Random High Latency issue

Technical Support
Recently (this past week) I have been getting random high latency issues. Every so often my latency will spike to 2k+ and consequently I will lag and WoW becomes unplayable.

Edit: Also just now I was doing raid finder and all of a sudden got huge lag and got disconnected and couldn't reconnect until about 10 minutes later. My little computer screen was still on green and said my ms was at 150 which is what I usually get.

The random lag spikes have only happened during the afternoon/evening and have occured twice while in a raid - resulting in me having to be switched out for another dps.

I did have some issues with lag and latency with cross-realm-zones but that seems to be fixed. But I was sitting in stormwind and it was sitting at 2k+. I've checked my internet connection and my partner who is on the same connection is not having any issues.

I'm not sure how to figure out what is causing this and if it's on Blizzard's end or my end. Here is a little information that everyone else seems to be posting:

Exact same issue
I have been having latency issues as well. The latency drops drammatically whenever I'm in SMC, but anytime I head out to quest or work on my profs, it jumps up.
I have this same issue it happens around now... 10pm.... as well early morning... just like the origonal poster... I was thinking it mgiht have something to do with me switching from Verizon to Comcast, but others have this issue too so I doubt it.

I am currently reading as 993 ms Home and 1329 ms.... in the time it took me to look at this I dropped to 625 and spiked to 2228
Same Issue. I'm in south florida and have Comcast. Anyone else? Is this a comcast issue?
My latency has been fine since I posted this, but tonight it has suddenly and randomly jumped back up to 1k ms. This is in Jade Forest at the moment and was also spiking in Krasarang on two different characters. Still have no idea why this is happening.
Another update on this, I've decided that my latency is an issue only in the evenings - namely after about 6-7pm NZT. I'm not sure how long this goes on for but I assume through the night. Because it's at peak time I was wondering if this was because the server itself is overflowing (I play on a "Full" server) or does it have something to do with the high volume of people on the internet at the same time so the exchange is slow? Could anyone take a stab?

If it is internet issues I'll contact my ISP. But if it's just the sheer amount of people playing on the server, how would I fix that without xferring servers?

Edit: and now my latency has jumped back down to normal. what the hell is causing this?
