bla bla of the mighty bla], and I command click on it, it works, if it's the icon of the item, it doesn't.

Model Identifier: MacBookPro7,1
Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo

OSX - 10.6.8
GPU 320M
Im also experiencing this problem. I've already sent in my Computer specs, however I ran into something interesting today while creating some basic modify spell macros for random spells. For example:

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:ctrl] Drain Life
/cast Drain Soul

I noticed that the macro works when it's fine when its in Certain button slots, but doesn't work in others. Thought this was a little strange and that i might bring it up.

Thanks!
Thanks for the additional information. We're investigating this still. Any updates I will pass along here.

Just wanted to say thanks for the support and all added feedback from other players. Nice to know I was not the only one having this issue.
Just popping in to see if there was any news on this bug?
I noticed it's not specifically mentioned in the Known Issues, (which I know doesn't mean anything), so I thought I'd see anyone on here had heard anything new since mid-December
Thanks!
Still being worked on. Sorry I'll get the known issues and etc updated today with up to date information.
