I almost lost hope when you made that fail show Spongebob Failpants a prime time cartoon!

*WARNING SPOILERS (old show)*

I am both excited, and pained by the return of TMNT.

My brother has seen every episode, and i have at least seen every episode since before the discovery of Utron shredder. It was painful to watch the last episode available on youtube. The one where they get mechs and fight a bunch of dinosaurs made by Stockman. Terrible episode.

I did watch the 1st episode (the hour long one) of the new TMNT. I understand characters change, so im not going to attack the show on that.

But...
I think they just kind of killed the story, or at least limited it dramatically. I have yet to see the shredder for more than 5 minutes on screen, but the Utrons being in the very first episode? I thought it may have been too soon.

There is one thing I loved about the old TMNT, factions, warring Antagonist factions!

Purple Dragons &/vs The Foot vs Stockman vs Utrons (not really bad guys) vs season threats like Demon Shredder.

If I'm not mistaken though, I've heard the 2012 series is based more around the comics than the two shows before it. That could explain the changes. I haven't read the comics myself though, so I can't really judge.

If its based on the comics then it would be infinitely better than any version that came before it.
The TV show has to have predated the comics. The original 80s TV show was created to market the toys I think. or maybe the other way around. It was confusing in the 1980s, lots of morning cartoons short of Loony Toons where actually created to make us beg our parents for toys.

The TMNT comic was a parody of The New Mutants by Marvel, and it was I think 84? The creators used their tax refund money on it, and well.. They took a massive leap in popularity that wasn't intended.

No. The comic predated the cartoon. It was homage to many different marvel comic books like Daredevil and the new mutants.

Splinter=>Stick
The foot=>The hand
Truck accident that created the TMNT=>Truck accident that created Daredevil
Teenage mutants=>Original X-men/X-force/New Mutants

The first movie was one of the closest adaptations of the comic.

Someone is upset that their doodle art hasn't raked in $8 billion in merchandising revenue.
Since this is a TMNT thread,

Does anyone else find it funny that Michelangelo is the least competent ninja of the turtle, yet he excels and specializes in what is considered the hardest weapon to master?

Nunchucks and grappling hooks are soft weapons and chain whips (like nunchucks) are to my understanding the hardest weapon in martial arts to master (and easiest for the wield to hurt themselves with) while Bows and katanas are some of the easiest to learn and use.

Im not a martial artist so my info is 2nd hand and could be wrong. But its pretty cool if its true.
I heard nick canceled Winx Club to put in the TMNT

no loss there

COWABUNGA DUDES!!
err, the turtles say "cowabunga" no L
