Frustrating Latency Issues on Retina MBP

Mac Technical Support
Hello,

My roommate plays on a 2012 Retina MacBook Pro running Mountain Lion (10.8.2) and sees very frustrating latency/lag spikes especially in (but not limited to) dungeons. I play on a mid 2009 MBP also running Mountain Lion (10.8.2) and never have any latency issues. We have friends that come over to play at our place and never see any issues either, so I know this issue only pertains to her computer.

At first I thought it may be an IP issue. Our home network has about nine devices on it at any given time and I thought her computer may be competing for the same IP address, so I tried disabling most of them, but had very limited success. I cannot confirm if it helped or not.

We've also tried general troubleshooting methods such as:
1. Navigate to /Applications/World of Warcraft
2. Move the WTF, Cache and Interface folders to the desktop
3. Now go into the Data folder and delete the Cache folder
4. Navigate to /Users/Shared and delete the Battle.net folder
5. Launch the World of Warcraft Launcher. Let all updates apply and hit Play when Game is up to date is displayed.

Thank you.
I am also getting ridiculous latency issues on a rMBP.

Can we run a trace when these latency spikes happen?

Something seems obviously wrong...
It seems like it is being masked. Are you on a college/university connection? You might want to speak to your network admin about this and see if they can see any issues.

Yes I am at a university. I'll try contacting them. Thanks!
I ran the trace program twice. Once during periods of low lag, and then again when she was experiencing huge lag spikes.

The only issue I found was during the period of low lag, hop 14 had some issues prior to reaching our networks.

7 xe-8-0-0.edge4.dallas3.level3.net (4.59.32.89) 22.310 ms
xe-4-3-0.edge4.dallas3.level3.net (4.59.32.69) 18.744 ms *

ae-3-80.edge10.dallas1.level3.net (4.69.145.146) 19.888 ms

On where the lag strikes, it looks like some data packets are lost, which causes it to spike up a bit and go back down. Again this is something that happens before it hits our networks.

You might want to contact your ISP and see if they can relay this to their peering partner and stuff if this is the issue.
im stil latency my nunnber.s are going up can same one tell me how ot fix it
@Sithedis- Is this the same exact issue? What is your latency meter in game showing for World/Home ms?
I have a 2012 Macbook with Retina and I have the same issue. My Network is super fast, not sure whats going on.
And I top out @11fps
What is your latency in-game?
26ms home/world
i got exactly the same problem. i just bought the new mcl retina which cost me 3000$ and some times i have frustrating lags. but very frustrating. i restarted the mac several times but it still doesn't work. i also have internet high speed at home. plz find a way to solve this.
I'm having the same issues. This just started yesterday and before that I have had no problems running MOP with my new Macbook Pro retina. The latency and fps get so high I get disconnected from the server.
I'm wondering if there's anything I can do about my latency, disconnections. It happens mostly when I'm in a raid (normal 10-mans and LFR). When I'm solo-ing it's pretty stable. Are there any hints as to what's causing me to disconnect?
