That's how it's been at the beginning of every expansion, you dork.

The game favors bursty DPS until the resilience gear catches up to the damage output.

Yes it has nothing to do with the removal of spells, nerfs to Disc mechanics, and nerfs to glyphs/baseline talents. Damn you're smart. You must work for Blizz! /endsarcasm
Disc isnt a class.
Try holy. More throughput, less oom at the beginning of an expansion.
Well if you can't live for three seconds you're probably getting zerged, which means don't stand in stupid places where you'll be highly visible. However uh, Disc is pretty lacking when it comes to survivability and escape mechanisms if you compare it to say, uh, any other healer spec (except Holy Priest).

It isn't bad though, the regen is bad, yes, the throughput is a little low, yes, but the core mechanics are solid and can be exploited like a boss (Fade, Spectral Guise et al) to make you a major PITA to others. Just needs a few tweaks (survivability/escape, mana regen, throughput) and it should be golden though.

It doesn't take a genius to notice the pattern...

At the beginning of every single expansion, healers complain about being unable to outheal burst DPS. At the end of every expansion, DPS complain about being unable to kill healers.

It's been happening for years... so has the blaming of changes to class / spec / whatever, rather than the obvious disparity in gear stats.

I can throw some numbers your way, if you're interested. The basic idea is that it takes more of a certain stat (e.g., resilience) to gain the same effect (e.g., % damage reduction from players) at level 90 than it did at level 85. So, even though you're running with higher resilience at 90, you damage reduction is actually lower than it was at 85. The same stat decay happens to the offensive stats (like crit, etc.) but at a different rate, so what you're seeing is a larger drop in damage reduction than in damage output, giving you that "squishy feel" (TM). As the gear progresses, the gap closes, yielding the typical complains from DPS classes about not being able to kill a healer by the end of an expansion.

Just pick up a shadow spec, blow !@#$ up, and wait until the gear catches up and disc begins to shine again.

What we are seeing now is a disc issue, not a general healer issue.

The other healing specs (besides holy) don't have the survivability issues priests have. Other classes have more throughput, survivability, and mobility...lol
The issue is that Horde players stink and Alliance are highly skilled resulting in you being destroyed by a far better team.

The imbalance on Cyclone battlegroup is pissing me off. Horde wins 20% of the time. I go hours without winning a BG. 90% of the Alliance teams are partial premades which just goes to show that the faction is made up of serious PvP players. They will only get their gear much, much faster than Horde, accelerating their win ratio.

Bottom line; if your on Cyclone or Horde, you will not have any fun as any class comparable to a Junior High School football player going against a Pro football team. Simply ridiculous.
Hey babe 17 ToK battles 16 wins.

Horde are bad k'
Just learn to play your spec. You've just chosen this as a good time as people will think "Hey new xpac" this guys an 85 they must have nerfed.
If you're expecting to own PvP as a priest with no resil in a new expansion, you're gonna have a bad time.
I disagree. Disc feels stronger than most healers excluding resto druids.
PvP now will be the same when everyone is in full pvp gear. In a few months we'll all have 20% more damage reduction from resil and dps classes will have 20% more damage from pvp power. Nothign will change.

I've seen you post in another disc thread and while I don't disagree about the relative performance of various healer classes / specs, I think that issue is dwarfed by the gear disparity between offensive and defensive stats.

The stamina will increase, which will smooth out the damage.
