All of a sudden, after a major patch my CPU is bottlenecking a card that it didn't bottleneck before?
Ditch the Ultra. Put it on Ultra, turn Shadows to Good(your CPU is balls), Liquid down one notch, SSAO on Low or Off. View distance and Environment down one notch as well.
So glad I found this, just built a new system and WoW runs like crap. I have an 8 core 8120 at 4ghz OC, Radeon 7870 at 1150 OC, 16GB gskill 1600 ram, 256gb SSD etc etc and wow runs in the low 30s fps on ultra, with shadows, water and view distance down 1 notch I can pull off low 40s which is playable but come on..... This is just stupid.
I don't see how it can be Blizzards patch. If it wasn't everyone with those specs would be running like dirt. And they aren't. Which leads me to believe your computer is still running old addons or something. Rename the Interface to Interface-Bak and try again.

I'm running an i5 with a Radeon 4670 and am getting 50-60fps everywhere on High with shadows on low.

You still haven't posted that GPU-Z snapshot and dxDiag

Yousel, are you asking me this?

If you're referring to me, no I'm not posting my dxDiag or any diagnosis snapshots any more. I refuse to. No disrespect meant to your question, but I've had it with all of that.

My reports and diag are all clean, they've been clean for 30 days. I've been worn out by Blues asking me to post information about my computer, asking me to update my drivers, and then disappearing into cricket land the moment they see that there's nothing wrong with my rig, and they've run out of text-book fixes.

I can read and interpret my own Diag report. There is nothing wrong with my system, and there is nothing in my system that is corrupting WoW.

This is being caused on Blizzard's end, and it is being caused by their 5.0.4 Update, and the evidence for that assertion, after 30 days of this, is OVERWHELMING.

Again, I'm not trying to sound arrogant or to give you a hard time, but I've had it with the Blues and I'm done posting information about my computer when there's nothing wrong with it.

This anger is directed at Blizzard and their Blues, NOT you, just wanted to let you know that :)

Peace.

Majesto,

Thank you for sharing your info.

Your comment is the one that has been echoed a THOUSAND times over the past 30 days.....

How can other players and the Techs. still be saying this is an isolated, rig-by-rig individual hardware problem???? How can they be saying that, and STILL be trying to target individual rigs, when you've got players like you who JUST BUILT A BRAND NEW SYSTEM that exceeds the requirements for this game and should be able to play WoW without even yawning?

Again, the amateur detective in me would say well, GEEEEE, if players with BRAND NEW RIGS are trying to run WoW, and the game is malfunctioning, and their FPS is in the toilet, that just maybe Blizzard's 5.0.4 Update is what is causing MOST, if not ALL of this, and NOT the individual's hardware?

I mean in your case....what's Blizzard going to ask you to do next, build several gaming rigs and see if WoW works on at least one of them? LOL LOL

You pretty much summed it up. This is just stupid. Darn straight it is.
I'm not disagreeing with you that it's caused by the 5.04 update. Like I said, I had problems with it as well. It ended up being my machine. I changed one thing, and went from unplayable to smooth again like it was before the patch.

I'm logged in right now, with god knows how many players, and they are all playing fine. Can you explain that? If it was something hosed in Blizzards coding the forums would crash over the amount of posts. How many millions of people play this game?

Because all those people don't use the same hardware?

Are you seriously not understanding this? This has been happening in updates since the games launch. Blizzard updates something, it breaks the game for a few people who have a configuration that now has a similar problem. It's unbelievable that someone can think if Blizzard changes the game and then it doesn't work for someone, it's still somehow that person's computer's fault. Even if you only change one thing, the fact that you had to change it when you didn't before means that Blizzard changed something and the game didn't work correctly anymore.

That argument makes absolutely no sense. It's basic logic people. If my computer plays the game fine BEFORE a patch, and AFTER the patch it plays it terribly, your FIRST inclination as to what went wrong, should be the thing that CHANGED.

AKA THE PATCH!

OMG EVANESCO.....THANK YOU!!! Someone else who gets this!!

If you don't mind, I am following your threads now, and any future ones you make, and the threads of a few other players, specifically the ones who grasp what I, you, and others have been saying about this! I want to see what ends up happening with our threads, if there is any official response from Blizzard, and if other players finally begin to grasp this.

Evanesco, you explained it better in two paragraphs than I have in all my long rants over the past months.

I just want to shake your hand right now, or buy you a drink, or both......

You just GET THIS! You JUST GET IT! Thank you.
...
Don't know if this helps, but I'm still running the 12.3 drivers from a few months back, and I'm getting upwards of 100+ FPS with my two Radeon 6970s, at 3240x1920 Ultra settings.

Core i7 920 @ 3.8GHz, Gigabyte X58 Mainboard, 12GB Tri-Channel DDR3, 256GB Samsung 830 SSD RAID0 (2x128)
...
WoW is a cpu based game, your cpu is either bottlenecking your graphics card or its just not good enough for 25man raids, high populated zones, etc to hover around 50. Im running a single core at 3.9 and a 9800gtx overclocked with around 30fps and hardly playable in 25m raid settings
