-Essentially we have to use .ogg files now instead of wav.
Not saying you're wrong, that thread is somewhat relevant to this topic but... I see nothing there supporting that you have to use .ogg files instead of .wav. Do you have a source for that?

Blizzard changed the game's detection and interaction with the .wav files. People who made blank .wav files prior to 4.3.3 to block out Aspect noises logged in to the noises appearing once again as it wouldn't read the .wav format.

It will read and detect a blank .ogg file though now.
Isn't there a macro command that will mute sound effects and turn them back on? I thought that this was the preferred method for avoid the aspect swapping sounds.

Furthermore, does this mean that my gun silencer "addon" is broken now?
#showtooltip ExampleSpell1
/run sfx=GetCVar("Sound_EnableSFX");
/console Sound_EnableSFX 0
/use ExampleTrinket2
/cast ExampleSpell1
/run UIErrorsFrame:Clear()
/run SetCVar("Sound_EnableSFX",sfx);
It's just easier to replace the file altogether as you won't hear other Hunters Aspect dancing either.

Replacing the files is as simply ad downloading Kodiack's files and copy pasting.
I may be the biggest idiot here but I have tried everything to mute my aspect swaps... I followed the directions I found in a post but the sounds wont got away... Can anyone barney style the directions for me?

Here's how I did it. Your mileage may vary.

That post has a link to this page - https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B8lNE1tKhjzTaGNnUElmQUlTRG1qZy1fLUJuNUxZQQ/edit?pli=1

Download Sound.zip and extract it into the folder C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Data
