Wouldn't it make more sense to have Paralytic have a % chance to root a target for 4 seconds and have the improved shiv make it stun?
The new Shiv will apply concentrated effects of the active utility poison. Those effects are not included in the poison tooltips currently available on the calculator, but here are the current versions:

  • Crippling Poison – Reduces the target’s speed by 70% for 12 seconds.
  • Mind-Numbing Poison – Increases the casting time of an enemy's next spellcast within 8 seconds by 100%.
  • Wound Poison – Reduces the target’s healing received by 50% for 6 seconds.
  • Leeching Poison – Instantly restores 5% of the Rogue’s health.
  • Paralytic Poison – Roots the target in place for 4 seconds.

THE NEW DEATH STRIKE!!!
Blues totally don't read the forum.
That's a snail, guys. You got fooled by a talking snail.

I definitely like this design towards shiv. It acting as an enhancement to things gives it much more exciting uses than "Oh god, that guy's enraged" or "Oh god, crippling fell off."
That's a pretty cool addition to Shiv. I'm happy they keep making the ability better, and the different poison utility talents from it are interesting. Keep up the good work!

Welp looks like my thread is derailed. Thanks blue.

To answer that for you, I don't think giving us *another* direct stun is something anyone but rogues want, including developers. Having a root that we can control is very strong, but it's not nearly as overpowering as an extra stun that's completely up to us.

The decline of the stunlock happened for a reason.

A root mechanic would be interesting, but I almost feel like that'd deserve an entirely new poison.

I'm also not exactly sure how a poison would root someone... but that's semantics.
